Hi everyone. I know you weren’t expecting to see me today.
Well, Penny told me even though it is a Tuesday post, it would be written on Monday which was Labor Day and she has seniorority and was not working. Plus, she is still mad at mom for the vet trip last week. Her allergy meds are not helping so she had an antibiotic shot and a steroid shot. In 2 weeks, she will be on prednisone pills to keep her skin issues under control.
I checked Mom’s appointment book and Brody’s dental is scheduled for October 15th , I guess that was the soonest date the vet had. Brody has been good about taking his meds. He is on 2 heart pills and a potassium supplement.
It has been a quiet week with no kids around. Dad’s Silver Queen corn is really tall and will be ready in a couple weeks.
He grew spaghetti squash for the first time this year and there are 50 of them. Really, 50. Mom has only cooked 3 and she is sick of them.
I forgot to tell you that my mom was talking to a dead spider for a month before she realized it was dead. When she was helping Grammie empty her apartment (for water damage repairs) there was a spider she thought she saw move just a bit so she kept putting water out for it. It took a month for her to touch it with a pen and realize it was mummified. Sometimes she is a bit slow to figure things out. Grammie figured it was dead because it didn’t move, but she didn’t have the heart to tell her.
And Mom forgot that yesterday was Ginger Cat Appreciation Day.
As you know, we have 3 gingers-Rusty, Rudy and Tuffy.

And one ginger angel, Prancie.
Well, actually 2 angels because Sammy had a lot of ginger on him.

..Hmmm….maybe 3, Phoebe also had a lot of ginger furs.

I think Penny will be here next week unless she thinks of some other excuse to get out of working.
We are joining Comedy Plus’ Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Rosie, it’s good to see you! Glad that everyone’s meds and vet visits are on track. And wow, just look at that corn, it’s really really tall! Wow, that’s a lot of ginger cats! XO
Thank you. XO
I really don’t care too much for spaghetti squash either! I have a huge volunteer squash plant of some kind that seems to like where it got started, by birds or maybe a squirrel…there are all kinds of fruits on it now, one looks like a big bumpy gourd, not sure is those are edible or not.
If Penny could have today off, why didn’t I have it off, since I am the most senior aide where I work…Rosie, I hope you got ‘extra pay’ for working on the holiday.
That corn looks amazing! I foresee roasted corn on the cob in your future.
Is the fence to keep out deer, or rabbits?
Ghourds are usually not edible. We hope you got extra pay too. The fence is to keep out both. There is an electric wire at the top for the deer. XO
Oh, boy, is mama impressed by that corn and the guy next to it looks so nice, too, and thank you for giving us a ginger cat show that made us smile and happy for all that you do for kitties.
Thank you. XO
I hope the shots and pills will help Penny’s allergies. That corn is looking really good and so is the squash but I am not very keen on them either. That made me laugh about the spider. Of course ginger and white can be counted as ginger. I have had 6 that colour and 4 all ginger.
Thank you. Gingers are sweet. XO
Out in the midwest, once upon a time, we’d say “hope the corn’ll be as high as an elephant’s eye by the fourth of july” … and start picking it soon after! Must grow slower in New England? Happy GINGER to all your beautiful ones …
I never heard that. The farmstands usually have it for the 4th, but that is butter and sugar. The Silver Queen is a late corn. XO
Rosie this is a pawsome post today. All the news and information. I would eat one spaghetti squash but probably not 50. And of course Phoebe has ginger in her fur. You do too along with your black and white you know. We’ll have to keep a note on Brody’s doctor appointment. Precious has to go in October sometime for her usual checkup. Who knows it might be the same day.
Thank you. They are not mom’s favorite, but dad loves them. XO
Rosie, that’s a lot of good gossip, and I love the photos of the ginger kitties. That corn is very impressive, and I love spaghetti squash.
Thank you. xO
That’s a lot of squash! Your mom has a kind heart!
Thank you. 🙂
Rosie, your Dad is amazing. I didn’t just come up with that thought. I have thought so many times. He has an entire green HAND…not just thumb!
And you, sweet girl and looking smoochable!!
All the gingers and partial gingers in your house is really fun! My mm loves them too. They ARE naughty though.
Thank you. Yes, he is a great gardener. Gingers are very naughty. XO
I’m sorry Penny is still have skin issues. Hopefully the steroid will help.
Thank you. I hope so too. XO
WOW, the dad’s garden looks fantastic! I just bought a spaghetti squash at the store. I haven’t made one in many years and am excited to have it again. I wanted a butternut squash but they didn’t have any grown in the US, so that’s why we have the spaghetti variety. I’m sure it’ll be good even though we wanted the other.
I would’ve killed that spider dead or alive. I hate spiders!
Have a furtastic week, lil’ furriend!
Thank you. I like spiders aside from tarantulas. 🙂 XO
Rosie ~ sweet photo of you and great post ~ Dad is doing well with his gardening but 50 spaghetti squash is a bit much for anyone ~ hugs,
an artist reflects
Thank you. XO
What a garden you have. I hear you on being sick of stuff. It’s too much for just two people.
I laughed about the spider. You have such a good heart.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches to the kitties and a big hug to mom. ♥
Thank you. Yes, even freezing veggies is too much. XO
The corn will be ready for Chef Teddy’s fritters! I hope Penny’s skin issues get worked out. We like spagetti squash but 50 might be a bit too much.
Happy Ginger Day to the Meowing Crew’s Gingers!!!
Thank you. 🙂 Yes, a lot too ,much. XO
Yum, spaghetti squash!
If your neighbors have left their cars unlocked, you can load the extra squashes in!
Hahahaha…
Yes, they would. If you lived near me, I would give you a bunch.
My corn was a fail this year! Between the squirrels, bugs, too much rain and too much high temps, I only got a few dozen ears to eat fresh and none to freeze! Your ginger kitties are precious. And the spider……😳
Sorry about your corn. XO
That’s a lot of spaghetti squash! I think your dad will have to celebrate “Sneak Some Zucchini Onto Your Neighbor’s Porch Night” only with the squash instead.
The corn looks great, too, although I would imagine you a lot of it gets canned or frozen.
Your gingers are all so beautiful, I think gingers rule the world.
That is a great idea. 🙂 Yes, we freeze a lot. I agree about gingers. XO
Spiders dead or alive make me shiver all the way down to bones.
Once we grew zucchini………..there is only so much zucchini bread one can eat and share
Hugs cecilia
I like spiders except for really big ones. I have a lot of recipes for zucchini casseroles. 🙂 XO
rosie….sew…if ewe squizh de squazh, doez sghetti come outta it 😸‼️💙think how pawsum THAT wood be…rite ‼️😸💙🦋🐟
Yes, but you have to bake it first. 🙂 XO
Do you eat your spaghetti squash soft or crunchy? Mom likes it a lot better crunchy, but 50 is a lot
Never had it crunchy. How do you make it crunchy?
Penny rules the roost, doesn’t she? Too funny about the dead spider. And that’s a lotta spaghetti squash!
Yes, she does. 🙂 XO
Rosie! Good to see you today. I hope everything goes well for Penny and Brody’s medical issues. Happy Belated Ginger Cat Appreciation Day!
Thank you. 🙂
I’m glad you had some quiet times. That corn looks amazing, Silver Queen is the best!
Thank you. Yes, we think it is too. 🙂
Charlee: “We’re sorry to hear Penny’s allergy meds aren’t working. That’s no fun being allergic and itchy.”
Chaplin: “We hope the shots make her feel better and she doesn’t need any more of them for a long time.”
Charlee: “50 spaghetti squash, that’s a lot! Our Mama and Dada like spaghetti squash and have it a few times a year, but I don’t think they would want to eat it once a week …”
Oona: “Happy belated Ginger Cat Appreciation Day to your gingers and your ginger angels! Oona’s brother Odin is a ginger and he is about twice as big as Oona.”
Charlee: “And has almost as much attitude.”
Oona: “WHAT WAS THAT, CHARLEE?”
Charlee: “Nothing.”
Oona: “That is what Oona thought.”
Thank you. 🙂 Oona, do you get to see your brother? XO
Good to see you Rosie and a great update, The veggies look great. I hope the meds help Penny.Cute photos.
Thank you. 🙂
That corn is huge, it must be delicious! We don’t know spaghetti squash, we make spaghetti sometimes of zucchini, but we think that’s a different story…MOL…Rosie you look amazing and we love(d) all your ginger cats. Gingers are special, I’m a ginger too, the Peachy Pooh, and we had a Gismo, who was a ginger😸Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day to all of you🐾😽💞
Yes, those are zoodles. Spaghetti squash, once baked looks like spaghetti noodles. Corn isn’t ripe yet, but I know it will be tasty. Ginger cats are all sweet. XO
Lots of cute gingers. Sorry you’re still upset about the shots. They supposed to help so hopefully you’ll feel better and forget the vet visit.
Thank you. 🙂 XO
