Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Book Date’s It’s Monday What are YOU Reading?
Sammy is posing with one of the books I am currently reading. The Comfort Book by Matt Haig. It is an easy read filled with quotes and anecdotes to make the reader feel good. There are two pages of “It’s okay” , I especially like,
“It’s okay to be the teacup with a chip in it. That’s the one with the story.”
If you are looking for some words of comfort and hope right now then I highly recommend this.
I think I need a new nickname for Typhoid Mary. Her mother, my niece told me she said Auntie calls me Typhoid Mary. My niece just said, that’s good. Then my niece asked her how her ice cream was and she replied, “good, its so Typhoid Mary.” 🙂
She is only 3 so she is too young to explain about Typhoid Mary.
Looks like Rosie will be here tomorrow. And Wednesday we have a review of a great water fountain.
I’m reading I ❤ Mr. Collins by L. Starla
Your book your reading looks like a good one. Thanks for sharing
You’re welcome. XO
Thank you for sharing about the book and Tocktober! 🙂 <3
You’re welcome. 🙂 XO
That’s so cute an d very funny about your T.M.!! LOL!
Yup, time for new name!! Else there might be more out of the mouths of babes happening:)
That sounds like a book to build up a downward spiraling ego.
Thank you. 🙂 Yes, or for someone that is depressed. XO
Sounds like a good, soothing book. Funny about Typhoid Mary; I can’t imagine what name might replace it though . . . XO
Thank you. 🙂 XO
The Comfort Book would be nice to pick up each day for a little reflection.
Yes, it would be. 🙂
What a cute anecdote 🙂
Wishing you a great reading week
Thank you. You too. 🙂
MAMA LOVES THAT BOOK YOU ARE READING – Teacup, indeed. So sweet. She is going to tell her 12-year-old shy, very-teen-ager grandchild that she is that teacup, when she is full of self-doubt and thinking she is not like others. WONDERFUL. As for books, mama reads about a gazillion a year and the best one she has read this year is Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty. Spectacular plot, just amazing. Mama cried at its beauty. Please mention more titles you like. She is on number 28 of Camilleri’s wonderful Sicilian books.
It would be a nice gift for her grandchild. I will have to check out Apples Never Fail. XO
That is funny about Typhoid Mary!
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Hmm….you may be right about your niece needing a new nickname! These days people don’t want to hear anyone even mention something like typhoid (tee hee). I love the quote about the chipped teacup – I’ve been one of those for 74 years now and have never minded having the chips (!!).
Hugs, Pam
Good point about the nickname. I am a chipped cup too. XO
That’s a funny story! I wondered how ‘Mary’s’ mother felt about the nickname. lol Hugs to you and yours, my dear.
Thank you. 🙂 Her mother doesn’t mind, she knows she sneezes all over the place.XO
Yup. They grow up and take notice what’s going on around them that concerns them, more and more with each passing day. The learning times iare here– with wings on its back!
Katie Isabella
Yes, they do. XO
Awww, did kitty get into a fight? Good time for a comfort book, for sure.
No fight. He had a bump on his nose that I had biopsied almost 2 years ago and sometimes he still scratches it.
I’m currently reading False Witness by Karin Slaughter. Very good book.
Typhoid Mary is being misused. Just saying, but you’re right a three year old won’t understand the meaning right now.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to all the kitties and a hug to mom. ♥
I haven’t heard of that book. XO
I like that quote. Sounds like a good book. Have a great Monday.
Thank you. 🙂 I hope you had a nice Monday. XO
I think that I would enjoy the Comfort Book. I am reading blogs. That is funny about “that’s so Typhoid Mary!”

Sounds like what we need around here about now Sammy. Kids of that age are the best and it is such fun to watch them grow
It is a great book. It is fun watching them grow, but they grow too fast XO
Charlee: “Our Dada is reading something called ‘The Great Alta Saga’ by Jane Yolen. It’s like a thousand pages long.”
Chaplin: “A thousand pages?! It would’ve taken Dennis a long time to shred that many pages!”
Charlee: “No it wouldn’t have.”
Chaplin: “Yeah, no, you’re right, it wouldn’t have.”
Yikes! That is a lot of pages.
The Comfort Book sounds like a great book. I’m going to look for it. Have a great Monday!
It truly is a comfort. XO

The Human says that book sounds good! Right now she’s reading (well actually listening to an audio book) by Eric Metaxis about Dietrich Bonhoeffer. She says’ it’s good but we felines aren’t big readers, we purrfur the klitty You Tube channel!
Purrs & Head Bonks,
Alberto
My kitties prefer youtube too. 🙂 XO
LOL that’s cute about Typhoid Mary!
Thank you. 🙂
You look terrific Sammy and the book sounds good!
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Awww! This post made me smile. Yes, the little one needs a new nickname, as she gets older, she won’t bring home so many things, they all outgrow it.
Glad I made you smile. 🙂 XO
I think everyone could find comfort in reading that book these days!
I agree. XO
I’ve read two books by Matt Haig: The Midnight Library and How to Stop Time; both were excellent!
The story of ‘Typhoid Mary’ is interesting and sad…the original one, I mean.
I plan to read more of his books.
