Sunday Selfies

We are joining The Cat on My Head’s Sunday Selfie Blog Hop.

I got to go to the big book sale Saturday so my cats are posing with my finds. Most are for The Great One and Typhoid Mary.

Emmy and Joanie approve of my choices. I even scored some dvds for $1 /each.

And Sammy is posing with the 2 games I bought. The Jetsons was only $1 and I plan to sell that one on Ebay. I always try to find one thing I can sell to at least recoup the cost of my total haul. And I bought Hungry, Hungry Hippos to keep at my house for the kids to play with.

Sammy is not impressed. He can’t believe I was gone all day and didn’t even come home with cat treats.

  1. It is always good to find working old games. When I was a child, one (of the multitude) of pleasures was the game closet my paternal grandparents kept (well, they WERE also raising 2 of my cousins, same general ages. But they were different games from what we had, so that was always good.

  2. Nice haul indeed. Before my time I understand that dad was addicted to book sales and would come home with loads of them. Fortunately, mom “cured” him of this and introduced him to the library.

    1. Thank you. 🙂 I get most of mine from the library too. These were books for my great nieces. 🙂 XO

  3. What fun! We used to have a great used book sale here every year and i would go. Never did think of grabbing one thing to sell so i could recoup the cost, though.

Have a blessed and beautiful Sunday!

  4. I attended a fair in a smallish city, and saw signs for a book sale too.
Being with The Hubby, and that my shelves are already overflowing with books, I nobly steered clear of the sale.
But now I want to purchase the two books written about the Huddleston Railway Cats in the UK!

    1. I think you should order those being that you showed such restraint with the hubby. 🙂 XO

  5. Cute photos and great finds. I always enjoyed going to sales and looking for books.

  6. Charlee: “Our Dada says he remembers Hungry Hungry Hippos from when he was little!”
Chaplin: “He says he wanted it, but he never got it!”
Lulu: “So apparently The Rolling Stones were on to something …”

    1. How sad that he never got it. You should do on Amazon and buy it for him right now. 🙂 XO

  7. That is wise shopping. ~nods~ I’m so lazy I shop almost entirely online and never had the will to set up a seller’s account anywhere. 😉 Happy Selfie Sunday!

  8. You are one smart cookie to sell one to cover the cost – good idea. Sammy, I don’t think they sell treats where your Mom shopped, sorry sweetie.

    1. I hope so. I didn’t list it yet, but I think I can get $30 for it and I only spent $11.50 total on all my finds. XO

  9. Great seeing you and those great books and DVDs Emmy and Joanie. These will be a hit and those are great games too. I never heard of the Jetsons game but Hungry Hippo is Fun to play. Sammy no worries I bet Mom has treats ready in the cabinet. Purrs friends

  10. Maybe before you go on the next shopping trip, put a bag of treats in your purse or pocket…then when you get home, they will think/know you didn’t short change them or forget about them:)

What a swell haul of books and such.
I never played Hungry Hippos and this is the first time I have heard of the Jetson’s game!

    1. Thank you. 🙂 I hope you can go to one soon too. This one was 2 hrs away , no libraries in my area are doing them yet. XO

  12. That Jetsons Game should be a magnet for collectors and nostalgia biffs on eBay ! Then you can buy cat treats.

  13. You found some great bargains! Hungry Hungry Hippos was a favorite for our oldest, Noelle. I remember my sousin Sharon gave it to her. Being a single woman her entire life, I am guessing she thoguht asllt hat racket was good for the parents! HaHaHa
Have a good evening, prayers for Bridget.
