Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
Mom is thankful that I let her snorgle my tummy.
Here is my poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day to go with this photo:
Everyone is so rushed now,
what’s the big rush anyhow?
Need to get there super fast
slowing down makes them aghast.
Many years ago people loved the train,
enjoying a leisurely meal , they would not complain.
Now we must get to that vacation,
hurry to your destination.
Instead ,just enjoy the journey,
before you end up on a gurney.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first two and our co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. I would like tickets to _____________________.
2 Please don’t ask me to _______________________.
3. I’d rather _________ than _________.
4. By this time next year, _________.
I love the poem – and my human loves the train! She hasn’t been on one since she brought me home, but I think they are pet friendly (sort of) now, so maybe we’ll take a trip soon.
Thank you, glad you like it. That will be fun to go on a train ride. XO
Luv da poem (and da tummy shot!)
Thank you 🙂
I love your poem, too, and it is so true. Most everyone is in a rush, too busy to slow down and smell the roses or notice the butterfly hidden in the shadows or the little kitty purring. It is sad, really.
That is a cute kitty pic and so soft looking. 🙂
Have a blessed day!
It is sad. Thank you, Joanie is a sweetie and very soft. XO
What a happy picture!
Julie is the one that loves belly rubs the most.
We really enjoyed that poem.
Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ
Thank you. XO
Love that tummy shot! And the poem is fabulous and spot on too – everyone is in such a big fat hurry that they’ve forgotten what an ADVENTURE the journey can be before you arrive at your destination. Well done – Angel Sammy will love it like WE do!
Hugs, Teddy
Thank you. XO
That is a most wonderful thankful, Joanie. I am happy you let your tummy be snorgled!
Perfect poem. I would love to do a train ride… if I could just not be such a homebody!
Thank you. Same with mom, she is a homebody too. XO
Oh Joanie, that is such a pretty tummy. Riding a train would be so much fun. See all the sights. You all have a fantastic day.
Thank you. XO
Oh, such a cute belly!
The poem is great. Traveling by train is great!
Thank you 🙂
Such a wonderful poem and a wonderful tummy too! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Thank you for hosting 🙂
What great tummy pic! The last time I rode on a train was when I was a kid in the 50s. She was hungry and no amount of begging, threatening, cajoling by her or the pullman would get me to cross the plates between cars. It’s funny now. Back then you could see the ground. Don’t know what it’s like now. But I’ve often thought I’d like to take a train trip now.
Thank you. That would be scary to a kid.
Meowser, tummy snorgles are always something to be thankful for!
Purrseidon >^.^<
Thank you 🙂
Can we snorgle your tummy, too, Joanie? Pretty please with sugar on top? As for your poem, it fits the image so perfectly, while also giving some great advice. Everyone really should take a step back, relax, and enjoy the journey. I can’t wait for tomorrow’s fill-ins!
Sure, bring treats and snorgle all you want 🙂
Well done…on your poetry!!
Hugs madi your bfff
Thank you 🙂
Awwww… Nice poem. We took a train from Cincinnati to Miami for our honeymoon. Was awesome! Be well.
Oh, thank you for the nice comment and for sharing that great grave vault company slogan. I like that! A local veterinarian always has funny jokes on their sign, like “If you don’t talk to your cat about catnip, who will?” Likewise a nearby tire store. Back around Thanksgiving their sign advertised ‘pumpkin flavored tires’. Cracked me up completely since that’s about the only thing that doesn’t have a pumpkin version in autumn. Meanwhile, I look forward to tomorrow’s fill-ins. ~hugs~
I have a big sticker on my back window of my car that says that about catnip 🙂
Thank you. That sounds like a romantic way to travel.
A lovely thankful and the poem is spot on. Love it.
I’m all ready for the fill-ins tomorrow. Great questions.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. My best to your peeps. ♥
Thank you. I look forward to your fill-ins. XO
“Slow down, you move too fast! Got to make the morning last!”
So true, we are all too busy; need to stop and snorggle the kitty belly!
Yes, snorgle away 🙂
Is snorgle really a word? If it isn’t, it should be! Love the message in the poem. Life’s short. No need to rush through it.
Not sure if it is really a word, but it is in the cat blogosphere 🙂 Glad you liked the poem, thanks.
That’s a nice train.
So, you like belly rubs…

Taking the train was such fun as a child, and in Europe. My girls took a train to Chicago a few years ago, they loved it. If i could i would take a train vacation.
Glad you got to experience it.
I wanna snorgle it too!!!
Bring me treats and you can snorgle all you want 🙂
Mom finds that the older she gets, the more hurried things get on their own!
Same here 🙂
Well, that is quite the fine tummy! Of course your mom is grateful, and you are so gracious to allow it.
Thank you 🙂
That poem hit home..I’ll pass it along to the housekeeper and everybody else in this joint! – Tom x
That is a great poem. We think we would like to ride on the train.
Thank you.
Very nice poetry. ♥ We took a train from New York City to upstate N.Y. It was fun!

A very cute photo and a great poem!
Thank you 🙂
Oh, what a glorious tummy.
Petcretary used to take the train every week back and forth to her home from College…once it got stuck in a snowbank. Yikes! By the next summer she had learned to drive and got her first car… In Europe, trains are a major method of transport. Petcretary has been on many a train there, too. Her ‘Opa’ (Grandpa) was a train regulator way back; he made sure they were on time, and he had to switch the tracks for them when they were coming in to the station. He was still doing that in WW11. One of the perks he had from that job, was a yearly free trip for his whole family (10 in total), to a beach resort, Oma used to talk about those summertimes…
We would love to take a train ride across both the USA and Canada.
That is interesting that your Oma’s Opa had that job. I hope you get to take a train tour like that. XO
I love the poem. I’ve been at museums where I’d be surprised if some of the patrons even know what they’re looking at since they move by it so quickly
Thank you. Yes, most rush through life.
