Goodbye My Sweet Emmy

I knew it was coming, but I didn’t want it to. We had to say goodbye to Emmy this morning. Despite all her vet care and medicines, she kept losing weight and getting weaker, so we made the difficult decision no one ever wants to make.

Emmy was always a sick little kitty. She showed up in our yard in the spring of 2017 and had a heart problem at that point. She later developed CKD, hyperthyroid, high blood pressure and had a large growth on her liver. She was so good about taking her 7 medicines and just kept being herself right until the end. I would have loved to have had her for her entire life, but I am thankful for the years we had together.

Thank you, Ann, for this beautiful badge above.  And thank you all for purring and praying for her for so long.

And another thank you to Benji and Dalton’s mom for this beautiful badge:

And to Cecilia for this lovely poem:

Ever so beautiful Tuxedo lady
Mom loved you to the moon and back
Most adorable pink nose EVER
You were a Warrior Lady cat…may you days going forward be full of warm sun puddles, gentle breezes and butterflies

  15. I knew this was coming when you took some time away from the computer but I didn’t want to see this day. I am so sorry, Ellen. Emmy has always touched my heart, all the Meowing Crew have my heart. I am so comforted today by “I Am Not A Skunk.” I just read it and it is in my lap. I am comforted to have Emmy’s book and Prancie’s book too. I know you will walk the path of grieving through this and I know you know you are not alone. I am holding your hand and keeping you and Emmy close to my heart. Sending you hugs and thanking you for sharing Emmy with us… hoping the memories will comfort you as I find them a comfort today. ♥

  16. My deepest condolences; I’m so, so sorry for Emmy’s passing. I know only too well how hard the decision is, even when you know it’s the kindest, most merciful thing to do. Fly free, sweet one, and be well and be whole now. Godspeed. ♥

  17. We are heartbroken that sweet Emmy has gone, yet know deep within that she is still here and lives on, in the hearts of her pawrents, her fursibs and all those who love her and especially with You, Miss Ellen, who made her time here on Earth the best it could have been. Hugs to you, and soft purrs of comfort to you all.
Fly free, sweet Emmy, in the Purrfect Land beyond the Rainbow Bridge, where there is no sickness or pain and where you will all meet again one day, safe in the Loving Paw of the Great Cat in the Sky.

  18. I am so sorry to hear his news, Ellen. Your sweet Emmy was such a trooper and a fighter for staying with you as long as she could. In the few years she was with you, she knew only love and all that goes along with that, something she had not known of before coming to you. She sure chose the best place, didn’t she? I am glad she stayed with you long enough, (though still too short a time)…to make many special memories which will now be your precious treasure, deep in your heart.
Sending a ton of love and many big hugs to you att this difficult time.

(I just sent you an email, and made a blog post to honor Angel Emmy.)
