Taylor Swift’s Sneaky Cat

Happy Monday everyone! Today is fun and games day and this time the fun is for the humans. I am sure a lot of you have seen the Keds designed by Taylor Swift with a cat on them. They came out about 6 months ago and I wanted a pair, but they sold out immediately at Macy’s. I am actually glad they did.

The more I thought about it, spending $50 on a pair of canvas sneakers is a big waste of money. I decided to just use my generic canvas sneakers that I bought on clearance last year and decorate them myself. I was really cheap and bought some stickers for $1, they are plastic so they should hold up as long as the sneakers:

And if it falls off, I am out less than 10 cents. The Keds version looks painted so if you wanted to buy fabric paint, you could get the exact look. Here is the link to the originals:

The originals are black, but for summer I wanted white. A.C. Moore has all colors for under $4. And the stickers I got came from there too.

In my case, it wouldn’t matter how much I spent on my shoes, they won’t last. Ever since I was a kid, I have been a shoe destroyer not sure what I do and I don’t even go outside much, but I am a scuffer. My Mom said at one point she was getting mad at the shoe store in town thinking they had cheap shoes until she realized it was ME. She should have had me tested 🙂 Fans of The Big Bang Theory will get that joke.

See you tomorrow with medical updates- Spooky is being treated for lyme disease. And Joanie will be showing off her tummy.

  1. What a clevfur idea!

Meowmy has white sneakers she wears to work, imagine if she put stickers on them:))

Our un-fur-the-younger is also a destroyer of footgear…he doesn’t know how it happens either, MOL! At least he has to buy his own shoes now…he is almost 23 years old!
Our auntie always buys 2 or 3 pair of the same shoes…because she perspires so much she leaves salt stains on them, EEUUWWWWW! Her feet leave puddles if she goes barefoot…yuck! Since she has to wear shoes all shift on her 12 hour stints imagine the stinky in them…OMC!! MOL!

At least meowmy is not a shoe destroyer, she actually wears them out.

    1. I am 45 and I still destroy shoes 🙂 Your poor Aunt-ick. I hope your Mom decorates her shoes for work 🙂

  2. Love the sneaks!!! Great idea……………..and you were right about Spooky and lyme disease – thank heavens you pushed the point with your vet so he could get treatment for it. Good for you. Looking forward to tummy photos tomorrow!

    Hugs, Sammy

    1. Thank you 🙂 I will send you a sticker too with Sammy’s prizes in case you want to decorate your sneakers 🙂 I didn’t get to mail it today, but it will go out tomorrow. I wish the vet had listened to me and just done an antibiotic because the test is $100 🙁

    1. Thank you 🙂 I am sure she could use fabric paint and they would look exactly the same and for so much less- then she will have more money to buy you toys and treats. 🙂

  3. guys…yur momz shooz rock de houz….thata z grate eye dea her had…plus her can change kittehz…with out changin shooz !!! sppoky…all de best two ewe dood…we hope de nastzz infectionz getz up & outta ya & never comes bak…ever…….az all wayz, st francis’ blessings two ewe dood ♥♥♥

    1. Thank you 🙂 You are such sweet kitties. Maybe your Mom could get some fishy stickers.

  4. Decorating your own cheap Keds is a great idea! I haven’t worn those in a while due to feet issues, but I remember Keds not lasting too long.

Decorating your own allows you to express your personality more, too!

    1. Thank you 🙂 Keds don’t last any longer than the cheap canvas sneakers you can get anywhere, you are just paying for the name.

  5. We fink yous shoes look better than da spensive ones anyways. After all yous can put whatever kitty yous want on them, including yous own kitties. Well dat’s ifin yous made yous fotos into stickers. Have a pawsum day.

    Luv ya’

    Dezi and Lexi

    1. Thank you 🙂 I don’t have stickers of my kitties, but that would be a good idea 🙂

  6. What a great idea!! My mom was lusting after those too but never bought. She definitely wants to try this out! And she suggests maybe using fabric Mod Podge over the stickers to help them stay on more permanently if you didn’t want to worry about them falling off.

    1. Please thank your Mom- that is a great idea. I had never heard of Mod Podge for fabric, but I am sure I can get it at AC Moore or Michaels 🙂

    1. Thank you 🙂 I will keep you posted on Spooky, but I am sure he is going to be fine.

    1. At least you have a cheaper way to make them now instead of spending $55. I hope your kitties are feeling better.
