Awwww….Monday

Hi everyone. We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays .

Dusty is posing with two really good books that I am currently reading.

Karen: A Brother Remembers by Kelsey Grammer is sad, but interesting. In 1975, when he was 20, his 18 yr old sister, Karen was brutally raped and murdered. Reading about what happened to her was awful, but the rest of the book about her love he has carried into every part of his life is beautiful.

I am also reading Jeremy Renner’s, My Next Breath: A Memoir in which he recounts his awful accident of being run over by a 14,000 ( not a typo) pound snowplow. He ended up with 30 broken bones and one eye hanging out, but miraculously survived, can see with both eyes and did not end up paralyzed. He credits the love of his family, especially his 10 yr old daughter for his remarkable recovery. I don’t ever listen to audio books, but I am tempted with this one as it even includes the 911 call his nephew made.

Rosie will be here tomorrow with all the latest from our house.

  1. It looks like Dusty is reading the book titles. You may have to read these to her. 🙂 I remember Jeremy Renner’s accident. That was truly amazing that he survived it. I guess God wasn’t ready for him yet. The first story sounds terribly sad. I sure hope they found the attacker of this woman and was sentenced with the harshest penalty possible. Thanks for the review. Have an awwwesome week, Ellen! xo

    1. Yes, they caught them. All died in prison except for one who keeps trying to get out, but keeps getting denied thankfully. XO

  2. Aww, sweet picture of Dusty, and he looks very intent. Both books sound interesting, especially Jeremy Renner’s, My Next Breath. Happy Monday!

  3. Chaplin: “We didn’t know that story about Frasier’s sister, that is really sad.”
Charlee: “We do remember when Hawkeye got run over by the plow though. It’s amazing that he made it through that. We think either Loki or Thanos was behind it.”
Lulu: “You cats watch too much television.”

  4. Sounds like two sad reads, but the takeaway is wonderful. It’s perspective that counts.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to all the precious kitties and a big hug to mom. ♥

  7. I watched an exposé about Jeremy Renner’s horrific accident and his road to recovery. It was jaw dropping! Thank you for sharing both books. I will have to check them out at the library.

  8. I have kept up as much as possible with Jeremy Renner’s recovery. Truly a whole lot of hard work and lots of love and a miracle he survived.
Did not know about Kelsey Grammer’s sister. So much sadness and heart break for all involved.
    Dusty is an excellent assistant.

    1. I am amazed he got back to work so soon after his accident. Dusty thanks you. XO

  11. Cute photo! I had no idea about Kelsey Grammer’s sister. So tragic. Both books sound interesting.

  12. Karen’s story sounds heartbreaking but her legacy is beautiful, indeed. And I’ve adored Jeremy Renner since first seeing him act, then more so hearing him in interviews. He, Gary Sinise, Keanu Reeves, Denzel Washington, and Steve Buschemi are among the most down to earth human celebrities, it seems, which I appreciate. And, of course, I adore Nicolas Cage. ;D Dusty’s image made me smile and I look forward to gossip. lol Be well, my dear.
