Y is for Yarned and Dangerous

Hi everyone! Today is Y day for the A-Z Blogging Challenge. And we are recommending Yarned and Dangerous by Sadie Hartwell. This was another fiction book that caught my attention because there was a cat in it and yarn too.

A young woman named Josie returns to a small Connecticut town to help her great uncle who was injured in a car crash. That crash killed his new wife and Josie is also there to help close the yarn store she owned. As she does this, a body of one of the knitters in town shows up and she begins to realize that accident maybe wasn’t an accident after all. She brings her cat with her and he is mentioned several times. phoebe3

I am yarned and dangerous too! I can’t believe my Mom made me wait a whole day to write my post- phooey! I did get to see my Grammie on Wednesday- I love her so very, very much. And she is going to see me tonight too.

My Mom is driving me crazy, she binge watches a show called Flip or Flop on HGTV. These people buy houses and are supposed to improve them and sell them for more money. I don’t understand, they don’t look improved to me. They never add cat trees, wall carpets, water fountains or ceiling walkways. Those people that buy these houses are pretty stupid if you ask me.

  1. Meowmy likes that flip or flop, too, MOL!! Since we live in an old rather run down house from 1907, she thinks some of the homes they want ot work on would be more than acceptable to her, OMC!

You look purrty in all that yarn, Phoebe!

That sounds like quite the mystery tail…

And we are glad you got to have good Grammie time again:)

    1. I am a lucky kitty girl. Does your Meowmy watch Love it or List it? That is another one my Mom likes too. Dad threatened to hide the remote control. MOL!

  2. Our watches that one too. We never thought about the fact that they never make cat friendly houses. That does stink. The book sounds like fun. You look cute with your mom’s yarn, Phoebe. We are so happy you got to see your Grammie. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

    1. I bet cat friendly houses would sell even better than regular houses. Thank you, I like to help Mom crochet.

  3. You look great Phoebe in all that yarn – just don’t swallow any!! We’re glad you got to spend some time with your Grammie – she LOVES you so much!!! Great review! I think mom would have to quit work and stay home furever if she wants to read all the books on her ‘to-read’ list!!

    1. I won’t swallow it- my Mom just let me use it for a photo shoot then she took it away- phooey! I hope your Mom gets to read all these books.

  4. I think I might be happy we don’t have cable TV or my Mom would probably binge watch that too!! That would mean time away from ME ME ME ME!

    Love, Sammy

  5. Hehehe..Phoebe, you look good between all the yarn. You just reminded Granny of her cat in her childhood. Muschy (that’s the name of her cat) was playing with the yarn, also blue, and made a whole web out of it in the living room, so they couldn’t get inside of the room anymore, before cutting it all into pieces πŸ˜€ Have fun with your Grammie! Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend πŸ™‚ <3

    1. That kitty must have had a lot of fun with the yarn. That is a sweet memory. Hope you have a nice weekend Lil Binky and Granny too. XO

  6. MOL great title, I can see the P.A. will be adding this one to her library too! MOL

She’s just been reading the Leighann Dobbs novels – Mystic Notch Cozy Mystery Series – one after the other, and has nearly reached the end, so she’ll be needing something new to read.

    Thanks fur sharing

  7. This book sounds like a great read. I also love that you’re yarned and dangerous, Phoebe! And I’m glad you’re getting to see your grammie a lot this week. As for the TV show, it sure is ridiculous that those people aren’t building those houses based on kitties. Everyone knows a real house is one centered around cats! Purrs!

  8. We think Christina would be more open to adding Cat improvements to their properties than Tarek. We think you should have your Mom write a letter to HGTV and tell them Phoebe said so. That’ll get their attention for sure.
We have not read Yarned and Dangerous so we will check it out.

  9. Phoebe, you are on to something there! I watch that show too, and only once do I remember a cat mentioned…and I think it was left by to previous owner! The show never mentioned again what happened to that cat…I can only hope it went to the people’s new home. Turek doesn’t seem like a cat-man; too nervous…

  10. That sounds like a fun book. I keep my yarn locked up and know that one of these days, Purrseidon will figure out how to unlock the door and get to ‘yarnia’….
BTW, Phoebe, I agree that you should write a letter to HGTV and tell them your ideas. If they took your advice, the episode would probably be their top rated one.

    1. Good idea, I bet Purrseidon can get through a child-proof lock. πŸ™‚ I want my own show on HGTV πŸ™‚

  11. Absolutely a book that every cat guardian should have on hand- especially to share with newbies to kitties.

Yarn is a dangerous thing for kitties- and I wonder why there are so many pictures of cats playing with balls of wool. I don’t think that is a good idea at all. Thanks for introducing us to this book!

  12. Hi Phoebe, We loved your review of the book. We still have mom read to us and dad every night and we run out of books a lot. We’ll keep this one in mind.
So glad your grammie is coming over. Time for some sweet lovin’ from someone other than your mom…not sayin’ there’s anything wrong with your mom…just sayin’ is all.

Mom watches HGTV while she’s getting supper and during supper. She likes to watch peeps buying houses. She and dad guess which house they’ll buy. Dad is always right! Mom asked him how he knew and he said whichever one the wife wants is the one they’ll buy. He also said…”Happy wife, happy life.” MOL Guess he’s seen mom unhappy a number of times.

    1. Those are words that all men should live by- Happy wife, Happy life. πŸ™‚ I hope your Mom is happy now.

  14. That’s a great title for a book! Our mommy watches Flip or Flop too along with so many other HGTV shows. Nobody decorates for kitties so we just don’t understand the lure of those shows.

  15. Phoebe my Mom likes to watch that hgtv station a lot too. Her favorite is House Hunters! Wow sounds like a great book!!! Happy Friday.

  16. Phoebe, you do look yarned and kinda dangerous . . . or maybe just a little kooky! ;p We are glad you were able to see your Grammie πŸ™‚

  21. Hi! Sadie Hartwell here. Thanks so much for reading Yarned and Dangerous! The cat on the cover is named Coco. I don’t know if it’s okay for me to post this here, but the ebook is on sale for the next week or so ($2.99, regular price $9.99). I don’t want to spam readers so I won’t post a link. You’ll be able to find it πŸ™‚ And keep reading the cozy mysteries!

    1. I will post a link on tomorrow’s post- thank you for writing, I know a lot of readers are interested in your book. I hope you are working on a sequel πŸ™‚
