Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.
1. My _____________is __________________because _____________________.
2. I stopped _____________________________because ______________________________.
3. I’m _________ away from _________.
4. _________ is the scariest experience I’ve ever had in my own home.
My answers:
1. My house is in need of a cleaning because I have been busy and lazy.
2. I stopped shopping at Hobby Lobby because they don’t sell Halloween items. I know they are religious, but Halloween is a fun thing, not something evil so this is my way of protesting.
3. I’m a couple decorations away from being fully decorated for Halloween. I am very slow this year.
4. Having to call 911 when my hubby’s appendix burst in 1999 is the scariest experience I’ve ever had in my own home. We had no idea what was wrong, he was in tremendous pain on his left hip instead of his right side. We were told it was sympathetic pain. And had no idea his appendix burst until they did exploratory surgery.
We are joining Feline Friday now hosted by Messymimi.
My flashback is from October of 2022. Angels Emmy and Joanie were hanging out together.

Cute picture of Angels Emmy and Joanie. Good fill-ins and I’m so glad they were able to find and fix your husband’s appendix problem! XO
Thank you. 🙂 Have a nice weekend. XO
Angels Emmie and Joanie were being cozy together.
1. My fence is finally fixed_because the friend fianlly was able to come out with the right things to get it ‘un-squished’.
2. I stopped working on a regular schedule because I felt hubby needed mew to be home more, and I was tired of all the weekends working and missing out on so many things.
3. I’m 447 miles away from my new great nephew.
4. Seeing hubby having grand mal seizures is the scariest experience I’ve ever had in my own home.
I am sorry your husband had such a bad seizure. That must have been very scary. I am sure your husband appreciates your being home with him. Xo
Yikes! That is a scary occurrence having a husband in pain for an unknown reason but it’s wonderful it turned out alright. I need to do a BIG cleaning but I really don’t feel motivated – maybe after our vacation I’ll be more focused on things that need to be done around here!! I have loved Halloween forever – but even THAT has changed over the years…..I love the “old fashioned” Halloween fun with kids trick or treating.
Hugs, Pam
I don’t think I will ever not love Halloween. XO
There was two angels are just as beautiful as they could have been. That was a scary thing about your husband with the surgery and not knowing what was wrong until they opened him up. I was in Hobby Lobby in September and they were filled with Halloween decorations or maybe it was just Autumn decorations. Anyway I remember seeing lots of oranges and black and decorations. I drove a hundred miles yesterday to go to the only Michaels anywhere near and they had some Halloween decorations.
Thank you. 🙂 They have a lot of fall decor, but not Halloween. I love Michael’s, they always have the best Halloween decorations. XO
That was very scary for you and hubby! Lovely flashback of Angels Emmy and Joanie.
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Such sweet pics of Angels Emmy and Joanie. What a scary thing to go through with your hubby, especially since medical professionals didn’t know what it was right away.
Thank you. Yes, it was. XO
The Lady hasn’t decorated much for Halloween this year. She says that we get so few trick or treaters, it’s not worth it. She did put mums and pumpkins on the front porch though.
We don’t get trick or treaters, but I like to decorate for my great nieces and nephew.
I had similar experiences with my appendix. I had chronic appendicitis for 10 years which they never diagnosed because my pain was in the wrong spot (and so was my appendix!). I changed doctors and he scheduled an exploratory surgery after my first attack with him. I was surprised when I tried to get Halloween items at Hobby Lobby. I don’t think of it as a bad holiday but their religious beliefs are different from mine.
That was a long time to have gone undiagnosed. Same here with Hobby Lobby.
Chaplin: “Our Dada is adding that to the list of reasons we already won’t shop at Hobby Lobby!”
Charlee: “That sounds super scary about your hubby’s appendix! The first time our Dada had a kidney stone many years ago he thought it might be his appendix, but he called his own Mama who is a nurse and she told him the pain was on the wrong side. He still ended up in the emergency room for it though.”
Lulu: “I’ll bet you can guess what the scariest experience Dada ever had in our own home is. It wasn’t the kidney stone …”
Yes, I know what your Dada’s scary experience was- very scary. Thanks for protesting with me about Hobby Lobby. 🙂
Your answer to #4 sounds really terrifying. How very scary.
Cute picture of Angels Emmy and Joanie.
It was. Thank you. XO
Just saw the fill ins so I will answer here
1. no answer for this
2. I stopped making 10 cups of Peets coffee each morning (now I make 8) because the price of the excellent coffee has doubled over the last 4 months. It is now 14.99 for a 10.5 oz bag unless on sale. I only buy it when on sale for 9.99. WE only grind fresh beans for morning coffee.
3. no answer for this
4. On September 3, ‘Tripping on the garage steps while trying in the midst of transferring food from old fridge in the kitchen to garage fridge in preparation for our new fridge to be delivered’ is the scariest
experience I’ve ever had in my own home. I was very lucky not to break any bones just had a bad twisted ankle…with swelling and bruising which took 6 weeks to feel 95% normal
Hugs cecilia
Coffee prices are crazy. I can’t even get the kind of low acid one I was getting because it is out of stock. I am sorry you had that accident. That is scary. XO
Emmy and Joanie♥
Yes, Hubby’s burst appendix would of scared me for sure. I did not know that Hobby Lobby does not sell Halloween items. We haven’t shopped there in years. Our nearest Hobby Lobby is an hour away. I haven’t really decorated for Halloween this year. It does not feel like fall here and I am not feeling festive… yet 🙂
My Fill-Ins~
1. My mind is too distracted because of the state of our United States.
2. I stopped sitting on the lanai because we have a hawk that has claimed the neighbor’s tree.
3. I’m too many temperature degrees away from a real fall season 🙁
4. Hurricanes Ian and Milton are the scariest experience I’ve ever had in my own home.
Ellen, have a wonderful time in Maine!
Yes, it was very scary. Thank you for these great answers. I am glad our weather has cooled- I love it. The hurricanes must have been scary. XO
Mom stopped decorating some time ago because her kids are all grown and gone and she’s just a poop. There are many things I would love destroying if she would only put them up.
Love seeing the two Angels again. XXXX
She should put them up for you. 🙂 Thank you. 🙂 XO
Oh wonderful post and photos ~ love the kitties ~ hugs,

Thank you. 🙂 XO
Egads, that is a scary experience!
Lovely image of Angels Emmy and Joanie.
Yes, it was. Thank you. 🙂
Adorable picture. I didn’t put out quite as much Halloween as I usually do this year. I was trying to decorate while Mo was so sick and my heart wasn’t really in it.
I understand how you feel. XO
A burst appendix is very scary, I’m glad they figured it out and took care of him.
I’m glad Angels Emmy and Joanie were friends. Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday!
Thank you, me too. XO
Cute flashback. I have a ceramic pumpkin on my table, but I bought it for fall decor. I love seeing the Halloween decorations in the neighbourhood. I live in a condo, so unfortunately can’t do any outdoor decorating.
I don’t do much outside because it blows away. I just had 2 witch hats blow away yesterday. 🙂
Sending lots of soothing purrs to the sweet furries after the vet visit
Hugs Cecilia
Thank you. 🙂 XO
What a sweet flashback pic. Hobby Lobby doesn’t sell Halloween decor?? What the heck. People are just going overboard trying to make religious commentary. We don’t shop there either and this is just another reason why I don’t. Lovely fill ins. Have a great weekend.
Thank you. 🙂 Glad I am not the only one who is annoyed by them. Hope you have a nice weekend too. xO
OMC #4 we can imagine that it was terrifying, and we’re so glad it turned out fine🙏#1 we can’t believe that you’re lazy with all the kitties, you musth have been busy all the time🙈Double Pawkisses for a wonderful weekend to all of you🐾😽💞
Thank you. 🙂 They do keep me on my toes. 🙂 XO
That is scary about your hubby. I’m so glad they found the cause of his pain. A ruptured appendix can be fatal which is super scary! Hobby Lobby is a nice company. I admire their commitment. Halloween decorations should be easy to find elsewhere since it’s quite popular. 🙂
It is a nice company, but I still think they should have Halloween items. XO
Pawss down wee agree Aunty Ellen! What you went thru with Unkell David was terryfyin!!! Wee hope nothin like THAT happenss again!!
What a sweet foto of Emmy an Joanie! They were so adoorbss…
**nose kissess** BellaDharma an (((hugss))) BellaSita Mum
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Really cute photos! Yay for Halloween decorations. And I had no idea that Hobby Lobby doesn’t have them. Didn’t they used to. I know ours did. I haven’t been i a long long time though. It’s not fair! 🙂
Thank you. 🙂 No, I think they always only had fall stuff. XO
Your fill-ins are fantastic, as always! I should have put your answer for my own #1, as my house is currently a disaster zone. And your #4 sounds terrifying. I’m so glad your husband recovered!
Hello to sweet Angels Emmy and Joanie! I love seeing memories of your angels. Purrs!
Thank you. 🙂 XO
