Penny’s Tips Volume 97

Hi everyone! I have a lot of ideas for you today so you may want to take notes. Plus, I am having a giveaway!

First off, most important- the giveaway. A catnip blanket. Mom made a tie blanket, but she added a velcro spot to add catnip. There are also 3 felt hearts she put silvervine on. Just leave a comment to enter- sorry, US only as shipping is so darn expensive. Just comment on this post by 9PM (EST) Thursday. Winner will be announced Friday.

This is an easy gift to make for your kitty and no sewing is required, For directions see my post with the Christmas one. Click here.

Mom made another scrap wreath- she seems to really like those things. She found a heart wire frame at The Dollar Tree.

Speaking of Dollar Tree, mom found some great gifts- chocolate cherries for Dad, a Daniel Tiger book for The Great one’s little sister and a cool thing that looks like a key that you use to open doors so you don’t get germs on your hands.

In case you are wondering about those felt hearts mom put silvervine on, she didn’t make those. She bought a whole box of them on sale at Michael’s for $2.99. Joanie is posing with them. These would cost a lot more from a pet store.

If you don’t have a Michael’s near you, you can make your kitty a simple Valentine that he/she will love. Just take a red pipe cleaner and shape it into a heart.

I enjoy that so much it gives me laser eyes.

And one more easy and cheap idea, you can make a bookmark out of paint chip cards ( free at Walmart, Lowes, etc. ). All you need is a paint chip card, hole punch ribbon and stickers.

Well, that is all I’ve got. I hope I gave you some inspiration to let everyone you love know you care- including your kitties. And don’t forget to enter my giveaway

  1. Penny, I always look forward to and enjoy your tips. I’m going to try making a tie blanket for Easter. I’d love to win the cute pink catnip blanket for my favorite kitten Joey. My Angel Zipper’s vet adopted Joey from a rescue. She is a cute playful fashionista kitty.

  2. Penny what great tips! I really like that wreath, and I love the idea of paint chip cards as bookmarks! You and Joanie look so cute today in the pictures! XO

  3. I bought a catnip blanket for each of my girls and they loved it so much and then they finally died. This would be so good to have on the boat.

  4. Wow, these are all amazing ideas, Penny! My human wishes she could go out and pick up some materials but we are still in a hot spot for Covid, and she is stuck ordering even the basics for delivery.

  5. Wow, Penny, You are one busy kitty!! Love all those ideas and suggestions!
We don’t have kitties here right now, but if we win, we would donate it to our vet who has a fairly big shelter behind his practise for unadoptable kitties. Its called Froggy’s Pond after the fist kitty that inspired it, he runs it with his wife and many volunteers….which one day may include me, if and when I retire:)

  6. Penny, we love chocolate covered cherries at Christmas and our choice is Queen Anne’s too since we can’t get Brach’s anymore. Many wonderful things in this post. Your Mom’s scrap wreaths are clever and very pretty! As usual I will pass on the giveaway and let someone with a kitty give a home to the sweet blanket!

    1. My mom and I thank you. There are only 5 cherries per package so mom might get dad another one. 🙂 XO

  7. I really enjoyed today’s bloggy, Penny. You have been busy and you have also come u p with some great ideas too. I am still on the move to find some playing cards so I can get my fortune told. And Mom has pipe cleaners but they are all white. She’ll make me a Valentine anyway! What a beautiful wreath and the blankie ! Mom said she has seen those key looking things. Do they work? And she ought to get a Daniel Tiger book former grandson James! She’ll start looking!

    1. My mom and I thank you. Tell your mom she can get red pipe cleaners, the Daniel Tiger Book and some cards at The Dollar Tree. She can even get fun cards with a kid theme. 🙂 Yes, the key things work. XO

  9. I’m commenting, but don’t have a kitty so don’t throw my name in the mix.
