  3. Lately, I have been working on the A-Z challenge coming up in April. ( Hint: I am doing a lot of crocheting). If you are interested in the A-Z blogging challenge, it is open to all bloggers, click here to read about it.
  4. This Winter was surprisingly mild. We had one week with all the snow, we had a foot of it, then 2 inches and then 6 more and then a week later it got warm and melted.

  1. I use dill, too, especially in potato salads and tuna salads. It is good with pork chops, too. It is not good in squash. As newlyweds, I made a squash with dill dish. It was a recipe from a magazine. It was horrible. Poor Bill was trying to choke it down. I finally said, “Don’t eat it!” He didn’t want to hurt my feelings.

Tarragon and fennel are best used sparingly. I agree.

I am a bit nervous about the A-Z, but I was proud of myself last year! I look forward to yours!

    • That was sweet of Bill to try to eat the squash. I have lots of squash recipes and never saw dill in any. I am sure you will do great with the A-Z challenge. XO

  2. Tarragon is a fine herb when used on chicken stuffing or in chicken gravy. Too licoricy tasting if had on vegetables. Dill is good in my books too.

I enjoyed the fill-ins. Of course, I always seem to have fun with them. Thanks for the fun Ellen.

  3. It’s been years since i took the time to crochet (or knit, or do cross stitch), so i’m looking forward to seeing what you’ve been up to!

  4. Oh gosh I forgot about fennel – not crazy about that either……….I said ginger because too much ginger RUINS a dish I think….we didn’t get much winter either but it’s not over YET!

    Love, Pam

  5. I love dill… mostly in potato salad… I never thought of using it in burgers! I am hearing that winter was mild from a lot of people in blogland! Mild in MissouREE, too! Love the Dr. Seuss hat you crocheted for Teddy… sweet! Phoebe modeled it well!

  6. I love dill too, especially in salmon patties, with Dijon mustard too. We also had a mild winter, several 70-degree days. Got a dusting of snow this morning though, so go figure!

  7. These fill-ins are always so fun! I never thought of using dill in hamburgers, and now I must try it. I have never actually participated in the A to Z challenge, but I’m thinking I’ll give it a shot this year. If art is allowed, I just might do a drawing for each letter of the alphabet. I should probably get a head start on that. And our winter was quite mild as well, with far less snow than usual, and only a few days of true cold. As always, we had lots of fun with these! Thank you for hosting this challenge each week, Ellen!

    • I hope you do the A-Z challenge with your drawings. You can do anything you want as long as you go through the alphabet. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins.

  8. I have never tried dill in hamburgers–that would give it a different taste! I bet my husband would like to try that. He does most of the cooking around here. The A to Z challenge sounds fun, but I’m afraid I would get behind. I need to do some major reorganizing of my time–and brain! LOL

  9. I hadn’t thought of using dill in egg salad! I’m going to do that next time! 🙂 Loved your answers – and I’m joining in the A-Z challenge for the first time ever, so I’m looking forward to reading your crocheting adventures. I used to crochet, but haven’t done so in *years*, so I’m pretty sure I’d not do very well at that…heh!!

Thanks for hosting the fun – have a great weekend! 🙂

  12. Hi! Dill is a good one! I never thought about putting it hamburgers. Good idea! I don’t think I’ve ever used tarragon or fennel. If so, it’s been a long time.

Even though I’m crocheting a blanket doesn’t mean I’m good at it! I’ve made a few but I used to have very crooked edges because I don’t count. Right now, this “blanket” just looks like a very long (and a little wide) bookmark.

Hope you all have a nice weekend!

  13. Great fill-ins! Hey, dill! Why do we always forget dill? We love dill! Time to put that spice bottle in front of all others, especially that fennel one that Mom absolutely hates with a passion. Maybe that one needs to find a new home, in the trash.

  14. As I don’t blog on Fridays, do you think it would be okay for me to do some fill-ins right here? purrs

    1. My favourite herb or spice is nip.
    2. An herb/spice I dislike is not nip.

  16. I like dill, too, but have never cooked with it. I’ll have to try it next time I make potato salad.

I look forward to your A to Z posts! I haven’t decided if I’ll be participating this year or not. My mind is on overload already. 🙂

    Have a blessed weekend!

  17. Ellen, I like dill. I usually put it my potato salad. Looking forward to your A-Z Challenge contributions. See ya around and thanks for hosting the Friday fun, my friend!

  18. 1. My favorite herb or spice is hard to define since I use and enjoy so many of them.
    2. An herb/spice I dislike is dill. (How funny, that you love that!!)
3.Lately, I have been working on catching up:) .
4.This Winter was not as bad as we thought it would be…must be because we bought a snow thrower so we were prepared. Go figure! .

    • Thank you for your answers, I enjoyed them. That is funny that you don’t like dill and it is one of the few I enjoy. Yes, whenever you are prepared it works out differently, but that is good.
