Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

We are thankful that Moo is home. After a little rest, she will be heading out again. Also thankful that Trouble is not a tree climber. She was checking out the light cord ( it wasn’t plugged in), but Penny caught her and gave her quite a chase.

Here is our poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day based on this photo:

The street is a long way down,
we are definitely not in a town.
Why are we up here?
I want to be a sightseer.
Let’s go see Rockefeller’s  Christmas tree
then ice skate, I will try not to fall on my knee.
Then we can take a bus tour to Dyker Heights*
to see all the Christmas Lights.
In 2010, my hubby took me to NYC so we could go on the Christmas Light and Cannoli Tour. Dyker Heights is a neighborhood in Brooklyn that really knows how to decorate. I wish I knew where they bought their decorations because I have never seen any like these anywhere.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first two and our co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

2. A store I wouldn’t mind being trapped in overnight is _________________________.

3. I’m dreaming of _________.

4. I wouldn’t touch _________ with a thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole.

  1. WOW!!!!!! That tour would be fabulous as I’m a BIG FAN of lots of lights! That was a fun thing to do lucky you. We probably will start “Christmasizing” our house this weekend and I can’t wait. We sure like your poem – and I’m sure Angel Sammy will too. Hugs to you for pawticipating.

    Love, Teddy

  2. That Christmas light tour sounds so wonderful!! I would enjoy something like that too – as long as I don’t have to go up on any tall buildings like that one in the photo. LOL!

  3. Glad the tree is doing fine. I’ve a feeling you’ll do just fine. It appears you have some guards that will make sure things are okay.

    Love the poem. Always do.

I’m all ready for tomorrows fill-ins. We have a yacht club function, but we’re aren’t boating over. We’ll go in our land yacht.

Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. My best to your peeps. ♥

  4. I am glad Moo is enjoying her rest before she resumes her travels.
    Your poem is very good.
The last time we went to New York, Ivor asked me if I would mind if he went up the Empire State Building because he knew I don’t like heights. Each time we had been there before he hadn’t gone up but he really wanted to that time. I said I would go up with him and we would have to go right away before I chickened out.
I am frightened of elevators and heights but I did it! I was very proud of myself. Ivor was too and kept telling everyone what I had done.

  5. We don’t think we would like to be that high up either. We liked your poem a lot. Did you see the story on the news about the new bright and beautiful star on the tree at Rockefeller Center this year? It is amazing.

  6. Welcome home, Moo! You enjoy some rest before heading out for more adventures.

I’m in shock that not even 1 out of 13 kitties at your house is a tree climber. That sure is good news for the tree! 50% of the 6 cats at my house are tree climbers. And though Trouble might not have appreciated the chase, I think it’s sweet that Penny was looking out for her and kept her from gnawing on that cord. That’s one thing I’m having to work on with Tonks.

Your poem is wonderful! I’m now looking at images of Dyker Heighs and am in complete awe. That must be the most magical place to live this time of year. I can’t wait to see your fill-ins tomorrow!

    • I think it is magical, but wouldn’t want to live there because the traffic of people looking at lights is crazy. I am lucky my cats are pretty well behaved. Phoebe was a tree climber when we had a regular tree, but the skinny trees aren’t tempting to anyone.

  7. What a great trip that must have been in 2010! Some friends of mine have gone to NYC during the holidays and they loved it.

And that is great news about Trouble. That must be quite a relief!

  8. Welcome Home Moo! Mom watched the tree lighting last night. She remembers going to NY as a little girl with her grandparents to see the Rockettes and the tree and, when she grew up, going with her parents. She used to go into the city every week when she lived in NJ and had a jewelry business.

  9. Mom would really like to go to NY sometime at Christmas. Did you take any photos of those decorations? It would be fun to see them. Mau hopes to see Sammy tomorrow at the Wildcats party. 10. Your poem is a sweet Christmas memory story ♥ I am glad Moo is home and it looks like KaTwo is telling her to be a good Moo! Good for Penny keeping Trouble out of TROUBLE!

  11. How exciting that you went to NYC! I’ve never been, but I have always thought it would be exciting to be there on Times Square for bringing in the new year. Only problem there is soooo many people, I know I’d have a panic attack.

    Have a blessed day!
