Nosey Rosie’s Tips 44

Hi everyone ! Penny is a little mad that so many requested me, but you gotta keep the fans happy.

Well, you already heard about Friday’s close call last week with the broken Galileo thermometer. That was the big news of the week. Although, I must tell you that 5 of the kitties in this house are currently illegal- they are breaking the law. Not me, of course. Our state requires rabies vaccines every 3 years or every year if you get the non-adjuvant kind. Well. some of us are overdue.

Lucy is overdue by over a year. Bridget and Ethel are only a couple months late along with Trouble. And Emmy is only a few weeks late, but mom is not going to get her one because she has so many health issues already that mom fears it could hasten her demise. Mom doesn’t know how to catch the 3 ferals, but I don’t know her excuse for Trouble. There is a clinic at the local pet store every other Sunday and on Fridays a local shelter does them, but she claims she hasn’t had time. Being that it is National Immunization Month, I thought I would shame her into getting those rabies vaccines.

My Grammie visited on Saturday. I went into the kitchen to see her and all she said was, “you can’t use my phone Rosie.” Can you believe it? She didn’t even tell me how pretty I am. And then she made sure to visit Friday and tell her she wants to stay over some night so she can cuddle with her.

Joanie is preparing for a play date with The Great One and Typhoid Mary on Thursday so I guess I will be in hiding all day. I don’t want to get covered in glitter like everything else and I don’t want a medical exam.

One more thing, I rented out my yacht to The Potato Head family. They were sad that they don’t have a castle this summer. Mom keeps checking Facebook marketplace to buy them a used one, but for now, they are happy. Good thing their Uncle Chip is a captain (see him in the front-the one sliced into chips).

Sorry, that is all I have for you this week.

  1. Lordy, lordy, kitties with boats! Visitors who sprinkle glitter-dust! Fast-moving ferals! And you, Penny, back a the helm! What a life you all lead, never a dull moment, that’s for sure. Maybe your mama will get you your own iPhone, haha. In your dreams….

    1. I wouldn’t say it won’t happen/ Penny is very impawtent and…imperious.

  2. My goodness….never a dull moment around there! Good luck avoiding a medical exam – we hear that’s a regular part of a visit by Typhoid Mary and The Great One – better find a good hiding place. Nice of you to allow the potato head family to use the yacht – looks like a good size for them. Do you charge them rent??????

    Hugs, Teddy

Tell Joanie I said to have fun with TGO and TM. I am glad your Mom is not going to have Emmy get a rabies shot, she is a treasure and I don’t want anything to happen to her. Rosie you don’t want to get covered in glitter, it is hard to get off, I know from experience with glittery cards.
Hugs and scritches to you all!

    1. Glad you got a chuckle. 🙂 Grammie is sweet, but she should have let me play with her phone-she lets The Great One and Typhoid Mary play with it. You should see the dining room rug- lots of glitter. XO

    1. Thank you for the warning. Yes, they can be refused care here too, but she only goes to the 24 hr care specialist and they understand. Well, I hope they do. 🙂 I will find out on 8/16. XO

  10. That’s plenty, Rosie, and please tell Penny i would love to hear from her next.

By the way, the main reason for vaccinating pet dogs, cats and ferrets against rabies is that it gives the human population an extra layer of protection from possibly rabid wildlife. A pet it more likely to run into a rabid wild animal than a person is, and having that pet vaccinated protects the owners from possibly getting it from their pet. Since none of you ever go outside, it’s more of a formality, as no one will ask unless one of you bites a visitor to the house.

  11. Thanks, Rosie! I like hearing about what you and the other kitties are doing. I’ve been been cat sitting for my daughter’s cat, Orion, this week. We don’t have any cats at our house, so it’s fun to pet and play with Orion. Wishing you a fun rest of the week! 🙂

  12. I love hearing all the stories. Mister Kitty was quite unhappy getting his shots but he is doing well so it sure did not stop his ornery nature! We were fearful for our little girl Mollie the long haired chihuahua. When she had her first shots she lost her sight in one eye temporarily. Since two different vets here could not figure out why and said it was probably permanent, we took her to CSU Veterinary Hospital in Fort Collins. They gave her drops and her sight was restored in a week! They are just amazing and they are up to date on everything related to all animals. They treat them all. We always have a good experience so we will stick with them. You all take care and be very good.

  13. That was a fun and informative post sweet Rosie! I don’t understand why some of those vaccines are required for indoor only kitties either, but I suppose some do escape and it might be helpful.

  14. Mudpie is illegal too! She’s not registered with the city (nonsensical way for the city to bring in money) and she’s waaaay overdue on her rabies vaccine. The last time she got one she developed a lump that lasted for 6 weeks, and I’m not taking that chance again.

  15. Lightning is getting older now so Mom tries to keep his vaccinations at a minimum too. We all get three year rabies shots to avoid having to get one every year. Hope the Potato head family enjoys their cruise:)

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
