Nosey Rosie’s Gabfest

Hi everyone! Check this out.  Grammie let me have my Gotcha Day present early even though it isn’t until Friday. This is my new soft blankie.

I have had a pretty good week, but my folks, not so much. Remember when Typhoid Mary was here a couple weeks ago and she was sick. Well, that was a Tuesday and she ended up with Hand, Mouth and Foot Disease* that Friday. Mom thought she had escaped, but last Thursday she woke up with a rash all over her hands and feet. Dad ended up with a couple spots, but he wasn’t covered like mom. Fortunately, it goes away within a few days. Yup, Typhoid Mary struck again. Mom is going to visit the kids in Wednesday so I hope she doesn’t catch anything.

Our turkey (sorry, Trout Towne Tabbies) is defrosting in the fridge. Mom is going to make a lot of veggies to go with it. And she makes rolls out of pizza dough. Do any of you do that? She is lazy so she buys pizza dough at the store then you roll it out and break it into rolls. Put it on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and let them sit for a few hours. The brush with egg white and sea salt and bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. I haven’t tried them, but dad sure likes them.

Brody is still taking his heart medicine like a champ. Joanie gets a squeezie every day when she wakes mom up during the night at around 2 or 3 AM.  I wish I could get even a lick of squeezie, but they upset my tummy.

Well, that is all I have for today. I hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving.

We are joining Comedy Plus’ Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

*Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease sounds worse than it is. It is basically a cold with a rash added in. Funny thing is it is most common in ages 5 and under so not sure how we got it too.

  1. Rosie that was quite a week! You do look sweet on your new blankie, and it’s great that Brody’s med is going well! XO

  2. Oh, lordy, lordy, that is AWFUL. Poor little T-Mary…did you test her for Covid? Just askin’…
but so glad nothing rash happened! Have a wonderful Turkey Day and know that we are thinking of you all there as we celebrate here.

    1. Thank you. Yes, she was tested and mom tested too. We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving too. XO

  3. That is a lovely new blankie, Rosie. I hope everyone has recovered from the lurgies now!

  4. and what a fest it is! My goodness, sounds like lots going on up there. We’re glad the rash doesn’t last that long, though I’m sure it still sucks. Mom and dad have a burd in the fridge here, too. The local grocery chain gives free ones with certain amounts of spending, which we do anyway, so we got one for free. Oh, before I forget- Rosie’s new soft blankie is wonderful! Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

  5. Well we’re happy about Brody’s meds working well, and that you have a new blankie Rosie but the spotted cold sickness sounds like it isn’t fun AT ALL. Hopefully your Mom and Dad will recover in time to enjoy that turkey and those pizza rolls and everything else your Mom makes for “turkey day” !!

    Hugs, Teddy

  6. Dear Rosie, let’s hope all this silly hand foot and mouth disease and anything else Typhoid Mary brings in the house goes away before Thanksgiving day. Not a lot of time left. Glad to hear Brody’s taking his medicine. And don’t eat anything that will upset your tummy.

  7. Rosie, I am so glad you got your blankie and I am also glad Brody is taking his medicine. Wow, I’ve never heard of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease and hope mom, dad, and Typhoid Mary feel better soon. Thanks for the gabfest, Rosie.

  11. Charlee: “We’re sorry to hear that you caught Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease from Typhoid Mary! When our Mama was still teaching elementary school, she used to get sick all the time, but I don’t think she ever had that one.”
Chaplin: “Good thing we cats don’t have hands and feet.”
Oona: “Oona loves a soft blankie! She makes muffins on them and purrs like a pro!”

  12. HFM disease is contagious OH Boy. I had a friend who caught it from her nephew…
it was a mess. Kept her out of work because her hands were worse and she touches lots of paperwork that goes to co workers.

  16. I’m so glad you got your blanket, it looks cozy.

Kids are little bundles of infections. It’s okay, everyone gets over it all at the same time and then you don’t catch it again.

Pizza dough rolls sound delightful, I’ll have to try that someday.

  17. Love your blankie! Mudpie is getting ideas about 2am squeezies…and I always say, kids are germ transmitters!!!
