Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop
Sammy is thankful to have a break from his cone. I am thankful to have electricity. Apparently many others waited even more than 3 days to get theirs back.
We are also joining Sammy’s Poetry Day. Here is my poem to go with this photo prompt provided by Teddy’s mom:
He used to deliver the milk every week,
he had a certain kind of mystique.
I may be going out on a limb,
but a lot of kids in town sure looked like him.*
*For anyone to young to understand the joke- read this on Wikipedia.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. I like ketchup on my _____________________.
2. ____________________reminds me of _______________________.
3. It pains me to _________.
4. I can’t _________ without _________.
That’s a cute little poem!
I loved those days when things were simple, and we had a milkman, a baker, the mail and other things, all coming to the door.
Thank you. XO
Sammy such a lovely photo. That poem made me chuckle too! I definitely got that joke
Thank you. XO
We laffed and laffed at your poem! It was spectacular! We we are already thinking about the fill-ins!
Thank you. I look forward to your fill-ins. XO
Cutie Sammy 😍
I like your poem and the humor 😉😁
Thank you. XO
I’m glad your electricity is back!
Thank you. Me too 🙂
Yay for having your power back!!!!!
Your poem was good, but I am not sure why mum laughed 😉
Purrs,Julie
Thank you. XO
HAHAHAHAHA – that was a fabulous poem…..and it wouldn’t surprise me if there were a lot of little kids in town growing up with a mysterious “need” to be milkmen/women when they grew up! Glad you have your power back – let’s hope that doesn’t EVER happen again.
Hugs, Teddy and Mom
Thank you. XO
LOL! Love the last line of your poem!
Thank you. XO
Love the poem and glad to know your power is back. We only had to endure a day and a half at the worst in the past years.
Thank you. XO
Sammy you are looking as handsome as ever! Congratulations on freedom from the cone! 🙂 XO
Thank you. XO
MOL! The mom got that joke. Cute poem!
Thank you. 🙂
My mother’s children all looked very different and she would tell people “there was a different milkman every year” LOL But I still read about it on the wikipedia …. I didn’t realize it was a “thing” like that
That is a funny story 🙂 XO
Good for you Sammy, I’m glad you are cone-free. So sorry about the electricity, that isn’t nice on a hot summer, not nice at all! I love the milkman reference, our milkman was a red head and my brother had red hair when he was born – my Dad used to tease Mom all the time – thankfully, my bro looked exactly like my Dad once he grew up.
Sammy thanks you.. That is funny about your brother 🙂
Wink wink got that last line and giggled .
Hugs Cecilia
I’m thankful for those two things too. Those cones are awful and being without electricity is more than awful.
I love your poem and I laughed out loud.
I’m all ready for the Friendly Fill-ins.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥
Terrific thankfuls, hooray for cone-free time Sammy! Love that poem, too funny. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Thank you. XO
Glad you are out of your cone Sammy! Love the poem too. Dad remembers the milk man and that was a great time in his life.
Thank you. XO
Loved the poem 🙂
Thank you. XO
Good things to be thankful for. Those cones are a pain but they’r supposed to help you Sammy.
Thank you. XO
Ha Ha – your poem made our Mom laugh right out loud:)
Glad Sammy is without his cone. Misty’s reappears tomorrow.
Woos, Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Thank you. I will be praying for her. XO
Cute poem:) Do you know what is causing Sammy’s allergy?
Thank you. No, I don’t know yet.
Love the picture of Sammy, is he ever a handsome cat! Your poem made me laugh, it’s always good to laugh! XO
Thank you. XO
We’ll bet it feels good to get rid of that cone. Mom is old and got that!!!
The Florida Furkids
Thank you. XO
That’s a funny poem. I am glad you have your electricity back and Sammy has his dignity back. 🙂
Thank you. 🙂
It’s crazy how hard that storm hit some areas in the northeast!
Yes, it was very random.
That old saw! LOL!
🙂
I am glad Sammy gets to take a cone break and love the poem. I got a chuckle out of it.
Thank you. XO
I’m so glad Sammy was able to have a cone break and that you got your electricity back!
Thank you. XO
Great news that Sammy is cone free.
Thank you. XO
Hooray for Sammy, i am glad he is doing better.
Your poem is fabulous! When Little Girl was born, she didn’r really look like either of us, and so Sweetie said she looked like the mailman. Laughing, i pointed out that as much as i liked Mr. Benny, our mailman at the time, who was a good Christian and a friend, she was obviously not biracial so it couldn’t be him!
That is funny 🙂
Hello, handsome Sammy! We’re so glad you’re getting a break from that cone of shame. The last time a kitty at our house wore a cone was when Tonks wore it after her spay, and she always looked so sad and pathetic when wearing it. We hope you stay free of that cone, Sammy! And your poem really had me laughing!
Thank you. XO
Three days without electricity. Oh that does sound serious.
It was tough.
Glad you get a break from that bad old cone. Those are never any fun or so I hear
Sammy thanks you. XO
You’re Welcome Sammy. You deserve a permanent break from the cone.
He agrees 🙂
Oh the cone is something no one seems to like very much, but it does help you heal. Always my pleasure to stop by and say hello. Have a wonderful Friday. HUGS across the miles
I am very late because I Put the birthday post up for my SIL Zach and his twin sister. He gave me the cutest photos so I shared them here: https”//mytatascottage.blogspot.com
Thank you. I will check it out, I didn’t know you had another blog. XO
Oh my gosh, too funny on the poem!! Wish I was too young to get it – LOL.
Thank you. XO
