Friendly Fill-Ins Week 227

Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you.

1. You will never find _______________ in my home.

2. Once a year, I __________________.
3. _________ has gotten me in trouble.
4. The last time I _________ was when _________.
My answers:
1. You will never find cigarette smoke in my home. No one is allowed to smoke here. I have a sign that says if you’re smoking, you better be on fire.
2. Once a year, I buy a gigantic cabbage at the farm stand in town, shred it all in the food processor, fry it and freeze it in quart bags to use for lazy pierogi all year.
3. Taking cats in has gotten me in trouble. I have had to fight for almost every cat in this house. Although, my hubby was much better about the last three.
4. The last time I wore a bathing suit was when we were on our honeymoon-almost 28 years ago. I  haven’t been swimming since.
And the winner of Penny’s giveaway is Timmy Tomcat!
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

Here is a flashback of Angel Lucy with my ghost collection in October 2015.

  1. My answer for #1 would be the same, no cigarette, though we don’t have the sign 😀
Angel Lucy looks happy with your ghost collection. Such a sweet face 🙂 Have a great weekend xo

  2. Awww, Angel Lucy sure looks contented with her ghosts!!

    1. You will never find xylitol in my home. It is toxic to animals. No psyllium either, I am very allergic to that stuff. Now I keep finding recipes that use it, yikes!

    2. Once a year, I try to get my closets reorganized…I hate that job…don’t think it will happen this year…too much other stuff going on, the best excuse ever, MOL!.
    3. My temper flares have gotten me in trouble, once in a while..
    4. The last time I saw my sister and cousins was when we all got together last November, don’;t think it will happen this year…(And another answer tor #2, actually, as we try to get together each year at that time to remember and celebrate our mutual Aunt.)

    1. I miss my Lucy. Thank you for these great answers. Psyllium is in a lot of stuff. I try on the closets too, but I am an optimist and hope I will fit in many things again so I keep them.
I am sorry COVID is keeping you from family. XO

  3. MOL Mom had to fight the dad for us all too! Good answers! Angel Lucy is such a beautiful baby. And congratulations TIMMY!!

  4. Exactly. Same here. No smoking!

I admit though that I used to smoke for a few years during my late 20s-early 30s. I detest the smell these days.

    Marie x

  5. Smoking is strictly banned in our home too.
I have a friend of almost 50 years who is a heavy smoker. Every time she visited she would ask if she could open the window and put her head out to smoke. I used to tell her that if she did she would follow the smoke out of the window. She did eventually get the message and would go in the garden or greenhouse to smoke.

  6. That’s a very sweet picture of angel Lucy💗 Concats to Timmy🎉 Great answers on the Fill ins, Ellen. No more smoking in this house since Granny gave up on smoking about 8 or 9 years ago after almost 40 years of dependancy on the bad habbit. We all see more clearly now😸
😸Pawkisses for a wonderful weekend to all of you🐾😽💞

  7. No smoking here – EVER! Love all the filling ins because other than the cabbage shedding and taking in cats, my Mom says SHE could have put those same words in the blanks!! That photo of Lucy with the ghosts is totally adorable!

    Hugs, Teddy

  8. Ellen,

Cigarette smoking isn’t allowed in our house, either. That stuff is awful to get out of every aspect of your home. People who smoke don’t realize how invasive the scent is. When DD#1 used to smoke I couldn’t stand being too close to her because her clothing, hair, … reeked of smoke. Ugh! Thanks for hosting the Friday fun. Have a good weekend!

    1. I know what you mean. I can’t stand to even walk by a smoker. Have a great weekend. XO

  9. Love your fill-ins. We’re going to be leaving shortly so not much computer time when we’re traveling from port to port.

I’m with you smoking. No smoking in our home either.

Congratulations to Timmy Tomcat for the win.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  10. I liked your replies number one is a no no for me too 🙁

That is the cutest photo heheh!

Have a cuddlytastic safe weekend 😷😷😷

  11. Love answers to Friendly Fill Ins especially # 1 & #4. We so agree with #1 about cigarette smoke.
    Concats to Timmy Tomcat.
Love your flashback of Angel Lucy and the ghost. So cute and adorable.

  12. Awwww for Angel Lucy and I love your fill-in answers- especially #1! Here are my answers:
    1. You will never find anger or resentment in our home.

    2. Once a year, I clean out all the drawers and closets.
    3. My sense of humor sometimes has gotten me in trouble.
    4. The last time I went on vacation was when times were normal.

    1. Thank you 🙂 Thank you for these great answers. Good girl too clean out drawers and closets. 🙂 XO

  13. Good answers, Ellen! No smoking in my home either, it’s a hazard for those with asthma, and I consider it a potential fire hazard too. XO

  14. Oh, I love how Lucy had her paw on one of them. She was vers very cute. And it sounds like your husband has accepted reality. ~grin~ Be well, my dear!

  15. There are no smokers here either. Mom was walking us today, and a car went by with the windows open. The lingering smell of smoke as the car sped by was amazing. She could never live with that smell in the house either.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  16. Love the answers on the fill ins and always enjoy and love the photos. I am not sure Miss Daphne came out of hiding yet as we had Monster Vac at our house today. Mister Kitty could care less. He finds a comfy spot to hang out and he’s happy. Have a wonderful weekend. HUGS and LOVE

    1. Thank you. Most of mine are afraid of the monster vac too. XO and love to you

  17. Yep, no smoking here either. No swimsuit for a long time, 19 years. No swimsuit now… ever.
    My Fill-Ins…
    1. You will never find carpeting in my home.
    2. Once a year, I eat creamed herring for good luck for the New Year. I should have had much more of it because 2020 has been a trial
    3. My quick temper has gotten me in trouble.
    4. The last time I filled up our vehicles with gas was when SSNS retired.
    I’m late but here!

    1. Thank you for these great answers. We only have 2 braided rugs and I am tempted to ditch them as they nauseate the cats 🙂 I have heard black eyed peas for New Year’s is good luck too. I wish I had tried some. I can’t imagine you with a temper. Glad you haven’t had to fill the vehicles with gas. I never pump gas, I rode with my gas warning light on yesterday then got home and told hubby we need gas. 🙂 Have a nice weekend. XO

  18. 1. You will never find mushrooms in my home. All my boys and me as well, dislike them. A lot.
    2. Once a year I eat what I want and as much as I want and the heck with it.
    3. MY sense of humor, which is very active sometimes gets me into trouble as well.
    4. The last time I wore a bathing suit, I was like, 12. I don’t swim…afraid of water in that type of situation.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. A lot of people don’t like mushrooms. I wish I only ate what I wanted once a year- I do every day. XO
