Finally Festivus!

Hi everyone! Happy Festivus! Thank you to all who sent photos and for all who are going to air grievances today. Let’s get started with the Feats of Strength-Festivus pole.

First, we have a celebrity guest- Summer.

She has also submitted  a photo for her grievance, can you guess what that is?

Next up is Fergus of Welcome to the Menagerie

And Thimble of Four-Legged Furballs

And Caroline of William of Mass Destruction

Mau from Kitties Blue really knows how to work a pole too

And last, but not least is Toby and his angel sister, Piper of Toby’s Wrecking Crew combining the pole and wrestling in one photo.

Time for a break, have some pretzels and if they make you thirsty, we have Snapple.

Have some soup too, but make sure you move quickly through the line or NO SOUP FOR YOU! Just kidding, I always wanted to say that.

And now for the wrestling

To start us off we have Ellie and Allie of Friends Furever

Now we have Wally and Ernie of The Island Cats

Dexter and Sophie of Three Chatty Cats really know how to fight too

Grizelda and Chloe Jo of McGuffy’s Reader know how to wrestle too

Toby and Angel Piper of Kitty of Toby’s Wrecking Crew are back again for wrestling

I hope I didn’t miss anyone. Now on to the grievances:

I am still mad about having to go to the vet in the cold , I didn’t get to see Grammie since Monday and I love her so very much. Rumor has it she bought Penny a pole for Christmas- when I wanted a pole, I had to earn my own money for it, I am sick of taking pills for my thyroid and prednisone twice a day. And the great one will be here Christmas Eve stealing on my Grammie’s attention. Your turn- please air those grievances in the comment section. Anyone that sent in a photos is entered in the giveaway. And all those who air grievances are entered too, that means 2 entries if you did both. And the prize is Season 9 of Seinfeld ( the one with the Festivus episode) and a Grinch catnip mat ( airing grievances right before Christmas is a little Grinch like 🙂 ) and 2 catnip toys.

Thank you all for coming, please take a badge.

And Mom still insists on doing her fill-ins even though this is my party.

1. I still need to _____________________ before Christmas.
2. My favorite episode of Seinfeld is ___________________.

3. What I really would like for Christmas is                                      .

4.  My favourite part of Christmastime is                                    .

Mom’s answers:
1. I still need to clean my house before Christmas-I tell people to wear black at their own risk, but I will attempt to de-fur everything.
2. My favorite episode of Seinfeld was when Jerry and Elaine were waiting for the chocolate babka, but all the episodes were great after season 1.
3. What I really would like for Christmas is To meet Nic Cage ( I just watched The Family Man).
4.My favourite part of Christmastime is Christmas music everywhere I go and on the radio.

  1. Mauricio has a grievance…that his horizontal pole-dancing photo was not acceptable and not posted with the others. On a brighter note, he was happy to see his beloved wife, Allie, representing! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

    1. We are very sorry we missed Mau’s photo- it is there now. Thank you for joining us. Happy Festivus!XO

  2. Wow, that’s a great collection of pole photos and wrestling. I’m not a Seinfeld fan so Festivus isn’t familiar to me, but I do have a grievance. Well, actually I had a grievance. Mom didn’t make my food creamy enough last time and it had too many little chunks in it that were hard to eat. She did much better with this batch so I really can’t complain.

  3. Oh, a Festivus for the rest of us! How we LOVE this day, but our Mom didn’t this year. And that’s just the start of our grievances! We just learned she didn’t buy us any presents this year except for some buzzy Hex Bug thing that quite frankly, is more annoying than “fun.” Dad’s slacked twice last week on playtime before bed and Mom took over his bedtime brushie sessions with us. It’s just not the same, trust us! Mom washed all our bedding and blankets on Monday and now, none of us remember where we slept because all our smells have been replaced with Snuggle dryer sheet smell! Dad bought us Sureflap feeders last month and we’re forced to eat from tiny plastic bowls now instead of the GI-NORMOUS open glass bowl most of us grew up with, not to mention having to stand there and wait one half nanosecond for the thing to open. So unfair! Quint and Pia got yelled at for chasing each other just tonight and Miss Newton’s name was mentioned in the same sentence as coal. How are we to get through this season with all that history behind us? Thank goodness we have a platform like Festivus in which to air our grievances ’cause we have plenty!

    1. WOW! That is a lot of grievances. The Hex Bug does look annoying and so do those sure flap bowls. 🙂 How awful to hear the word coal. And what is wrong with chasing each other- exericse is good for you. Try to have a Merry Christmas despite all those troubles and thank you for joining ion the Festivus fun.

  4. MOL…we loved Festivus. We meant to get into it but mom got sidetracked and…well, you know the rest. Perhaps next year.
We liked your fill-ins, Of course, Nic Cage would be in there. mew.

    Luvs,

    Shoko and Kali

  5. Happy Festivus! We sorry are you couldn’t use our pictures. We do have grievances.
Maggie says that she does get cream every day, but should.
Grizelda thinks that doorbells need to be banned.
Chloe Jo feels that Mom does not carry her everywhere.
George believes he should have the top of the cat tree all for himself.
And, Stella & Kenzie strongly feel Mom should let them have treats whenever they want them. Dad thinks so, too.
So…Festivus for the rest of us! And, hugs!

    1. Phoebe and I apologize for missing your photos, we did add one in. Phoebe is innocent, I am completely to blame. Chloe Jo, that would be nice to be carried everywhere. Grizelda, we all agree with you on the doorbell and everyone else had great grievances too. Happy Festivus!XO

  6. Phoebe, you sure know how to do that aggravated and annoyed look right! Bear’s biggest grievance is his lack of tasty whole chickens … though you and your Mom have at least partially made up for that with the crocheted chicken legs … they’re probably even funner than the real thing 😉 We almost forgot … we didn’t send out Christmas or holiday cards … but we’re wishing you a season full of love and peace.

    1. Thank you. I must say, I have perfected that look. Merry Christmas and a happy new year filled with tasty whole chickens 🙂

  7. Phoebe this is the best (and only!) Festivus party I’ve ever been to! Sorry I had no pole photos or wrestling photos to submit….but I CAN share some grievances. I might be an Angel but I still have one “left over” complaint! Whenever I had to go to the vet, Mom and Dad would gang up on me to capture me and force me to ride in the dreaded car. They’d wait until I was asleep then sneak up on me and pick me up while I was still asleep – cruel right? I have to admit though only having one complaint after almost 17 years is pretty good. I loved my life just the way it was……except for the vet visits…..!! This party is fabulous dear Phoebe – thanks for bringing Festivus to the Restofus…….brings back a lot of fun memories.

    Hugs and Meowy Christmas
    Angel Sammy

    1. That is an excellent grievance, none of us like being dragged to the vet in the PTU. I am glad you enjoyed the party. XO

  8. Those are great Festivus and wrasslin’ pictures! I like your fill-ins. I wish I could remember Seinfeld episodes better. I do remember the soup episode though! I like your fill-ins. I agree on #4. Annie & Pierrot shared their grievances on the their blog today. Thanks for hosting all this fun today!

  9. Happy Festivus! My goodness, look at all that pole dancing and wrestling skill! Thimble sure had a lot of fun posing for that photo shoot, that’s for sure. Now, all of the furbabies around here have many, many grievances to air. To spare room in this comments section, though, I told each of them that they could offer two grievances today.

Evan: 1. Not near enough butter is doled out around here. I need more butter. 2. Mom keeps shutting the front door. Who cares if it makes it cold in the house this time of year?

Thimble: 1. Mommy got toys for other kitties for Christmas, and she won’t let me have them. Even when I find them, she totally ignores the finders keepers rule. 2. The closet doors around here never reply when I talk to them. How rude.

Eddy: 1. Mom won’t let me slap the dog around. 2. Mom keeps letting people other than her into the house. Humans are a terrifying sort and should not be allowed in my house.

Astrid: 1. I don’t get fed near enough cat food. Who cares if I’m a dog? 2. The kitties love and rub on me too much. I know I’m super duper lovable, but why must they get all up in my face?!?

Toby: 1. My mom and auntie won’t let me and Evan wrestle to the death. They even taught Astrid to break up our duels. 2. My auntie won’t let me keep her socks all to myself. Or her favorite coat. What’s up with that?

Whew. That’s a lot of grievances. I apologize for our overuse of time and space here. We sure had a great time at this Festivus party, though! Thank you, Phoebe and all, for hosting it!

    1. =Great grievances, Evan, we have the same problem with butter 🙂 Thimble, finders keepers is a law so your Mom better give you those toys. Eddy, your Mom shouldn’t let scary people in the house, Astrid, you should get to eat cat food and Toby, you should get to keep any socks you want. Thanks for the grievances. Happy Festivus!

  10. Thanks for adding Mau’s picture. He has no more grievances as Mom says he lives the Life Of Riley…whatever that is! Astrid, however, does have a grievance, and it is against Misty May who is a big bully. She treats Astrid as if she were prey. She used to take out her aggression against Lily Olivia but switched to Astrid when she joined he family. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  11. I have a grievance: mom is currently playing on the internet instead of serving the second course of our breakfast. Also, she didn’t send in any pictures of me.

  12. Happy Festivus! This is such a fun post.
We are gathered around the scratching pole to air our grievances.
Maggie: The cats are not using the scratching pole. They prefer my legs, furniture and carpeting.
Rufus the Red: There are only 4 meals a day? What’s with that?
Mickey Mouser: As soon as I find a good place to curl up for a nap lately, this large orange cat comes and sits on me.
    xxoo

  13. My grievance is mommy made me go to the v-e-t and she hurted me a LOT with “something” she did to help my glands in a certain area…ahem. I am a lady after all. I was scared and helpless. But I do feel betters. xoxoxo

  14. What a great Festivus party! I love all the pictures. Dexter and Sophie were very excited to be included. Olive says she would never be caught wrestling like that. Too unladylike.

  15. Happy Festivus! My mom must have been into the nip–we completely missed the wrestling thing! And because there are mostly boys here, we have tons of wrestling photos. Which brings me to my airing–those little stoopy brothers are STILL HERE!

    ~Caroline!

  16. Me and my mum have never seen Seinfeld and didn’t know what Festivus was. Those are great photos from those who took part.

  17. These pretzels are making me thirsty! MOL We watch Seinfeld every day with Mommy. And I mean every day. I’m mad that Mommy made me go to the vet to get an enema! And I get upset when she tells me to get down because I’m smothering her. Some nerve! Now for Lexy… Mother makes me practically beg for supper. I’d starve to death if I didn’t remind her. And she needs to stop picking me up.

We won’t enter the contest because we have the whole Seinfeld collection. Festivus for the rest of us!

  18. Hooray for Festivus! I’m glad I got off my keister in time and got my Fergus photo in. He wouldn’t want to miss out. I’m sorry I had no wrestling photos to share…but that is the grievance Fergus would like to share.

He’s upset that Maggie absolutely will not wrestle with him. He’s tried sidling up to her, pouncing on her when she’s sleeping, mewling at her when she’s awake and bringing her toy gifts as a peace offering. Nothing doing. He wants roommates that are more fun.

    Happy Festivus!

Jean from Welcome to the Menagerie

  19. What a fun Festivus party! Mudpie is feeling totally left out…she doesn’t have a pole OR a fur sibling to wrestle with! She tells me she doesn’t have many grievances either, although her vet visit earlier this month wasn’t appreciated!

  20. Such a great party! My grievance is about having to miss out on one of my favorite Christmas events. The dog, Pepe, has a grievance with EnigmaSissyCat because she keeps attacking him. She has a grievance that there are dogs in the world at all. As far as i can tell, the rest of the cats are happy, at least for now.

  21. I had never heard of Festivus until @Nipclub started doing a Festivus party each year with the hashtag of #nipclub. We held that party a week ago and it’s always a big hit.

  22. Happy Festivus! Excellent poles and wrestling! And your grievance is marvelous.
Mes has a grievance…my Mommy! Mes thought mes would gets some attention when Kozmo, Jo Jo and my hairy slobber sister Cinnamon went back toMidway…but me has NOT!
Mes has been YELLED at for sharpening my claws on Mommy’s oriental rug! Mes has been told to stop liking Mommy’s hair, and Mommy has not buyed my favorite salmon treats! Mommy says them store is sold out but mes does NOT believe her!
Thanks yous for letting mes air my grievance.
    YOUS guys Rocks!
    Kisses
    Nellie

    1. I am so sorry your Mommy is being so mean to you Nellie. I hope Santa brings you some of your salmon treats. XO

  23. I’m sorry that you had to go to the vet in the cold and that you have to take the medicine. Sometimes we have to do things that we don’t particularly care to do so that we can be healthy. Believe me, I understand. I hope you will be okay and that you’ll be able to convince Grammie to give you lots of attention this weekend, too.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family!

  24. Well, we guess you have to watch this show to unnerstand this, cuz we are so lost it’s hillarious. MOL Anyways, great fotos. Sorry ’bout da Vet. We’re also behind as you purrobably noticed. Dat’s not funny. But alas, mommy has a list of ‘scuses. Anyways, da Card post was pawsum too. Merry Christmas to you all.

    Luv ya’

    Dezi and Raena

  25. ^^hangs head^^
Mee nevurr made it to Festivus….mee apawlogizess Purrincess Phoebe….
    Fingss went haywirey here….
Mee laffed at Summer’ss grievance; wee NEW it HAD to bee Binga foto bommin!!!!!
    ***paw kissesss*** an ~~head rubsss~~ Siddhartha Henry~~

  26. I’m not ashamed to admit this made me laugh, but I totally hope my cats don’t hear about this ‘airing of the grievances’ because I’m sure I’d hear it.. I currently have them convinced that complaining doesn’t work

  27. Minko says he gets annoyed when petcretary fishes him out from under the couch when it is time for him to eat…
Pipo says he still wants o=to evict dog-guy even after 12 years…what a pest is MJF…and so he beats him up at evfurry chance. even for no reason.
MJF says he wants a full bowl to snack from all day long. Why are my noms rationed.?

    1. I still need to work several shifts, clean up, finish decorating, and do some cooking before Christmas.
    2. My favorite episode of Seinfeld is I don’t know, I have nevfur watched this show, MOL!
    3. What I really would like for Christmas is to one day see all my three furs all curled up together. I think I am asking a bit much… .

    4. My favourite part of Christmastime is when the tree(s) are all lit up with the rest of the house lights turned off. So pretty! And of course going to Church to celebrate the reason we have Christmas! .

    1. Great answers. I hope you got all caught up in time for Christmas. It amazes me how many have never seen Seinfeld. I like the tree lights in the dark too, ours is still up until Jan 6th ( we wait for The 3 Kings and it is my hubby’s b’day).

      1. I had to make a quick take down this evening, because Minko decided it might be fun to chew the light wires..and he chewed right through the cord of the prelit tree…AARRGGHHHH! So now that tree is out of commision unless I put my own lights on it…sigh…
Its a good thing Minko is a loved kitty…I was quite annoyed. Then Pipo decided to play with the string of lights as I was taking it off that tree…insult to injury.
Cats…we love them and we hate em sometimes…well, their naughtiness.

        1. Yikes- chewing wires is so dangerous, I hope they weren’t plugged in. And good luck changing that strand, it took my hubby 8 hours to change one on that kind of tree. Every light has a clip on it and he is meticulous. This year he ended up just cutting the bad strand out.

  28. My grievance is that I have to work for a living!! I would much rather be doing things I want to instead what I have too!! Thanks for having photos of Toby and Angel Piper!!
