Monday

Happy Monday everyone! Today is fun and games day- and ocassionally treat day. I decided the cats have had lots of fun and games with their new toys lately so I would try a treat.

Stunning Keisha posted a recipe for salmon loaf, here is the link to her recipe:Β  http://www.stunningkeisha.com/2014/12/wednesday-wordsalmon.html#more

I decided to give it a try for the kitties so I made some changes. I used a small can of salmon that was already skinned and deboned ( have I mentioned that I am lazy?) and I substituted catnip for parsley.I was kicking myself for that though because it looked darn good and I wanted to try it.

001I used a mini disposable meatloaf pan.

As usual, I had some cats Β that couldn’t get enough of it and others, that walked awayΒ  from it. Joanie, who eats everything, walked away- I can’t figure cats out. I would say it was about 50/50 on like vs. not interested. Next time, I will make it the correct way for the hubby and I to have.

Don’t forget to comment for a chance to win catnip teabags from Phoebe. Have a nice day everyone!

    1. Poor Nissy! Actually, you should consider yourself lucky. I have never made anything they prefer over their own food and treats.

  1. I’ve made salmon loaf using the recipe on the canned salmon and it was really delicious! Sam shows NO interest in it which is find with my husband and me!

    Hugs, Pam

  2. Mom says that looks darn good. You will need to make one without catnip for yourself. But I don’t enjoy any form of salmon for some reason.

    1. Some of the kitties really liked it straight from the can, we( humans and cats) all have different tastes.

  3. I have almost a cat restaurant, each cat eats something different and from different cans, lol ! If I would cook for them it would be a full time job !

    1. I will see what I can do–Jan, lease try the recipe that Stunning Keisha posted for salmon loaf.

  4. I think my human needs to get busy in the kitchen doing something more that just opening cat food cans – I’ve been wanting that salmon loaf ever since I saw it on CK’s blog.

  5. Such a good idea to bake for the kitties. That loaf looks good. Our cats are the same, they are all fussy about what flavor etc. Sure would be nice if they would all like the same thing. But they are pretty good. Take care.

  6. Well, it took me 8 years until I began to appreciate a good salmon loaf. You can eat it with the catnip too. It’ll taste different but catnip is edible for humans and has many medicinal purposes. TW used to eat the leaves to cure the nausea when she had migraines. She bought catnip tea but I won’t let her drink it.

  7. How nice of you to bake for your kitties! Well, you have enough kitties to guarantee that at least some will like it. As far as figuring out cats, I wish you the best!

The salmon looks great! It seems that kitties would love it!

  8. We’d eat it! Yup. Well, Odysseus might not, but then she’s kinda odd. And hey, our Mumsy would have tired it anyway. She even drink catnip tea! Yes, she shares it with us too. It’s way yum. Oliver was delighted you came to visit his post on our blog and that you agree he’s handsome. Thank you. And no, he does not have a girlfriend – none of us have any girlfriends or boyfriends. We do have some long-distance friends though, they are way cool. We’ll see you guys later!
    Hugs!

    1. I don’t think your Dad would want this catnip tea- it is stuffed with polyfil and just a little catnip in one and silvervine in the other. You kitties would love it though.
