Penny’s Tips Volume 80

Hi everyone! I have a craft for you today plus i want to tell you about some superstitions.  Grammie loaned me this book titled Knock On Wood by Linda Spencer.

This book says if you find a penny heads up, keep it, if it is heads down, give it away because it is bad luck. That seems kind of mean to give bad luck away. My mom picks up all pennies ( even me).

It also says if you give a garment as a gift be sure to include a coin for good luck. I have heard of doing that when giving a purse to someone, but never clothes- Mom! Take note!

And now for a super easy Halloween craft-

All you need is a black wreath ( Michael’s has them 40 % off). If you can’t find one, you can spray paint a regular one.

Then you add a pretty ribbon and glue some sparkly items on it. Mom went a little crazy with this one, you don’t need that many items. Next week, I will have more superstitions for you and another Halloween craft.

  1. And my M in L said you need to place a new penny on knives if you gift them to anyone.
But not a nice penny like you, there are none new of you to give away! We love you and wouldn’t think if it, nor your mom, we are SURE of that!

    Interesting wreath you made there!

  2. What a wonderfully spooky door wreath that is! I may need to get my Mom to make one for our door even though no trick or treaters this year………

    Hugs, Teddy

  3. My Mom was a believer in putting a coin in a purse that was given as a gift… sweet memory for me. Your Halloween wreath is Spooktacular! Great idea. I will have to find something for the front porch, a pumpkin for sure!

  4. Penny, now that is a neat wreath! We think all pennies are lucky (even you!) and also pick them up.

  5. I knew about finding pennies, but I didn’t know about a coin in clothing. I learn something new every day.

I love your spooky wreath. Mom did a great job.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

  8. That’s a very Halloween-y wreath, nice too. Mom picks up all coins she finds and never looks to see if they are heads up. One time she found a $20 bill:) And yes, she has heard that about giving a purse or wallet and putting a coin in it, but never for a piece of clothing. That’s very odd.

  9. Haha I agree it’s kind of mean to give away bad luck to someone 🙂 Penny, we know you are a good luck!
The Halloween wreath is very pretty 🙂

    1. I never give anything sharp for fear of severing a friendship- I didn’t know about a coin with that.. 🙂

  10. My mom usually picks up pennies–upside down or right-side up–when she finds them. Ooh that wreath you and your momma crafted is spooktacular! Mom and I love All Hallows Eve decor and we also love doing crafts any time of the year. Purr purr purr.

  11. Granny picks up every penny, with or without the head up or down, she says it’s the start of a million…well…we still have to wait a little longer if that’s true…MOL😺Double Pawkiss🐾😽💞
