Friendly Fill-Ins Week 172

Hi everyone! Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. Please leave your link (at bottom of post) here or at my co-host’s Four-Legged Furballs. You can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you.

1. My favorite Peanuts character is ______________________.

2. I knew I was no longer a child when ____________________.

3. I was shocked when I learned that _________.

4. I always feel frustrated when I try to _________.
My Answers:
1. My favorite Peanuts character is Lucy. My angel Lucy would have pulled the football from Charlie Brown too.
2. I knew I was no longer a child when  -I will let you know when that happens. I still feel like a child because my hubby handles everything for me just like my parents did. I am blessed, but I am also in for a big shock someday.
3. I was shocked when I learned that  I was talking to my aunt and not Barney Rubble ( Flintstones) on the phone when I was a kid. For years I thought I was talking to Barney. I wanted him to leave Betty and come live with me- I guess I was a bit of a hussy.
4. I always feel frustrated when I try to fit into clothes in my closet. I have so many clothes, yet I have outgrown so many. Or worse, I bought them with the hope of someday fitting into them, but that hasn’t happened.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

Last week, The Great One and I dressed Joanie as a giraffe, but it didn’t work out very well.
I am praying for all of you in the path of the hurricane. Stay safe.

  1. HAHA on the Barney telephone conversations! Don’t tell her I told you but my Mom has a pile of jeans in her closet she “hopes” to wear again one day – I think they will disintegrate into dust before THAT day comes….tee hee. Have a happy Friday and I think maybe the giraffe outfit just wasn’t meant for Joanie…..just sayin’ !

    Hugs, Teddy

  2. So many of us have closets full of stuff we hope to get into “someday,” but i’ve found someday is not a day of the week and i’m working on not keeping that stuff.

Lucy is a great character, she has style.

Purrseidon is right, something is wrong with the link. To err is human, but to really foul things up requires technology!

  3. Joanie…I love your name, firstly. I wanted to tell you that and you look ravishing.
    Mom answered this time:
    1. My favorite character on Peanuts is Charlie Brown.

    2. I never have gotten past the child in me despite the trials I face.

    3. I was shocked when I learned growing up that folks don’t always follow the rules.

    4. I always feel frustrated when I try to work with higher math again. Time passes without use, and I have to re-learn it.

    • Joanie is named after her Grammie 🙂 I am glad you are a child at heart. Yes, skills leave us when we don’t use them. XO

  4. Love all your fill-ins and we both picked Lucy. She’s so snarky.

I think everyone has clothes they can no longer wear. Hubby and I both do. Need to get rid of the clothes that don’t fit anymore. Just saying.

Love that giraffe outfit. Such fun.

Thank you for co-hosting Friendly Fill-ins.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  5. Poor Joannie the giraffe. I guess I know who your fave Flintstone character is. HAH! TW feels the same way about the clothes in her closet. She’s starting to give a lot of them to the homeless shelter. At her advanced age she feels if she ever gets thin enough the wear them, she’ll have a wasting disease and won’t be going out anymore. Thanks for hosting.

  6. I can sympathize with the clothes situation. My closet is fairly sparse for a gal because I’ve given up on clothes shopping. Nothing seems to fit properly and I’m not an odd-sized person. I just keep wearing the same stuff until it’s not presentable anymore.

  7. I was absolutely unsure what Joanie was supposed to be. She certainly is a good sport. Dad Tom always says that growing old is inevitable but growing up is optional. Ah, yes, the closet conundrum. I always have a minimum of three different sizes never knowing where I am going to fall weight wise from one year to the next. Wishing you all a super weekend. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

  8. My fave Peanuts character is Schroeder! He plays piano…but I liked him long before I was even married, MOL!
I knew I was no longer a child when I started college…and even more so when I had to live miles away from my parents.
I was shocked once when a young man sat beside me on the seat on the bus i was going back to my college town on, and all of a sudden he say=I’d to me, I need to marry you. OMC! I almost got off at the next stop, even though I still had about 50 miles to go…thankfully he got off there and I was still shocked at the upheaval in my quiet life, and though he did not do anything to me other than those words, I felt so awfully vulnerable…
I get so frustrated when I can’t help the residents I take care of get any better, though I know I do make a difference in how they deal with their issues.

    MOL @ the Giraffe wanna-be!

    • Schroeder makes sense knowing how much you love classical music. That must have been scary on the bus. I can see why you would be frustrated when you can’t make someone better- you do make their lives better though. XO

  9. Your fill-ins are purrfect! It sounds like your Lucy would be so proud of the Lucy of Peanuts. Of course, your Lucy was always much cuter. Your answer to #3 had me laughing! Though, it did remind me of the times I talked to Santa on the phone as a child, and even of the time I somehow found a note written by a leprechaun. It’s always nice when family tries to make children’s lives so fun, even if you did try to get Barney to leave Betty in the process. Joanie, I kind of thought you were a cheetah, but you’d make a purrfect cheetah or giraffe. Purrs to all of you!
