Friendly Fill-Ins Week 414

Hi everyone! Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. I ____________ but not ________________.
2. Just because I __________ doesn’t mean ___________________.
3. Am I the only one who _________?
4. I used to _________, but then I learned _________.
My answers:
1. I love to read but not fiction.
2. Just because I have a lot of cats doesn’t mean one should ask me to take in another. I must explain- there are some local people that contact me on FB whenever they hear of a cat needing a home. I guess it makes them feel like they are making an effort. These are people with only a cat or two that are in a better position to add more than I am.
3. Am I the only one who thinks reality shows are stupid? They are cheap to make because they don’t have to pay actors and there are so many of them that they are basically taking away a lot of jobs from people who studied their craft for years. Sorry to go on a rant- that is a big pet peeve of mine and I refuse to watch any reality tv.
4. I used to purchase more cat toys, but then I learned how to crochet and started making my own.
We are joining Feline Friday now hosted by Messymimi.
My flashback is from May 2021, Angel Joanie was dressed in her sombrero for Cinco de Mayo.

  1. I feel the same way about reality shows as you do
Good flashback of Joanie in her sombrero, would make a great puzzle

  2. Angel Joanie looks adorable. Great fill ins. I’m the opposite of you when it comes to reading. I only read fiction 🙂 Hope you have a great weekend!

  3. I did watch some reality TV shows, but now I hardly watch any TV! (I watch more at my work in resident rooms than anywhere else, sports, news, and other junk I have no interest in, LOL!!) I am sorry people think they can ‘make use’ of you as a cat rescue which of course you aren’t…
I think Pipo & Minko loved the toys they get from you. I still have their faves, in my ‘kitty corner’.

    1. I used to play violin but not anymore due to no time to do it justice when our boys were small, and then I got arthritis in my neck and fingers. I Love to hear it still on the radio…or computer.
    2. Just because I sed to be an RN doesn’t mean I know all the newer things about that profession…the basics are what is mostly common sense…but nursing now is VERY different than back in the late 70’s and early 80’s.
    3. Am I the only one who loves mostly and only classical music? (Exclusively other than church music…LOL!)
    4. I used to not want to do social media, but then I learned about Catster/Dogster in 2009 and I was hooked, but I never had a blog until 2014 when those places closed down.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I knew you liked classical music, but didn’t know you could play the violin- that is impressive. I was the same with social media until I learned about cat blogs. XO

  4. That is a sweet flashback. I agree with you about reality shows and won’t watch them either. I prefer fiction to non fiction but read both.

  5. Reality shows are as “fake” as non-reality shows – I have never been a fan. Love Joanie’s sombrero and agree with everyone about your wonderful crocheted toys……they are adorable! I think people know you have a soft heart for cats and perhaps “assume” you’ll take on more but it’s good that you know your limits dear girl……….

    Hugs, Pam

  6. Angel Joanie could certainly pull of wearing such a festive hat. Me, I am the opposite of you, I read mostly fiction. It’s nice people are showing concern about cats needing homes, but they should put their best foot forward and help themselves.

  7. I enjoyed your answers as well as Ellen’s, Ingrid. Rosie DID rock that sombrero I will say right along with you. Bless her always. Loved her. I’m not able to think of anything much to fill-in this time. Except #3. Am I the only one who never watched any network TV? To me, It’s all slanted toward on two things. I’d rather watch oldies or read.

  8. I don’t like reality shows either and that is a cute pic of Angel Joanie in the sombrero. Callie loves your crocheted toys that you sent her.

  9. I agree about the folks who think you can take in more.
The only reality show I have ever watched is Amazing Race. truly love seeing where they travel and the challenges they are given. I’ve watched ever season.
    Hugs Cecilia

  10. Charlee: “Our Mama and Dada would like you to know you aren’t the only one who thinks reality shows are stupid! The only ones they ever watched were the first season of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ (because they do ballroom dancing) and something called ‘Joe Millionaire’ (because Dada thought the premise sounded hilarious and subversive).”
Java Bean: “Ayyy, Angel Joanie, te ves muy bonita in your sombrero!”

  11. 1. I love boating, but not when there is a small craft warning.
    2. Just because I don’t say it doesn’t mean I don’t love all my blogging buddies.
    3. Am I the only one who thinks our government is corrupt?
    4. I used to drink diet Pepsi, but then I learned that water was far better for me.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-Ins.

Have a fabulous day and weekend, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

    1. Thank you for these great answers. Yes, boating would be scary with a warning. I am with you on #3. And I love you too. XO

  12. Cute Joanie in the sombrero! I like some fiction, but mostly I read non fiction. I agree with you on the cats. It’s hard to turn any away, but you still need to keep it managable. Reality shows were fun for awhile, but now I don’t watch any. Cool you make cat toys, too. Mostly ours would ignore store bought toys, and liked ordinary things around here. 🙂

  13. Oh, darling Joanie, and we LOVED YOUR FILL-INS! Mama reads so much but mostly fiction and of course, newspapers galore although she’s pretty fed up with news, especially if that dude T is in it….
hugs from us and hope you are feeling better😻

  14. Great answers. People do need to understand we each have a limit.

Joanie was always so good at posing and I’ll bet she loved Cinco de Meow. Thanks for linking up with Feline Friday!

  15. Those are really good answers and we never watch reality shows either!

  16. Completely agree on reality TV! There’s just way too much of it. I used to watch Dancing with the Stars periodically, but only if there was someone on I knew and could root for. And I’m currently keeping up with American Idol to follow Loretta Lynn’s granddaughter.

  17. Mee-yow Aunty Ellen you did guud Fill-Innss!! BellaSita wantss to due them two.
    Heer shee iss:
    1. I used to love doing hard physical work but not anymore.
    2. Just because I have had many cats doesn’t mean I know ‘everything’ about Cats!!
    3. Am I the only one who dislikes Reality TV too? (We are Twins Ellen!)
    4. I used to do alot of stupid stuff, but then I learned to Live Life without Alcohol & Drugs.
(((hugs))) BellaSita Mum & ***purrss*** BellaDharma

    1. Thank you for these great answers. Yes, we are twins and I could have had the same for#2 too. And I am very glad you gave up drugs and alcohol. XO

  18. I am totally with you on reality shows. The people and situations are fake. (Regarding your toys – I discovered that Sgt Stripes has adopted the fish you made for Snoops and Kommando)

  19. Purrfect answers, Ellen. Granny has never watched reality shows either, and we wonder how it comes that some people like it😸We like your self-made toys more than others. Angel Binky was a big fan of your toasts and still plays with one in heaven💗Angel Joanie looks just awwdorable with her sombrero. We’re very late and don’t have time to catch up, but will be back later…whenever that is🙈Double Pawkisses for a Happy Sunday to all of you🐾😽💞

  20. Hee, hee…we have that same sombrero! Joanie looks too cute.
I’m with you-reality shows are stupid and annoying. And the truth of the matter is there’s nothing ‘real’ about them.
