Penny’s Tips Volume 51

Hi everyone! No, I am not getting married. My mom and dad had their wedding anniversary last week. My mom told me that she put a penny in her shoe for good luck on her wedding day- I guess it worked being that they have been married for 27 years.

There is a saying about having something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a lucky sixpence for your shoe. Back in the olden days when they got married, you couldn’t just go online and order up a sixpence so she used a penny. So my tip is to add a penny or a sixpence to your shoe on your wedding day.

  1. Conctulations to your mom and Dad. I have a 6 pence in case you find a mancat you love. I’ll send it to you then XXXX

  2. Very interesting tip today … I have heard about a penny before but not for a long time so I didn’t remember it until you wrote it and I don’t remember hearing it at the end of “something old something new” … so that part was cute.
Do you need to have the penny all day or just at the ceremony??

  3. So sorry about JJ. So sad.

I didn’t know about the penny. What a great tip.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

  4. I like the line:
see a penny pick it up, all the day you’ll have good luck
You’d be amazed how many pennies we found on our walks.
We are the only folks who bother to pick them up.
    Hugs Cecilia

  5. As it was, i almost had a blister on my feet from wearing heels at my wedding, i am not sure what might have happened had i added a coin, although i agree it is good luck.
