Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone. Before my post, I want to offer deepest sympathies to Lorianne for the loss of her sweet pup, Astrid. To visit, click here.

We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Thank you all for your kind words on yesterday’s post. I am thankful for all of you.

I am thankful that my niece and I were given the chance to go through her mother’s house yesterday. When she passed 3 years ago, we had taken most of her things, but not all.  She had bought the house with her boyfriend in 2020 and had it put in the deed that if she passed, it belonged to him. I wrote a while back how we found out of his sudden passing over a year after the fact. The bank foreclosed and sold it, but his family was not responding so my niece was contacted to sign something (no worries, her lawyer looked it over). She asked if we could go in and the attorney for the bank met us there and waited patiently while we spent an hour going through everything. We recovered many photo albums and photos including one that my mom thought was long gone.

Here is my poem for Angel Sammy’s Poetry Day to go with this fun prompt.

Haven’t you ever seen a bear exercise?
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

  1. We’re so sorry to learn of the loss of Astrid and we send our sympathy to her people. It’s good that you got to go through your niece’s mom’s house and recover the photos! That’s a funny poem and picture! XO

  2. Great poem…so funny and PERFECT. We grinned and beared it, haha. Remember Grin and Bear It…a long ago book of humor? You’re probably too young…
