Tortie Tuesday

Hi everyone! Today is Tortie Tuesday instead of tummy Tuesday. One of our kitty readers requested seeing more of the tortie with the hope of getting to know her better so here is Penny:

Here she is hanging out with Flat Scout Charles ( one of these days we need to mail him home) . And here she is enjoying the valerian heart that Katzenworld sent us. We won a Posh Graffiti Christmas ornament in a giveaway and they were kind enough to send us this heart too. All the kitties have been loving it and drooling on it too. It also makes a great pillow. If you want your own, you can order here:

This is the ornament that I won. It is beautiful and when you buy one you are helping a rice farming village in Bali to supplement their income.

Phoebe Thursday

Happy Thursday everyone! 010

Mom has been worrying about Lucy all week. We thank you all for purring and praying. She is eating, still not as much as she used to, but enough. We should have a call from the vet today about the blood work.

I am really getting sick of these Flat Cats. Mom took them to The Quabbin Reservoir the other day: 007 011For those of you that don’t know, The Quabbin  is where Boston gets it’s water from. It was built in the 1930’s – 4 towns were erased from Massachusetts they even moved cemeteries. I know all about it, but Mom has never taken me- phooey!

Mom also wrote all about the Flat Scouts:

There are lots of flat cat photos- but none of flat me.

I did get to see my Grammie yesterday I love her so very much. 003We are going to be having lots of giveaways coming up, Mom got some Dr. Who fabric and pirate one too for catnip mats. I saw a bag of eyeballs too. See you Sunday!

Happy Monday everyone! Today we are back to the a-z blogging challenge and on the letter K.

I have 2 K’s today. First off, I want to thank Kitty Cat Chronicles ( ) for giving us 2 awards. We already posted about them the other days when other bloggers gave them to us, but it sure is nice to be recognized. Thank you. If you missed the award post, this it it:

My other K is for Katzenworld ( ) . I am sure most of you already read their blog, but if you don’t, you should check it out. They write about their own sweet kitties and have several guest posters as well ( including me).

Speaking of fun and games, the reason I was so excited to do the a-z challenge is because I love to play the a-z game in the car. Ever since I was a child and now, even though I am 45, I make my Mom ( and rarely, my niece ) play. You pick a subject groceries, restaurants, stores, etc. and have to come up with one for each letter , but you have to repeat everything before too. It is a great way to keep your mind in shape.

Please visit tomorrow, we are having a guest write about using essential oils for cats.

Cat Scouts

Happy Monday everyone! Today is fun and games day so I thought I would tell you about Cat Scouts. I know most of you know about it, but just in case there are any kitties or their humans out there that don’t………….

First off, any cat can join from anywhere in the world. Cat Scouts doesn’t discriminate. Many of the Cat Scouts have blogs, but it isn’t a requirement. I have 15 cats, but I only have one Cat Scout and that is my Sammy. sammyuniform2

The Cat Scouts have many different badges they can earn just like Boy or Girl Scouts. And it is much easier, all you need to do is take a photo of your cat “bird watching”, “bunny kicking”, etc.

They also have virtual parties and trips. It does help to know how to use a photo editing program so you can have some photos of these adventures. I am still working on the photo editing, but luckily Sammy’s friend, Andy got a photo of Sammy snowboarding when they went on a ski trip: sammysnowboardmonIts also a great place for kitties to make friends and even go on dates. I know some people think this is a big joke and us Cat Scouts parents are crazy, but they actually spread a lot of joy.

Cat Scouts is very big on Service Projects and many of the members send cards to special people in hospitals, schools , etc. Here is Sammy working on some of his: 014If you are interested in Cat Scouts for your kitty here is the link: . Have a great day!

PS: Here is a tummy photo so we can join Katzenworld’s Tummy Tuesday:

If you haven’t heard of Katzenworld, please check them out- here is one of my recent posts for them:

The Story of Fester Cat

Happy Friday everyone! Today is book day and Lucy and I are both recommending The Story of Fester Cat by Paul Magrs. I finally got the book from the library, but I liked it so much that I am going to order my own copy.

As you know, I don’t like books that make me cry. I will let you know I cried briefly, but the book is so uplifting that one cry was worth the rest of it. Fester is 12 years old when he decides to move in with Jeremy and Paul. Prior to that, he is basically on his own because the other families that he has lived with don’t really take good care of him. The 3 of them become a family and Fester tells us how it all came to be from his days on the street to life with Paul and Jeremy.

This book really hit home with me because it reminded me of our Spooky. He lived with 2 other families on our street until last year when he decided to move in with us. Spooky doesn’t try to get out, but if he did, I would stop him. Fester is allowed to go out, but always returns to his friends. This is a wonderful story about the power of love and friendship. It shows that our true families are those we choose to be with ( even if they are furry). I think every cat lover will enjoy it.

If you are looking for something else to read, The Daily Mews has all sorts of cat articles including mine: and Katzenworld does to: I know a lot of you already read these, but I thought I would list them in case anyone missed them.

Have a great weekend everyone! Make sure you visit Phoebe Sunday, she is planning a fun contest. And tomorrow is Art day 🙂
