Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Book Date’s It’s Monday What are YOU Reading?
I am reading What’s So Funny? A Cartoonists Memoir by David Sipress. This i9s a humorous memoir about how David Sipress finally got to live his dream of being a cartoonist for The New Yorker. I don’t read The New Yorker, but I love memoir and learning how people achieve their dreams.
I also recently read What’s So Funny? My Hilarious Life by Tim Conway. When I typed in What’s So Funny on Goodreads that came up instead of the one I was looking for so I figured I would get that one from the library too. I had never seen The Carol Burnett Show, but I had heard of him His book was worth reading too, but I preferred David Sipress’ book.
Looks like Rosie is on duty for tomorrow. She has more gossip.
Those books sound great! I always enjoyed Carol Burnett and Tim Conway. I’m sure it’s much more work and not as much fun as it appears to be, but I always thought having a career as a comedian would be marvelous. Cute picture! XO
I like to make people laugh, but wouldn’t want to be on the road. 🙂 XO
You never watched The Carol Burnett Show? ~faints~ I bought a collection of her shows and we should sit down together with them. lol Hugs to you and yours, my dear.
That sounds like fun. 🙂 XO
Carol Burnett was a total hoot!!
Those sound like good reads…and we are always up for the latest gossip…I think Rosie could write her own book…something like ‘Secrets From The Pilch Den’
Yes, she could, but a lot of kitties would be mad. 🙂 XO
Oh boy – Rosie is going to spill the beans huh? YAY!
Hugs, Teddy
Yes, she is. XO
Awww on the kitty and I loved the Carol Burnett show. So funny.
I’m reading Dream Town by David Baldacci.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. xoxo ♥
Sandee I am reading Dream Town also! Serendipity!
Thank you. XO
Whenever I recall the “Gone With The Wind” skit from The Carol Burnett Show, I bust a gut laughing…too darn funny.
Am working my way through the Simon Serailler series by Susan Hill; a Brit DCI.
The series started in 2009, so it’s interesting to see how police technology has changed in just a short time.
I will look that skit up on youtube. 🙂 XO
I loved the Carol Burnett show! She’s such a hoot and Tim Conway cracked me up!
I think you’d like his memoir.
Yesterday I finished a wonderful book, “Venice Sketchbook’. Taken in Venice during WWII
there was a cat in it too.
Hugs Cecilia
Must be good with a cat in it. 🙂 XO
I also enjoy memoirs, but just finished a Christmas novel that I need to review. I only watched the Carol Burnett show sporadically, but Tim Conway was always funny. Can’t wait to hear the gossip. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, angel Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer, Kizmet, Audrey & Raleigh
I look forward to your review. XO
I’m reading a book for the #ReadPawty on October 11th! Its about kitties!
Must be good if there are kitties in it. XO
I used to love the Carol Burnett show, and Tim Conway was the funniest. Though I don’t read memoirs, his might be the exception. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
I think you’d enjoy it. 🙂
Sweet kitty who reads ~ love your photo ~ I am reading A Dark and Snowy Night by Sally Goldenbaum ~ a knitting mystery ~ great series! Xo

A knitting mystery sounds good. 🙂
My most fave skit of hers. Makes me laugh just thinking about the line: “I just saw it hanging in the window…” hahahahaha!!!!!
Bet those books were good reads!
Purrs, Julie
I will have to look that one up. 🙂 XO
I loved the Carol Burnett Show. Tim Conway was very funny.
I will have to check it out sometime. 🙂
What’s So Funny sounds great, yes finding out what and how people achieve their dreams is inspiring.
They are both good reads. 🙂
I used to be a bookworm for most of my life until I hit 60 and beyond. Now I think I must have ADD because I can’t seem to concentrate. The most I can do is a cartoon here or there — or a blog, of course. Strangely enough, I have entered The New Yorker cartoon caption contest several times, but I do it just for fun, not fame.
Looking forward to seeing Rosie with more dish.
I bet you came up with some great captions- you are great at coming up with ones on Dani’s blog. 🙂
