HI everyone! Prancie has a little crush on Bob.
I finally got the dvd from the library. It was a good movie, but not nearly as good as the book. For those of you who have had your head buried in a litter box, this is the story of how a stray cat helped a recovering drug addict stay clean. I think almost all of you are familiar with his story.
My husband had not read the book so he loved the movie. He insisted his little orange cat
( Prancie) sit on his lap while watching it too π
How nice to have a movie night. Did you get popcorn and candy!
Yes to popcorn, but no candy.
I love the story. I have the books. This is a great review! I was happy to see Prancie, too. β€
Thank you π It is a beautiful story of how they rescue one another.
“He insisted his little orange cat (Prancie) sit on his lap … ”
Aww. Cat daddies are extra special. Prancie’s beautiful. I haven’t read the book or seen the movie – but I”m so glad you posted about this so I’d get on it!
Prancie thanks you. I think you will love the book and movie. XO
I haven’t seen it, but my human has. She liked it, and it was fun to know that Bob played himself (although she wasn’t 100% sure most of the time when it was Bob and when it was a stand-in).
Bob is a smart boy and so calm.
Oh, I haven’t read the book (and I didn’t know the story either). Thank you for sharing! I’ll try to get the book from my library.
You’re welcome. I think you will enjoy it.
The book is on out to do list and I’ll have mom see if our library has the movie. Prancie looks great modeling the DVDs!!
Make sure you read the book first though. π Prancie thanks you. XO
We’ve always thought the story of Bob and his “caretaker” was super special – I bet it was a great movie!
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
It was a nice movie, I do love their story. XO
I love that your husband insisted Prancie enjoy the movie with him! I haven’t seen the movie but I want to. I have read a couple of Bob books and I enjoyed them. Have you ever read any of Deric Longden’s books about his cats? The first one I read was “The Cat Who Came In From The Cold” and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Good Morning!
I have that book from a book sale, but have yet to read it.
I have somehow neither read this book nor watched the movie. I am going to have to remedy that. And I love that Prancie watched it with you!
It would be nice for a movie night, but read the book first for all the details.
I must read this book before I watch the movie!
Good idea π
Ellen,
Family night at the movies is always nice in one’s living room is an excellent way to spend the evening. Thanks for sharing! π
You’re welcome π
It never ceases to amaze me how much difference our animal friends can make in our lives.
They sure can.
Oh, that Prancie! <3
π
I have the movie on hold at the library and have been meaning to re-read the book. It’s a good story.
Yes, it is.
I have seen the movie too and agree, it is not as good as the book but fun to see.
You all have a great day.
It was nice to see Bob playing himself, he is a cutie. I hope you had a great day too.
I hadn’t heard of it, but I know cats can be very healing in all sorts of circumstances.
<3 ^-.-^
They sure can.

Sounds like books often are far better than movies.
Have a purrfect day, Prancie. My best to your peeps. βΊ
Very true π Peeps send their best.
We think Bob is pretty darn special!
He sure is π
OH! I didn’t know that the movie was out on DVD…well, duh! Off to the library for me!
It hasn’t been out that long π
We had not heard about this book or movie we will keep an eye out for them. Thanks for sharing about them, sounds like a great story. Cats and dogs are amazing. Hugs and nose kisses
I think you will like the book and dvd. I agree, they are amazing. XO
I haven’t heard of that book or movie either. I must have my head buried in a litter box, MOL!
Prancie is a sweetie!
Pipo loves to be on pawppy’s lap, the more when petcretary is not around…he has always been a Daddy’s boy:)
Minko seemed to gravitate to petcretary…esp at her desk.
Sorry, I hope you weren’t offended by that comment. I had written about the books, but that was a long time ago and you may not have been following the blog back then. Prancie is a sweet cat, in the morning, she gets between us in bed and purrs her little head off.
I am sure your Mom and Dad are both missing Minko. XO
Oh, I hadn’t even thought of it that way, MOL!
I miss Minko’s singing to the mousies…and I just discovered the last pictures I made on a busy day…I had forgotten about them:(
He was playing and singing with his mousie.
That is good that you have the photos. I am sure that was adorable when Minko sang to his mousie. XO
I need to remind Mom to turn on that movie for me to watch. I wonder if my auntie has read the book – she reads all the time. I’ll have to ask her. Prancie looks like a lil’ ginger, snuggle bunny!
Prancie is a sweetie. I hope you get to watch the movie.
We haven’t read the book or seen the movie. Our mommy avoids movies or books about cats because she thinks they make her cry. Probably because they usually do. This sounds like a good one to check out anyway!
I think she will like this one because Bob is still alive and well. So often, the cat has already passed when the book comes out.
street cat bob total lee rocks; we haz all his books but de last…..we wundered bout de moovee; thanx for sharin; sum times they due knot live up TO de book…ya noe ~ π β₯β₯
I have all his book too π He is a sweet boy. XO
Movies don’t generally outshine their films, but since Bob is a real cat, it would be nice to actually “see” him in the film.
Very true π It was nice to see Bob in the film, he is a smart cat.
We love that Prancie watched the movie with you and your husband. Did he give paws up or down? We hope there was popcorn.
xxoo
Maggie, Mickey Mouser, and Rufus the Red
He liked it more than I did because he didn’t read the book. There is always popcorn π XO
I don’t know this one but I bet my mom knows it. These are her kinda reads π She eats em up.
It is a good one π
Geez, I got the DVD the day it came out and STILL haven’t had chance to watch it! Maybe over the holiday weekend π
I hope you get a chance over the weekend to see it.:)
Cat Daddies are just so wonderful. Prancie, you be sure to snuggle with him tonight. Phoebe…sleep with mama.
Phoebe is stingy with the cuddles. Sammy or Joanie will cuddle me though. π
Mum also enjoyed this movie.
While we are happy to be indoor cats, we know there are some amazing cats out there .
Bob is one π
Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ
He sure is π
I haven’t read the book or seen the movie. I need to get busy!
Now that you retired, maybe you will have time to do both . π
We keep hearing it is a good book so will have to ask Dad to read it to us
Good idea, you will all enjoy it π
Sounds like movie time with Dad was a hit!
It was, but he didn’t read the book.
Books are always better than the movies. π
Very true. π
Having heard the story, I should read the book. Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome π
Oh, we have to see the movie, even if it’s not so good as the book, we just have to…MOL π Pawkisses π <3
It is good π XO
I have not read the book. I may watch the movie first and then read the book
I would do it the other way around to have a better idea of everything.
We love the book and the movie. Bob is one amazing little guy!
Purrs xx
Athena and Marie
He sure is π XO
I’m lucky enough to live in an area where this played in theaters. I loved it simply because it’s James and Bob. But yes, the book was much better. But I had to buy the DVD. π
I enjoyed both too, just the book a little more.
I really need to get off my duff and see that movie. I too loved the book
It amazed me that Bob played himself.
