Friendly Fill-Ins Week 495

Hi everyone. Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. ______________________ was a faux pas I made once.
2. I know every line of ____________________.
3. I need a good recipe for _________.
4. If I were in charge of _________, I would change _________.
My answers:
1. When I first started blogging, I joined a Twitter chat and PetSmart was brought up- I wrote I preferred Petco not realizing the talk was sponsored by PetSmart and that was a faux pas I made once.
2. I know every line of the movies Family Man and Peggy Sue Got Married. Nic Cage movies, of course.
3. I need a good recipe for a keto friendly dessert for my hubby for Thanksgiving.
4. If I were in charge of the education system in this country, I would change it so school is only 4 days a week. It really cuts into family time with 5 days a week and all the activities that come with it.
We are joining Feline Friday now hosted by Messymimi.
My flashback is from November 2017, Angel Emmy was posing with a turkey.

  1. Awww, Angel Emmy looks adorable! Good answers, I think a four day school week, and a four day work week, would both work well. XO

  2. Whoa, that was an embarrassing moment you had, LOL!
The library might have lots of books with good ideas for keto/low carb dessert. Or I am sure ‘Mr Google’ has more than you could ever need/want!
Emmy was such a sweetie. 🥰

Here is a pretty yummy dessert that I used to make a lot, but since it isn’t vegan, I don’t make it very often anymore…
    Keto Raspberry Cheesecake
This delicious Keto Raspberry Cheesecake recipe is in support of the many folk who are focussed on achieving and enjoying the benefits of the keto diet, whilst still experiencing delicious morsels.
Not on a keto diet? Never fear – it’s that delicious, it’ll impress regardless. All it’s missing is the crumbly base!
    6 eggs

    1 cup raspberries

    2/3 cup coconut oil (melted)

1/2 cup cream cheese (room temp)

    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    1/2 teaspoon baking powder

    4 tablespoons Stevia (granulated)*
    * this is a classic keto recipe, if you prefer a different sweetener substitute with pure maple syrup in equal amounts
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees celsius. (You’ll have to convert this to Farenheit)
Line a tray with baking paper (about 8 by 8 inches).

In a large bowl, using a wooden spoon, mix the coconut oil and cream cheese well. Add the eggs, vanilla, baking powder and Stevia and beat with spoon until a runny batter forms – no lumps. Pour the batter into the tray. Scatter on the raspberries.

Bake for 25 mins. Allow to sit for 5 mins then cut into squares.

Enjoy hot or cold!

    1. The worst was when I gave a sandwich that a man ordered to the wrong man…and he didn’t want it, I didn’t realize why until the first customer came to the counter, That was a faux pas I made once, and likely I cannot keep track of the many I have made over the years…
    2. I know every line of many hymns, and some I know both the soprano and the alto parts. If we use the hymnbook I grew up with, I often sing from memory…hubby laughs when I tell him what the hymn is just by the number in the hymnbook. LOL!
    3. I need good recipes for a vegan Thanksgiving menu…(I think I have gotten all the sides taken care of, though, thankfully!)
    4. If I were in charge of where I work, I would change many things so that the caregivers like myself would have more time to truly love and care for their charges..one of which would be to have the administration be on the floors rolling up their sleeves so they would know exactly what the work entails in reality, instead of just on paper…

    1. Thank you for the recipe, it sounds good. And thank you for these great answers. I agree about #4. XO

  3. Wonderful recipe. Mama will send you one for a custard that is delicious and topped with nutmeg that her granny used to make for those addicted to it–everyone in the family.
But almost all desserts can use artificial sweeteners…sweet potato pie, ricotta cake (will send) and apple cake (will send). Mama’s not used to using artificial sweeteners but she’s pretty sure they will work.

  4. Tee Hee…..no surprise that you know all the lines in that movie with Nic Cage – in fact, I bet you know MANY of the lines in MOST of his movies!! Hope you find a suitable dessert for your hubby for Thanksgiving – – – We rarely have room for dessert after our turkey dinner BUT desserts make a nice breakfast the next morning!

    Hugs, Pam

  5. If I could change anything! Well there’s a sentence that I could just fill up with all kinds of things that no one else wants to know. Some days I get so aggravated that when I say I’m going to die and come back as a dictator I’m going to eliminate all kinds of stuff. We’ll see if that ever happens, lol.

  6. Adorable pic of Angel Emmy posing with a turkey. Great fill-ins, and I agree with 4 days a week for school, and work. Family time is important, especially now.

  7. What a sweet photo of Angel Emmy. I bet a lot of kids would like if you were in charge of school!

  8. if catz waz in charge oh…polly tix….we wood change de hole damn systemz….N guyz..tell yur mom
if dad likez mice creem, de site…allrecipes…haza keto one ther that doez knot knead a masheen two make ‼️‼️😸🍦🍦

  9. A lot of workplaces and schools are going to 4-day plans, simply going longer hours and it’s working great for many of them. Keep agitating for it in your area.

Angel Emmy was so sweet, I’m thankful she posed with the turkey. Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday.

  10. These days I avoid social media outside this community; I’m sorry about what must have been an extremely embarrassing moment. Emmy was a doll. One of my favorite Nic Cage movie is “Raising Arizona”, a very quirky film. Best wishes, my dear.

  11. Sweet photo of Angel Emmy♥
I so believe #2! A four day school sounds interesting. I loved school better than being home so I might have been sad back in the day. But you are right about all the after school stuff kids do now. Our niece and nephews are never home… always on the run to sports stuff, music stuff and every other thing.
    My Fill-Ins this week~
    1. ______________________ was a faux pas I made once. I am drawing a blank… there are so many of them.
    2. I know every line of A Star is Born starring Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. Well, almost.
    3. I need a good recipe for chili that isn’t spicy.
    4. If I were in charge of making Famous Amos chocolate chip cookies, I would change them back to the way they were made when they first came out. The chocolate chips are not the same.
Have a good weekend, Meowing Crew and Peeps!

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I have never seen that movie. I saw the remake that had Lady Gaga and that was good. I would also like that recipe. XO

  12. Vegan Thanksgiving…How many vegans are involved? Do they want to do a mock turkey? Full disclosure: My late blog buddy, Grandma Bonnie Peters, was mostly a vegan but Thanksgiving was the one time a year she usually baked a real turkey, or at least a chicken, There’s always Tofurky or Worthington Turkey Slices (eatworthington dot com). I’ve never tested mock turkey recipes.

However, Vicki Griffin’s known for vegan recipes that are relatively easy to make from ingredients that are relatively easy to find, even for mock turkey. She’s not active online but her books are at all the book sale sites. Mary McDougall is currently featuring, at DrMcDougall dot com, a mock turkey recipe that involves yuba; she’s known for vegan recipes that lure the carnivores to the vegan table.

Traditional Thanksgiving dinners feature enough vegetables, grains, and fruits for vegans to fill up on. Any vegan pilaf or “stuffing” recipe that involves pecans and wild rice is a complete nutritious protein that feels splurgy. Add sweet corn, beans, potatoes, greens, and of course pumpkin pie, and vegans can gobble without HAVING TO bother about the turkey.

  13. 1. __The last time I was embarrased?__Existing is embarrasing. I stay home when I can, so I can be comfortable and blog with you guys, but I fell a couple of weeks ago at my dentist’s office. You know how sometimes it’s easy to trip on our own feet__ was a faux pas I made once.
    2. I know every line of __honestly, I wish I could learn the words to songs I like these days_.
    3. I need a good recipe for _ a food that is healthy to eat for lunch every day that’s satisfying too________.
    4. If I were in charge of _the calendar_, I would change __Daylight Savings Time_______

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I am sorry you fell at the dentist’s office though. If you get a recipe for a healthy lunch, please let me know. XO
