Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.I am thankful for all the beautiful cards we have gotten through email and snail mail. I will display them all on the Christmas Eve post. I am truly blessed to have your friendship.

Here is our poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day based on this photo:

You always tell me to avoid a stranger,
always be aware of danger.
Now you want me to sit on this dude’s lap!
No way! I know it is a trap.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first two and our co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. Every Christmas, I ________________.

2. The day after Christmas, I ______________________.
3. ‘Twas the night before Christmas, and _________.
4. All I want for Christmas is _________.

We will be showing our photos of the kitties with Santa this Sunday.

Here is one from 2016, Sammy on Daddy’s ( I mean Santa’s) lap and Phoebe on the back of the chair.

  1. HA! Great poem – that’s what we thought – “who is this guy???”!!! Love the photo of Santa (!) with Sammy and Phoebe…..Sammy clearly isn’t too sure about that guy either!

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy too

  2. Ellen,

    I grabbed your Friendly Fill-ins! 🙂

That poor little kid on Santa’s lap. I know it’s so traumatic for small ones. Our youngest daughter didn’t want anything to do with the fat man her second Christmas. She was only 18-months old. I could not pry her tiny fingers clutched to my shirt if I wanted to, so I held her and sat beside Santa while he held her big sis. You can see the terror in her face in the photo that we have. Poor little thing!

    Have a good day!

  3. Being thankful is a good thing. We don’t do cards here. We just don’t do Christmas in the usual way. It’s less expensive and less frantic.

I love your poem. Spot on.

I’m all ready for Friendly Fill-ins.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  4. Nice poem! I never understood why parents do that. ~shakes head~ Your husband’s willingness to play along never ceases to amaze me. My guy would tell me to jump in a lake. ~grin~ Merry Christmas!

  5. What a great poem! Love the Christmas picture but your cats don’t seem very convinced 🙂
    Have a great Christmas!

  6. You did a super job of summing up what is going through that little kid’s mind!!! We are pretty sure that every family has at least one of those photos in the memory books:)

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  7. I TRULY Love your poem! And that baby looks exactly like she’s saying that!

    1. Every Christmas I look forward to the one son who lives in Charlotte, coming home.

    2. The day after Christmas hardly is noticeable as the family are still gathered.

    3. Twas the night before Christmas and I just go on to bed. All the excitement left me years ago.

4 All I want for Christmas is better health for Katie’s favorite brother.

  8. Isn’t the holiday card exchange wonderful? I am also so grateful for all of the ones I have received (like yours!), and all of the ones I will receive. Every time I find one in the mailbox, it makes me feel so excited. I didn’t get mine sent out until early this week, so I hope everyone will receive them on time. I will be emailing our merry wishes to everyone this weekend. Oh, and I love your poem! It reminds me of when I was a child and scared of Santa Claus. Purrs!
