Awwww…..Monday

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays .

Dusty is posing with a good book that I am reading. Although, judging by her tongue sticking out, I don’t think she likes it.

The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins is a self-help book that recently came out.  The idea is simple, but life changing. The idea is to stop trying to get others to do things ( like me with my hubby and decluttering).  I am only a couple chapters in,but already found some helpful advice.

And today is F day for The A-Z Blogging Challenge. As you know, my theme is Halloween.

F is for Frankenstein. Here is a photo of Angel Stinky with Frankenstein.

Rosie will be here tomorrow with 2 weeks’ worth of gossip for you.

  1. Ahahaha, Angel Stinky looks a little like she’s saying, “Just who is this guy …” about Frankenstein! XO

  2. I learned long ago, that there is a certain way to get hubby to volunteer to do something, ha ha. Otherwise he thinks it’s work or not necessary. Looking forward to tomorrows news cast. Better than TV news I know.

  3. Am not familiar with the book you mention, but basically understand the concept … change comes first from within ourselves … and it may, but not always, follow by an example we set.

  4. Sounds like a good read for you. I know you’re trying to get your husband to help you with decluttering. You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink. I learned that a long time ago.

    Dusty is a cutie pie.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties and a big hug to you. ♥

  5. That is a cute picture of Angel Stinky. The book sounds interesting even if it doesn’t meet with Dusty’s approval.

  6. I learned a long time ago that if you want something done, you have to do it yourself or hire someone. My husband does a lot but if there is something I want done, I ask if he wants to do it or should I hire someone. That way we don’t get hung up with a list of chores he hates to do. Downsizing is the only thing that he HAS to do. I tell him if he doesn’t do some, I’ll get a dumpster for all his guitars and tools after he’s gone.

    1. Very true. I would like to hire someone for some things, but he won’t let me. I guess he needs to read this book too. 🙂

  7. Not sure your kitty was all that impressed with your Frankenstein although I sure am! Very cool. And bravo on doing a great job with the A to Z challenge. Happy Monday.

  8. It’s human nature to try to get others to do or not to do things but as a wife, you know when to give up. 🙂 Oh what a fright! Cool Frankenstein!!

  9. Just added “Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus” to my TBR list, as I’d read “Dracula” a few years ago, and figure I should know the ‘original’ books, rather than the Hollywood movies.

  11. Nobody can make anyone do something, at least not without much strife and bitterness on both sides. After all, do any of us want to be forced into an action we do not wish to take? I’ll have to look for this book.

Angel Stinky was very brave to go so close to The Monster.

  12. Charlee: “Stop trying to get people to do things? But I’m so good at it. Here, watch, I will get Dada to pick me up and give me cuddles and smooches just by meowing at him …”

  13. Beautiful Dusty – she would do anything if it makes her Mom happy. That sounds like an interesting read. We will have Mom add it to her list.

  14. I saw a therapist decades ago, once a week for a couple of months. I couldn’t afford more but my big takeaway was a tremendous breakthrough. 😀 I accepted the fact I couldn’t improve my parents’ toxic relationship. And I’ve learned about my spouse that the only decluttering I can do is throw out the trash he leaves everywhere. ~sigh~ What can you do?

Your angels are always so beautiful to see. Hugs, my dear.

    1. Sounds like you got more out of your 2 months of therapy than I did in 14 yrs of weekly appointments. XO
