#PetPraising Selfies

Hi everyone! This week we are doing #PetPraising selfies that we plan to enter on Purina’s website for a chance to win a photo shoot and be featured on RealSimple.com.You should all enter too. You can print out a sign like we did or just upload your photo and add the sign on the website.

I got to see Grammie on Saturday. I love her so very much.

I wrote my second article for The Daily Mews. It is about how I have been trying to help Mom and KaTwo lose weight to no avail. Click here to read it.

Sammy had fun at the derby, here is a photo of him with beautiful Maggie.

We are joining The Cat on my Head’s Sunday Selfie Blog Hop.

  1. Good luck with the weight loss advice. Does it include herbs/spices, which help burn fat? IE: Black pepper improve your digestive system and helps to burn fat at a faster rate; turmeric increases body heat, which, in turn, can boost metabolism; ginger can help prevent a spike in your glucose levels after a sugar- or carb-rich meal. The spice also has the same fat-burning, or thermogenic, properties as turmeric; and if you don’t mind stinky breath, garlic can help burn fat.

    1. Thank you, I will suggest these things to Mom for this month and see how she does- she is hopeless.

      1. Cinnamon helps with bold sugar too. And lemon juice in water…sip up to half your body weight in ounces each day. Limit coffee, but green tea is thermogenic, as is rooibos tea. If you add lemon (pure from organic lemons as the ordinary ones have pesticides on them…), that ups the antioxidant effects too. Green coffee bean is a carb blocker, raspberry ketones help, and moringa is good too.
Avoid dairy, (Including cow milk, yogurt, kefir, etc.), anything processed or artificial and try to avoid most grains. Stick with the basics: Fresh lean meat, cold water fish such as wild salmon, lots of green leafy veggies, and most other veg, except white potatoes, and other white root veggies as those are mostly carbs and not much else. Do not drink sodas. avoid anything with added sugar, or sweeteners. hose affect the nervous system and can make you stay overweight, and or have cravings.

        Think like this for meals:
Protein 93% or greater lean ground beef, not more than about 4oz of other lean red meat, skinless chicken breast, fat removed. 4-6 oz fish.
Fats (good ones like raw nuts, avocadoes and olive and coconut oils) Yes you need fats…the good ones!
Fiber: from fruit and veggies and a few types of whole grains in limited amounts such as whole steel cut oats, quinoa, and long grain brown rice. (but avoid those if possible, until after you have lost the weight.) Wheat is a belly fat maker…

Eat something from each of the three groups at each meal. Have one snack, and beverages as noted above ad lib. Limit fruit to no more than one or two servings a day.

Use almond or other similar milks instead of dairy.

Check Zero Belly for info. (David Zinczenko)

        Eat hearty!!!

        1. Thank you for all these great tips. I am so addicted to chocolate and carbs though. I did buy almond milk today , the vanilla one and I could get used to it, it is not that bad. I will try some of these others too.

  2. I love Brodie’s “Work of Art” photo! I tried to convince Binga that hers should say “Piece of Work,” but she didn’t bite… or rather, she tried to bite!

  3. Cute signs! Good luck with the Purina contest……..thanks too for coming to the Derby even though the Scouts site was “up and down” yesterday!!! Have a super Sunday!

    Love, Teddy

  4. Oh, I just love all these! I got a kick out of dishwasher, and Brody’s is so adorable.

Phoebe, I’ll check out your article. I sure enjoyed your last one.

  5. We love these! It’s such a great idea to focus on all of the positive attributes of our pets! Who doesn’t need a free alarm clock? πŸ™‚

  6. What a good job. Mom printed out the sign yesterday so we can do this too! It appears as if you all have your own specific jobs. Thanks for hopping. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy

    1. Thank you πŸ™‚ When we uploaded the photos with our signs, they wouldn’t accept them so we had to fill in the sign on their website. We hope you have better luck. XO

    1. Thank you for taking the time to read the article πŸ™‚ Make sure you enter your cats in the Purina contest too.

  7. Awww, so precious. I’m glad you got to see Grammie. We all know you love her so very much.

Have a purrfect day. My best to your wonderful mom. ☺

  8. Oh, what a purrfect idea pet praising is. And your selfies are all certainly praiseworthy! We also think your article is fantastic, Phoebe. Maybe you could give some pole dancing lessons, to help others look as gorgeous as you!

    1. Thank you πŸ™‚ We just found out we can only enter 2 a day so we have to finish entering tomorrow and Tuesday.

  9. keep trying with the weight loss campaign. I recommend more protein (mice) and less carbs (pasta and pizza) works well for me! Love the selfies with signs, in act I am doing some for my peep if the diet doesn’t work, “Caution, Wide Load”. MOL
    Purrs, ERin

    1. You are too funny πŸ™‚ I don’t think Mom will eat a mouse, but KaTwo might. πŸ™‚

  10. Love your pet praising selfies! We have alarm clock kitties here, too, and I appreciate them for their service every morning πŸ™‚

  11. We checked into that too, but petcretary didn’t want to jump through all the hoops to get in there.
But we sure enjoyed reading all your cool signs! Love Brody’s!!

    Have a wonderful week!

  12. Great article!

We both need to watch our weight too as we like to comfort eat when stressed. And it’s been very stressy lately at ours as we’re trying to sell our home and move to a nicer one.

    Purrs xx
    Athena and Marie

    1. Thank you. We hope you can sell your home so you can be in a nicer area and relax. XO

  13. I bet your grammie loved seeing you, too! Wow, you all keep so busy with all the hops! I love Sammy’s derby pic! He looks so sophisti-cat-ed! Purrs!

  14. We like that all your signs indicate your job description/purpose in the family πŸ™‚

the critters in the cottage xo

  15. I hope one of you will win the contest, you all look so cute πŸ™‚ I have read the weight loss…none tips, Phoebe. I have lost a few pounds when Granny started to give me natural food. I ate Gourmet gold mousse, Purina food (sorry Purina ) and Kit-e-Kat and a few treats, but then I got bigger and bigger and my stomach couldn’t handle anymore of these foods. Granny didn’t get me on a diet, but she changed this food to natural food. There’s to much sugar in those kinds of food, at least, that is what she found out and I started to formit too. So now I am on Applaws and Almo nature, cans and dry food and I started to lose weight. The only thing that I didn’t liked was that I didn’t eat in the morning anymore, because I missed my Gourmet mousse, so Granny gives me every morning half a can of it and I feel satisfied ever since. Maybe you already knew this, but in case not…
For human it is the same. Everything you eat that is prepared in the fabric is not good for your body. Try to eat nothing with more than 5 ingredients inside of it. Your body can’t get rid of it and stores it. Natural food is the best, including fat (your brains get happy from that πŸ˜‰ . Granny loves chocolate too. She eats only dark chocolate of 75% or more..daily…MOL πŸ˜€ Pawkisses for a wonderful day πŸ™‚ <3

    1. Thank you for the tips, I am so bad about eating chocolate and Doritos, chips, etc. And KaTwo won’t eat canned food so she eats too much dry food. XO
