A Street Cat Named Bob DVD

HI everyone! Prancie has a little crush on Bob.

I finally got the dvd from the library. It was a good movie, but not nearly as good as the book. For those of you who have had your head buried in a litter box, this is the story of how a stray cat helped a recovering drug addict stay clean. I think almost all of you are familiar with his story.

My husband had not read the book so he loved the movie. He insisted his little orange cat

( Prancie) sit on his lap while watching it too πŸ™‚

Aww. Cat daddies are extra special. Prancie’s beautiful. I haven’t read the book or seen the movie – but I”m so glad you posted about this so I’d get on it!

  2. I haven’t seen it, but my human has. She liked it, and it was fun to know that Bob played himself (although she wasn’t 100% sure most of the time when it was Bob and when it was a stand-in).

  3. The book is on out to do list and I’ll have mom see if our library has the movie. Prancie looks great modeling the DVDs!!

  4. We’ve always thought the story of Bob and his “caretaker” was super special – I bet it was a great movie!

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy

  5. I love that your husband insisted Prancie enjoy the movie with him! I haven’t seen the movie but I want to. I have read a couple of Bob books and I enjoyed them. Have you ever read any of Deric Longden’s books about his cats? The first one I read was “The Cat Who Came In From The Cold” and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
    Good Morning!

  10. We had not heard about this book or movie we will keep an eye out for them. Thanks for sharing about them, sounds like a great story. Cats and dogs are amazing. Hugs and nose kisses

  11. I haven’t heard of that book or movie either. I must have my head buried in a litter box, MOL!

    Prancie is a sweetie!
Pipo loves to be on pawppy’s lap, the more when petcretary is not around…he has always been a Daddy’s boy:)
Minko seemed to gravitate to petcretary…esp at her desk.

    1. Sorry, I hope you weren’t offended by that comment. I had written about the books, but that was a long time ago and you may not have been following the blog back then. Prancie is a sweet cat, in the morning, she gets between us in bed and purrs her little head off.
I am sure your Mom and Dad are both missing Minko. XO

      1. Oh, I hadn’t even thought of it that way, MOL!

I miss Minko’s singing to the mousies…and I just discovered the last pictures I made on a busy day…I had forgotten about them:(
He was playing and singing with his mousie.

        1. That is good that you have the photos. I am sure that was adorable when Minko sang to his mousie. XO

  12. I need to remind Mom to turn on that movie for me to watch. I wonder if my auntie has read the book – she reads all the time. I’ll have to ask her. Prancie looks like a lil’ ginger, snuggle bunny!

  13. We haven’t read the book or seen the movie. Our mommy avoids movies or books about cats because she thinks they make her cry. Probably because they usually do. This sounds like a good one to check out anyway!

    1. I think she will like this one because Bob is still alive and well. So often, the cat has already passed when the book comes out.

  14. street cat bob total lee rocks; we haz all his books but de last…..we wundered bout de moovee; thanx for sharin; sum times they due knot live up TO de book…ya noe ~ πŸ™‚ β™₯β™₯

  15. We love that Prancie watched the movie with you and your husband. Did he give paws up or down? We hope there was popcorn.
    xxoo
Maggie, Mickey Mouser, and Rufus the Red

    1. He liked it more than I did because he didn’t read the book. There is always popcorn πŸ™‚ XO

  16. Cat Daddies are just so wonderful. Prancie, you be sure to snuggle with him tonight. Phoebe…sleep with mama.

  17. Mum also enjoyed this movie.
While we are happy to be indoor cats, we know there are some amazing cats out there .
    Bob is one πŸ™‚

  18. I’m lucky enough to live in an area where this played in theaters. I loved it simply because it’s James and Bob. But yes, the book was much better. But I had to buy the DVD. πŸ™‚
