Caturday Saturday

Hi everyone. We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop. Being that I am reading The Andy Warhol Diaries, I figured I would use the Warhol effect on Lunapic.

Not sure if I am going to finish reading the book. I don’t like him as a person. He constantly insults people’s weight and there are many sad stories about cats in his diaries too. And some very crude things as well.

The puzzle is below.

  1. Hmm, that’s troubling to read. I’d thought that Warhol was maybe not too nice to people, but I’d thought he was probably good to cats. I’d be very sad to learn otherwise. Anyhoo, your art sure turned out nicely! XO

  2. Book not worth it, it sounds like….drop it. He was NOT everyone’s cup of tea….
So many other good books and my I recommend one: Wandering Through Life by Donna Leon, (who writes the Inspector Brunetti books on Venice) her memoire, beautifully written and often joyful and wry looks at the human condition, which mama loves.

  3. I don’t have any desire to read about him, have to say. Looks like you are wise not to finish something unpleasant to you. I sure wouldn’t either.

  4. I love the art effect! I wouldn’t finish reading the book either if it was not enjoyable. Though he was considered a prolific artist, I am not a fan of his work.

  5. I’ve quit many books when I realized that I didn’t care to know anymore about the characters or story.
Funny how often this happens with books that people rave about, and I’m like…yeah, no.
Off to puzzle…cool art, and thanks!

  6. He always struck me as a strange duck which can be acceptable burt meanness is a deal breaker for me. Sorry the book has left you feeling uncomfortable but at least you tried. Your artwork is pretty cool though.

  7. No sad cat stories and if you think he had anything to do with sad things involving cats, that he bullies people and he is crude, I trust your feelings and opinion. I really know very little about him. I think your art is fun and the puzzle will be fun to do!

  8. We don’t think Mom would like that book either, but we do like the art you created. Pretty colors.

  9. Nice effect, but life is too short to read a book that’s making you miserable. You only get just so much time, spend it on stuff you enjoy.

  10. Not great fans of Warhol – OR of his so-called “art”. But it turned out furry nicely in your own artification – no doubt because of the Subject Matter!

  11. Chaplin: “Hmm, sounds like maybe the best thing to come out of Andy Warhol was that 90s alt-rock band ‘The Dandy Warhols’.”
Lulu: “Our Dada used to try to read every book he started but at some point he decided life is too short—”
Charlee: “I bet I know what point that was.”
Lulu: “—and now if he doesn’t like a book he quits it and rates it one star and leaves a scorching one or two line blurb to warn his friends off it.”
