Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone. Before we get started, we want give condolences to Lightning’s family. To visit, click here.

We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.  And we are keeping Terry in our prayers.

I am thankful that I have access to toys. The kids haven’t been here in a couple of weeks, but I wanted to play so I used the Lego’s we found in the barn to build a garage for Lola’s car. The car is taller than the door so not sure how to get the car out. I am hoping Typhoid Mary can solve that engineering problem when she visits next week.

I am also thankful for bargains. Walmart had a lot of toys and games marked down so I bought Yeti in My Spaghetti for $8. I can’t wait to play with the girls next week. You take turns pulling a piece of spaghetti out, but have to make sure the Yei doesn’t fall in. Have any of you ever played?

Today is J day on The A-Z Blogging Challenge. J is for Jesus- the reason for the season as it is his birthday. In addition to the outdoor nativity, I also have this baby Jesus for the dining room table.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. The last thing I cooked was _____________________.
2. When I go out to eat, my usual order is __________________.
3. I feel most comfortable when _________.

4. I purchase _________ on a very regular basis.

  1. I haven’t seen that Yeti/Spaghetti thing, how funny! We had a kitty named Yeti and I named the feral dad of some of our Kittens, Sasquatch. We’ll purr for Lightning’s family and we’ll continue purring for Terry. XO

  2. OMC we are amazed daily by your creativity and that Lego garage is a miracle! Those little girls are SO LUCKY to have you as their GURU! I think you house must vibrate all the time with your energy, Ellen! Let us know if the “engineer” comes up with a solution. Maybe lower the tire pressure haha.

  3. Good thing you have all those toys around – we all need a little “playtime” – since we don’t have kids or nieces/nephews I channel that energy to housecleaning which is NOT as much fun as toys for sure!!! That’s a mighty sturdy looking garage……I’m thinking when the girls visit you they will have a solution.

    Hugs, Pam

  4. The yeti game looks like that’ll be a fun project for the girls. And for you. Love the Lego barn and I’m sure they’ll be a way to have a barn raising, lol.

  5. That’s a nice looking Lego’s garage. If the girls can’t fix the problem, I guess you’ll have to tear it apart and try again. : ) I haven’t heard of the game There’s a Yeti in my spaghetti but it sounds fun. I borrowed your fill-ins to put up tomorrow. Have a terrific Thursday, Ellen!

    1. Thank you. I am sure they will tear it apart. 🙂 I look forward to your fill-ins. XO

  6. My condolences to Lightning’s family and I am keeping Terry in my prayers. I’ve never played the Yeti/Spaghetti game but it sounds like fun and I am sure Typhoid Mary will figure out the engineering problem with the car in the Lego barn.

  7. We were heartbroken to learn that Lightning earned his wings. Such a sweet boy. Ongoing prayers for Terry while we send positive, healing energy. Looks like an interesting game-I’m sure you and the girls will have a super time. What a good auntie you are. Good luck solving the design issue with the garage.

  8. Yeti in My Spaghetti for $8…omcs that is hilarious. I too hope the garage engineering can be solved…
    Hugs Cecilia

    1. I am sure she will get the car out of the garage even if she tears apart my building. 🙂 XO

  9. We are all struggling with our unexpected sudden loss, but we so appreciate your kind tribute to our Angel Lightning. Hugs.

  10. It’s a great time to by toys, we’ve been buying up toy deals for needy kids at Christmas. Thanks for the kind words and support during my health challenges and thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

    1. You’re welcome. I am glad you are home. That is a good idea to get toys now to donate. XO

  11. I’ve never played that, seems similar to Jenga? I bet Typhoid Mary will have a plan!

  12. The game reminds me of barrel of monkeys played in my childhood, though I think the concept was reversed. lol Mary is sure to engineer a solution, by the way. ~nods~ Perhaps putting the garage on “concrete” blocks would also allow stray kitties in through the gap. 🙂 Thanks for the sad update on Lightning. I am glad Terry is home and getting good care.

Excellent post for the letter J, too. Hugs, my dear.

  13. I worked at Walmart for several years and stocked Yeti in My Spaghetti, but never knew how it worked. Sounds like fun.
