It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

Hi everyone. Before we get started, I want to give my condolences to Valentine’s family on the loss of their sweet Myrnie.  And please pray for Valentine’s mom who is sick. To visit, click here.

We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Book Date’s It’s Monday What are YOU Reading?

I signed up for a month of Kindle Unlimited because the library was slow getting in the books I was waiting for. I figured I could get a lot of cozy cat mysteries read for The Purrfect Reading Challenge.

The trouble with Kindle is Rosie. Whenever she sees a cell phone , computer or tablet she goes looking for the red string on Youtube.

I read the first 3 ( of 5) of Patricia Fry’s new Olivia series.  I love her Klepto Cat series and so far, this one is just as good. Olivia helps her reporter human solve mysteries.

I also read the first 2 books in Nic Saint’s The Mystery of Max series. There are over 50 in that series, so I am looking forward to reading them all.

Penny will be here tomorrow with a giveaway for Valentine’s Day.

  1. I’m very sad to learn of the loss of Myrnie, and the illness of Valentine’s mom. All good wishes and purrs to them.

  2. Isn’t KU expensive? It may be faster than libraries and you get good books.
    Sorry for loss of Myrnie.
    Can’t wait for Valentine giveaway.

    1. It is $11.99/month so I only did one month. My library never has cat mysteries so it was good for that. XO

  3. I signed up for Kindle Unlimited and absolutely love it! I visited Noir Kitty Mews and left my condolences. Losing a furry family member is ever so difficult. Your cozy mysteries look fun! Thank you for sharing!

  4. Myrna was such a special feline companion for Kerry and David, her passing has hit them hard, especially as Kerry is porrly also.
We joined NetGalley to get books to review for free. That is well worth looking at as no fee and you just have to give a review at the end of a book, whatever the genre might be.
I am reading Return to the River Sea, by Emma Caroll, a marvellous Middle grade adventure and sequel to the famed Journey to the River Sea by Eva Ibbotson. Both are well worth a read!
    Purrs

  5. I didn’t know Myrnie but send m condolences to her family. That is a sweet photo of Rosie.

  6. Oh, that is priceless. I, too, love the Red String. And we did not know about Valentin’s mama, thank you so much for telling us. We will write today. Mama just finished the book by Louise Penny and Hilary Clinton. It was exhausting, she said, but she LOVES Louise Penny’s books.

  7. We hadn’t heard from Valentine in a long time – tried to leave a note on his blog but couldn’t. So sorry though about dear Myrnie AND Valentine’s Mom too not feeling well. My Mom recently joined Nic Saint’s blog – he sure has written a lot of fun kitty mysteries!

    Hugs, Teddy

  8. Sorry to hear about the kitty. I have an 18 year old orange and white tabby who creaks up the stairs each morning! Also, just joined the blog roll – my first Book Date Monday is up. Happy reading. – Lyn

  9. I love the photo of Rosie. My grandcat Frisco loved the mouse game on my daughters older iPad.
Mia thinks it is a waste of birdwatching time.

I’m Dark Sky by CJ Boxer. It is the newest in the Joe Pickett series. I just recently finished binge watching Spectrum Original series Joe Pickett. He is a game warden. I was not at all familiar with any of the actors but I like them.
    Hugs Cecilia

    1. I tried that with her, but she doesn’t like it, SHe likes strings. 🙂 That sounds like a good series. XO

  11. So sad about the passing of Myrnie. Big hug to the mom.

Some kitties love electronics. So cute.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  12. Have a new series that I started, “Sebastian St. Cyr” by C.S. Harris.
Lots of action, interesting characters, and they take place in London during The American Revolution.
    The narrator is fantastic.

  13. Sounds like that will be a nice subscription, keep us posted! I was so very sorry to hear about Myrna, what a sweet kitty.

  14. My sympathies for Myrnie’s family. So sorry for her loss. Prayers for Valentine’s mom.

I love Kindle Unlimited. I’ve only read the first 3 books in the Klepto cat series but I really want to read the rest and the new Olivia series. Also the Mystery of Max series looks really good and I have a few of those on my Kindle.

    1. I have read all the Klepto cat ones and I look forward to reading all the Max ones. I am amazed at how prolific the writers are. XO

  15. Rosie and Kizmet have a lot in common. Kizmet cannot resist the iPad and the TV. We’ve read a couple of Nic Saint books at Cat Scouts Book Club. It is not one of Mom’s favorite series. Mom’s not familiar with the Klepto Cat series and is going to check it out. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, angel Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer & Kizmet

  16. Although I do not know Myrnie, I’m sorry to read the sad news. Saying prayers for the Valentine family and mom. That’s so funny about Rosie. I didn’t know she was techie. 🙂

  17. I am so sorry to hear about Myrnie. I will keep her mom and family in my thoughts.

I have heard good things about the Klepto Cat series and am glad you’ve been enjoying it! I hope you have a good week!

  18. Charlee: “50 books?! Whoa nelly, that’s a long series! You’ll be reading that until the cows come home, go back out, and come home again!”
Chaplin: “Right now Dada is reading something called ‘Space Opera’ which apparently is about a singing contest …… IN SPACE! He says it reminds him of ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ if it had followed Hotblack Desiato instead of Zaphod Beeblebrox, whoever they are.”
