Awww….Monday

We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays .

My perfect little model, Dusty is posing with the book I just finished reading.

To Anyone Who Ever Asks: The Life, Music and Mystery of Connie Converse by Howard Fishman is fantastic. Connie Converse, was a folk singer, sometimes described as a female Bob Dylan. Sadly, she never achieved the fame he did after trying her luck in NYC so she left the city and eventually disappeared forever. Even her brothers do not know what happened to her.

She used to play for small groups of people in NYC and sometimes it was recorded. In 2009, someone released a song by her and the author heard it and became enchanted. He spent the next several years trying to contact her family and friends to find out what happened to her. The book is well written, a combination real life mystery and a biography.

I am not really into her kind of music, but she did have a nice voice. Here is a YouTube video if you are interested.

  1. Oh, Ellen, mama is in love with this voice and oh, the lyrics of this song. Brilliant song writer. Mama had never heard of her, thank you so, so much.

    1. Thank you. 🙂 I find it odd she would never have gotten in touch with her family so I assume she committed suicide. XO

  2. Dusty! YOU are the one..well, the famous-to-be- model one of the family! XX
Mom isn’t into folk songs either. I loved Joan Biaz’s music though.

  3. Dusty, you are adorable and a perfect model. The book sounds interesting and a mystery where we may never know what happened to her. I read a little about her on Wikipedia; her story is fascinating.
