Hi everyone. We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
I am thankful for fresh grown veggies. My hubby insisted that I get in a photo with this cabbage because I started the seeds back in February. Pardon my hair, I need a haircut.
Here is my poem for Angel Sammy’s Poetry Day to go with this fun prompt. I can picture any of my niece’s kids doing the same.
Grammie had to go to the store
and all Grandpa does is snore.
I bet he won’t fall asleep next time,
but this is more fun than slime.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. A word to describe my life right now would be _____________.
2. ___________________drives me batty
3. When it comes to _________, I’m most known for _________.
4. _________ is my idea of cozy.
I love that picture of you, Ellen! It’s all sunshine and fresh air and yummy garden garden veggies! XO
Thank you. 🙂 XO
òh my cod! `HOW MAGNIFICENT IS THAT! And you look so much as if you could be the sister of one of our bestest and oldest friends. `NOT old, just a long time friend. Mama could trim your hair, no fee, haha, but it’s pretty nice like that.
Thank you. 🙂 I wish you could trim it for me. XO
That is a lovely photo of you and the cabbage. It has grown so well. Mine would have slugs or caterpillars in them, and one year we came back from holiday and the leaves were like lace! That was when I gave up growing them. We get them from a local farm now.
That is a fun poem.
Thank you. 🙂 I usually buy one twice as big at the farmstand in the fall, but I started some for The Great One who had a contest as school, but she wasn’t that interested so we kept them. XO
It is lovely to see you and your giant cabbage this morning. Now on the poem and the photo I’m wondering if your nieces do that to their father, lol.
Thank you. 🙂 They haven’t, but they would if he was dumb enough to fall asleep like that. XO
OMC that cabbage is AMAZING. Great poem!
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Wow! That is a giant cabbage, you have great hair! Your poem is perfect for the picture.
Thank you. 🙂 And thanks for the compliment on my hair. XO
Nice cabbage but the picture makes you look like a teenager! Not a bad thing.
Thank you. 🙂 God Bless You! You are too kind. XO
That is one huge cabbage!
Thank you. 🙂
WOW, that is some big cabbage! Fun poem too. Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Thank you. 🙂
I LOVE cabbage and I love seeing that giant!! How delicious. Me, I know my mim just boils it with a seasoning meat…and at the end she sometimes puts in a few potato quarters, She does tend to salt it when it’s cooking as cabbage otherwise is a bit bland. But LOVE it. You two are fantastic gardeners. Big smile for your hair which I love in its abundance!
1. A word to describe my life right now is busy and filled with family too.
2. Postulating- to use a 50 cent word- without all the information has ALWAYS driven me batty.
3. When it comes to tests, I’m known for being the one the guys sit next to. (I don’t mind)
4. Getting into a freshly made, clean sheeted bed is my idea of cozy. I look forward to it.
Thank you. 🙂 I made lazy golompki and lazy pierogi. Thanks for the compliment on my hair. It has actually thinned a lot because of meds I take and my thyroid. Thanks for these great answers. I am glad your life is busy with family. I had to look up postulating. 🙂 XO
Ellen I love you poem and I bet TGO and TM have done similar things.
That is a huge cabbage is it tasty?
Hugs Cecilia
PS I’ll be doing fill ins tomorrow.
Thank you. 🙂 I don’t think they have, but if given the chance, they would. Yes, it was very mild. I look forward to your fill-in answers. XO

I made lazy golompki and lazy pierogi-both were tasty. ANd you are wonderful too. XO
I had to giggle out loud when I read your fun poem!
And that cabbage, OMC!!! Wonderful that your garden produces for you so well!
I have a pic of me when I was about 26, and had hair about as long as yours, and there was a bit of a perm in it, and I looked just like you, teehee!
(Now I have quite short hair, no perm, and wonder of wonders hardly any grey…yet! Even though I have already completed 7 decades and more…)
Thank you. 🙂 Glad you liked the poem. I have been coloring my hair for at least 10 years. I used to pluck, but then it got to the point that I would have a bald spot so now I color. XO
Oh my goodness that is such a large and wonderful cabbage! Love the photo! 🙂
Thank you. 🙂 XO
It’s good to see you! That cabbage is amazing. I am glad your hubby insisted you get in a photo. Can’t believe you started the seeds back in February. I think it would be more fun than slime but then I remember our nieces and how they loved to make slime!
Thank you. 🙂 Yes, my great nieces love making slime. XO
Mom laughed out loud at your poem! Ellen, that is the biggest cabbage our mom has ever seen. Way to go! What things will you make with it? XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta & Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer, Kizmet, Audrey & Raleigh
Thank you. 🙂 Our local farmstand sells some in the fall that are twice as big. I made lazy pierogi and lazy golompki. XO
So nice to see you, Ellen. That is one fine looking head of cabbage. Mom wishes she had a green thumb and could have a bountiful crop like yours.
Woos – Misty and Timber
Thank you. 🙂 It is more my Hubby’s green thumb as I started them in the house, but once outside, he dealt with them. 🙂
Wow! You did a great job with the cabbage and your hair would make a great braid down the back like mine, but with pretty bangs.
Your poem is funny and yes, he won’t sleep next time.
Thank you. 🙂 I should try to braid it. XO
That’s a very impressive cabbage!
Thank you. 🙂
You are beautiful, Ellen! That cabbage turned out nicely, too.
Thank you. 🙂 You are too kind. XO
Lulu: “That is quite possibly the biggest cabbage I have ever seen! And I love crunchy vegetables! Are you giving out samples?”
Charlee: “Grandpa sure is going to be impressing everyone with his tattoos the next time he goes out in public!”
Sorry, it is all gone.
Wow your fresh veggies are quite impressive! (p.s. I loved the hair!)
Terrific poem, too. I had to chuckle about that one.
Thank you. 🙂 XO
