Hi everyone!
As you can see, I am not happy. I thought there was nothing worse than Typhoid Mary and The Great One coming over, but turns out, there is. My Daddy betrayed me. He brought this into our home.
There is quite the story to this. A few days before Joanie left us at the end of March, there was a cat that looked like this hanging out under the bird feeders every morning. Dad started putting food out by the barn for it and it moved into the barn. It would not come anywhere near him, but it always ate the food. My folks were planning to trap it, but it got run over or they thought it did. Dad buried a kitty, but he couldn’t really tell for sure what kind it was. There is only one cat from quite a few houses down and he thought the one he buried was smaller. Then Sunday morning he steps outside, and this cat starts meowing at him for food. He went out with some canned food and tried to get the cat away from the street and closer to the house. He was afraid this one would get hit so he took a chance and picked it up and brough it inside to the enclosed porch. It is definitely she so my folks named her Dusty. Mom liked the name Bluey for the blue eyes, but she does look a bit dusty. I think they should call her mouthy. I haven’t actually met her yet, but I can smell the betrayal on my folks. She is going to the shelter Wednesday to get fixed and FELV/FIV tested then I guess she is coming back here so we will be at an even dozen again.
Mom thinks Dusty is Siamese- does she look it to you?
In better news– I have a bit of a crush. My mom won a calendar from Adventures in Cheeseland, their cat, Sergeant Stripes was chosen to be the October model. I must say, he is a handsome hunk of mancat. To check him out, click here.
I think Penny has a crush on Teddy. She has assisted in his kitchen two weeks in a row. He is pretty cute too. Click here.

OMC!!!! Another kitty!! Dusty seems right for a kitty that had to come in tfrom outside. She does look like there could well be oriental in her somehow. Esp as she has those pretty blue eyes! She doesn’t seem too feral being as how close she was to one of your nieces…and she let your hubby pick her up.
So sad about the other kitty that got hit…sigh…
Sorry you feel betrayed, Rosie, but maybe she’ll become a good friend for you and the others in time.
Penny does visit the chef Teddy now and then…and your pin up dude seems good, too, Rosie!
My nieces haven’t met her yet, but she is nice to my hubby and I mostly- although we both have gotten a little nip and scratch. XO
Oh, wow, that IS one hunky kitty on the calendar. No wonder you have a crush….I got those all the time with Teddy and your cute guys and Brian and more, even tbose wild abyssinians…handsome, fun kitties are just too hard to resist and with TIME, you will probably have a sweet friend in Dusty…strength in numbers when the little girls visit, haha.
I hope we can be friends. XO
Another kitty, marvelous! Dusty does look like she could be part Siamese, not only her pattern and blue eyes, but her muzzle, too. I’m so sorry about the other kitty. You look so pretty in your pictures, Rosie! Sgt. Stripes and Teddy are both 😎 cool cats. XO
Dearest Ellen,
What a story… sorry for the kitty that didn’t make it.
Rosie no doubt will get used to her new sisfur Dusty!
Hugs,
Mariette + Kitties
Thank you. XO
Dusty does look pretty. I hope her vet tests go well and her spay too.
Thank you. I hope so too. XO
Oh what a sweetie. We hope all is fine with her🙏She must have been send by an Angel, Rosie, and of course you’ll get used to her. Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day to all of you, and one Extra for Dusty, so she can get use to it, because there’s many more to come🐾😽💞
Thank you. Mom thinks she was sent too. XO
Congratulations on an even dozen! Dusty is pretty and looks to be part “many things” maybe Siamese included – hard to say but I know she’s happy to have a home. Can’t be fun hunting for food and never having the safety and security a home gives. Bless you for helping her and so sad about the little kitty who was hit by a car….. Teddy enjoys having the ladies help him out in the kitchen on Saturdays and Penny is a “frequent flyer” with him which he QUITE enjoys! He’s a big (and I do mean big) flirt.
Hugs, Pam
Thank you. We will let Penny think she is the only one. 🙂 XO
Rosie, I’d say for you the calendar was the best part of the story today. However we’re very glad to meet Dusty. Just think another kitty saved from an awful death outside. I bet eventually she becomes your best buddy.
I sure hope she is nicer to me than Friday. XO
Surely, you knew this was a very real pawsibility that your mom or dad might add a new kitty to the bunch, right? What do you mean, no? Oh well, you have a new sister. I hope everything works out for effuryone at your house. 🙂
I hope she is sweet. XO
OMC! Dusty is beautiful and she does have markings like a Siamese. Rosie, Dusty needs a safe home so please be understanding and kind. Hooray for an even dozen! Sgt. Stripes and Teddy are both handsome cats. 😻
Thank you. XO
Dusty is beautiful!
Thank you. 🙂
OH my…I have a crush on Teddy too. He will be puffed up big with you and me both looking for his attention. XX
I bet there are others too. 🙂 XO
She’s beautiful! Her blue eyes! I am happy she has a home now. No more street life for her.
No surprise that Penny may have a crush on Teddy. It’s fun to see Penny on Saturdays with her recipes and helping the Baking King! It’s always fun when Teddy has a guest chef!
Thank you. I love those blue eyes. XO
Awww, a new kitty! If you could pick her up, she’s not feral. Let’s hope all goes well and everyone accepts her.
I know, but the soonest appt at the other shelter for non ferals is Sept. and I am not spending a grand at the vet to get her fixed so she is feral. 🙂
Dusty is gorgeous! We’re sad the other kitty was run over. It’s a rough life outside.
Very sad. My hubby didn’t want that to happen to this one. XO
Dusty Blue Mouth …. it can be a complete name!
I enjoy watching Penny and Teddy in the kitchen!
Penny and Teddy sitting in the … kitchen … k-i-s-s-i-n-g LOL ….
Good idea, I like that. MOL on Penny and Teddy. XO
We have the sads for the dead kitty.
Dusty does look like there is some Siamese there.
Paws crossed that she’s good to go, and can begin to work her way into the household.
That was sad, I didn’t even write about it when it happened because I was so upset. XO

Thank you. XO
Awww Dusty is a great name for this little cutie! She does look Siamese, or at least partly. I’m sure Joanie will get used to her. 🙂
Thank you. XO
OMCs…what a sweet looking Dusty/Bluey kitty. She is quite lucky to have been brave enough to let Dad near her. Sending purrs for her to have a healthy Vet visit
Hugs cecilia
Thank you. XO
We are just sorry to hear that any kitty got hit in the road. We think everything else will work out ok.
That was sad.
And here we always thought your Mom was the kitty lover, not Dad. Dusty is very pretty, but we don’t know cats well enough to know what she might be. We hope she fits in nicely and makes you The Kitty Dozen.
Woos – Misty and Timber
Actually mom never had a cat until she met dad. 🙂 XO
Squeals…a new kitty?! Wow, that’s very exciting news, Rosie. Bless your Dad for being there and rescuing Dusty. Hopefully with some time you and the new kiddo will become BFF’s. Sure like your calendar pin up boy. Hubba, bubba.
I hope she is nicer than Friday is to me. XO
Nothing wrong with an innocent crush! Dusty is beautiful. You guys are definitely cat magnets! I would say she’s a Siamese mix.
Thank you. It is the barn, people drop off near barns. XO
Dusty is pretty and does look part Siamese. I’m glad your Dad got her away from the road. It’s sad about the other kitty.
Thank you. Yes, it is sad about the other cat. XO
I’m sure you will all be good friends with Dusty, once you get to know her. She might have some colorpoint cat in her background, you never really know unless you do the DNA test, and with cats even that’s not always precise.
PS your dad is a softie, although he doesn’t want to admit it!
Very true about dad. 🙂 XO
I went out on an errand yesterday, sadly saw a kitty who’d been hit by an oncoming car, and took a different route home. Don’t you know, a dog walked right into the path of my vehicle. I’m thankful the brakes on my sedan are good. Take care of your mom and dad! They are priceless.
Glad you didn’t hit the dog. Very sad about the kitty. Thank you for your kind words, you are priceless too. XO
Dusty is a real cutie!
I agree. 🙂
Charlee: “I feel your pain, Rosie! I still remember when Mama and Dada went to Dada’s aunt’s house for Easter last year and came back with more than just leftovers!”
Oona: “Oh? What did they come back with, Charlee? Explain it to Oona in smol words so that she can understand.”
Oona, they came back with a ninja. 🙂
We’re sorry you’re not happy, Rosie, but welcome to a wonderful family, beautiful Dusty! Sending purrs and prayers for her vet visit and introduction into the clowder!
Thank you. 🙂 XO

Dusty is beautiful! If you ask me, it looks like she has some blue lynx-point Siamese in her. Please keep us posted!
Hugs to Rosie. In time, I’m sure you’ll love your new sisfur <3
Thank you. 🙂 I hope they get along. XO
Sgt Stripes here. I am very flattered Rosie. I think you are beautiful. And I don’t blame you one bit for not being thrilled about the new kitty. Things were definitely quieter here when it was only me and the two lady cats. Good luck with Dusty.
Thank you. So nice of you to comment. Dusty already chased Brody. XO
