Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
I am thankful that I finally had a chance to take the Christmas tree down and all the decorations. Except for the snowmen, they can stay out until February.
Also, thankful that my mom and I got to spend time with the kids last Friday and Sunday plus we saw them at Typhoid Mary’s basketball game on Saturday too.
No poem again this week. Maybe next week.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. I feel like ______________________________ whenever I think about _______________.
2. January is a good month to _____________________.
3. _________ is nonnegotiable in my life.
4. I could give up _________ as long as _________.

Gorgeous tree, I can easily understand leaving it up for awhile after Christmas! Oh yeah, time with the kids, and your mom, fun! XO
Thank you. XO
Your tree was quite pretty!
I’m glad you got to have time with your ‘grands’ and your mom. I guess your kitties are mostly thankful that they didn’t have to deal with them, 😉
Thank you. Yes, I think so. 🙂 My hubby too. XO
WOW, that was one heck of a tree. It’s a wonder it was not decorated by a few kitties hanging on the brances! Very beautiful tree….
Thank you. The Great One and The Boy did a good job decorating it. XO
We’ve noticed several families in our neighborhood still have their outside Christmas lights up – it’s kind of nice to see actually……I’m guessing they too might still have their INSIDE decorations up. It’s a lot of work putting all that stuff away too!!
Hugs, Pam
Yes, it is a lot of work. Usually I put stuff out over a period of a week, then all at once to pick up is a lot. XO
I took my Christmas tree down saturday. I’m already missing the colorful lights. They say a terrible snow storm is headed our way this weekend and if the power stays on I think I would probably have like the Christmas lights.
I hope your storm is not bad and you don’t lose power. I always worry about that now that we no longer have a generator. XO
What a beautiful tree, Ellen. I’m glad you and your mom got to spend time with the kids.
Thank you. XO
Mom hates taking the trees down.
Much more fun putting them up. XO
Those are terrific thankfuls. Y’all keep warm up there. Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Thank you. I hope your storm is not bad.
We have several neighbors that still have all their outside Christmas decorations up and they even have the lights on at night. Full Christmas display!
Around here everyone’s outside stuff is frozen in the ground until mid March at least. XO
So not one Meowing Crew kitty tried to mess with the tree? That is a beautiful tree… I would have not wanted to take in down. But the snowmen can keep it festive! It’s really wonderful that you and your Mom cheer the kids on at sports events and just cheer them on through life in general.
Thank you. My kitties are naughty, but not with the tree. 🙂 We are blessed to be so involved with the kids. xO
Wonderful thankfuls ~ lovely tree ~ January needs some lights ~ so good you had the tree up for awhile ~ hugs,’

Thank you. XO
What a cozy corner you have for your tree.
So happy the kiddos and you and Grammie have such fun
Hugs Cecilia
Thank you. Yes, we do have a lot of fun. XO
The tree is lovely, but everything looks so bare when the tree and decorations come down.
Thank you. XO
Just beautiful tree! And spending time with the kids is more enjoyable than about anything!
Thank you. Yes, it is. XO
Beautiful Christmas tree! Do the kitties leave it alone? Usually cats are so curious about all the dangly ornaments. 🙂
Thank you. Yes, I have been lucky. And they even have crocheted ones for them to play with on the bottom. XO
Very pretty tree 🙂
No that all that fun is over, we just wait for the warm days to return.
I do not want to play in the cold snow 😉
Purrs Winnie
Thank you. I want to play in the snow, but I am always too tired after shoveling. XO
Beautiful tree!
Thank you. 🙂
Good work getting the Christmas stuff put away. I’m glad you get to see the kids often.
Thank you. I am blessed. XO
Such a lovely tree! No wonder you didn’t want to take it down. I’m down to just the Christmas cards. The post office is taking its sweet time forwarding my mail (I got two cards this week) but I think I’ll take them down this weekend when it’s snowing and cold. The wintery stuff can stay up until February or March. I still have a few boxes to unpack and to get the art studio better organized. Stay warm this weekend.
That must be frustrating with the mail. XO
I worked on taking down the decorations this week. The tree is still up with just the white lights on it. Probably will stay up that way into Feb!
That must be pretty with just the lights.
Snowpeople can stick around until early April, no?
Yes, but I usually put them away when I get out the Valentine’s Day stuff. XO
Your joys make me happy. 😀 Hugs, my dear.
Thank you. XO
It’s nice you’re getting lots of time with the kids. Your tree is so pretty!
Thank you. It is feast or famine with the kids because of school, sports, dance, etc. XO
Chaplin: “Goodbye until next Christmas, tree full of delightful dangly ornaments!”
MOL! 🙂
Lovely Thankfuls, Ellen, and that Christmas tree was so beautiful. Did the kitties and kids help you to dismantle the Christmas tree, just wondering😸Double Pawkisses for all of you🐾😽💞
Thank you. 🙂 No, the kids helped decorate, but I had to undecorate myself. Xo
