Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! I am joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful that I have been getting to go for two walks a day with my folks.

Shhh! Don’t tell the farmer I got on his equipment. I knew I could smell hay.

I am quite the adventure cat. I don’t know why everyone stares when they ride by and see my folks walking me on our own property.

Grammie picked up my medicine at the vet today- thanks Grammie. I love you so very much. I still take my anti-nausea meds so I won’t lose my appetite.

Here is my poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day featuring the letter L- I used all 4 words just like Madi does.

I will never be a lap cat
but sometimes I will wear a hat.
I like beef and turkey, but not lamb
I sure hope I get a visit from my Gram(mie)
I have a hunch
mom and Grammie are going to lunch
I hope they get me a new harness
after Labor day I can’t wear a pink dress

And the winner is Crystal’s Photo Blogging Site. Her adorable kitty will enjoy the mat.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first two and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second two.

Is It Too Early For Apples?

Hi everyone! Mom has been destroying books again! Do you remember last year she made pumpkins? If not, click here.

I didn’t want to get too close, that spray paint smells.

Here are some of the finished apples, if you look close, you will see a worm in one of them.

All you do is take the cover off an old paperback, cut an apple shape out of the book. Then you fold the book back and glue the spine. You can also add drops of glue at the top of each page ( mom didn’t, she is lazy). Some of the books ended up with built-in stems that she painted green ( I think she should have painted them brown). And others, she added a piece of a pussy willow branch. Then she added ribbons and a worm in one 🙂

She is going to donate these to the senior center to put on tables at their monthly birthday dinner then they can give them away, but she said I could take one for a giveaway.

I am having a giveaway of this book apple and this beautiful apple print catnip mat. Just leave a comment on today’s post before Wednesday 9PM (EST). I will announce the winner on Thursday. Feel free to tell me how beautiful I am, I don’t mind.

We are joining Create-with-Joy’s Inspire me Monday Blog Hop ( Yes, I know it is Tuesday). There are almost 200 links on this hop with lots of crafts and recipes.

PS: I hope Grammie visits me soon, I love her so very much.

Ten Things of Thankful

Hi everyone! We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop, #PMT photohunt @tonkstail and Ten Things of Thankful.

Phoebe is exploring the prickly pear cactus.I used ribbet to add a polaroid frame. Her Dad is holding her back so she won’t get pickers. It amazes me that these survive New England winters. The PMT photohunt word of the week is prickly.

Here are my ten thankfuls-

  1. I am beyond thankful for the change in Phoebe from last week to this week.
  2. Thankful for everyone’s purrs and prayers for Phoebe
  3. For no trips to the vet this week.
  4. For cooler weather- I am actually chilly and it feels wonderful.
  5. No plans for the weekend so I will have more time to read.
  6. Joanne’s fabric, so many great fabrics and good prices.
  7. Thankful I got to go out for the day with my Mom .
  8. Thankful my hubby takes good care of the kitties when I go out and gives me an update when I call at noon.
  9. Another successful batch of blueberry ice cream-it is so good.
  10. Thankful for everyone who reads my posts. I appreciate all of you.

Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! Before I get started, I want to have a moment of silence for our friend Esme, who left for The Rainbow Bridge last week. Please visit her family if you haven’t already. Click here..

I am joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful to feel better this week and I am thankful for all your purrs and prayers.

I haven’t seen Grammie since last Wednesday. I hope she comes to see me soon, I love her so very much.

How cute do I look in my harness? Here I am looking for a four leaf clover.

Joanie wants us to call her Dr. Joanie because she took her own stitches out. Her recheck was good though and she is all healed.

Here is my poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day. I used all 4 of the K word prompts this week.

My purrince is really my king
this is not just some fling
Our love is true
without him I ‘d be blue
The only boy with a key to my heart
it was true love right from the start
He makes my heart kindle
may our fire never dwindle

Mom wants to join Wandering Through The Shelves Thursday Movie Picks Blog Hop this week because the theme is the stage.

Here’s my list- all musicals, I can’t sing, but I love musicals.

1. Grease (1978)- I had such a crush on John Travolta ( yes, someone before Nic Cage) when I was a kid, my parents took me to see this. Every time I hear a song from it, I want to burst into song ( but I only do when alone, I don’t want to hurt anyone’s eardrums 🙂 ).

2. Annie ( 1982)- There have been other versions since, but I think this is the best.

3.Jersey Boys (2014)- The story of Frankie Vali and The Four Seasons.

And here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second two.

1._____________________ is a waste of time.

2. My favorite app is ____________________.

3. My first car was ___________________.

#ChewyInfluencer

Hi everyone! Today is Chewy Review day, but we are also having a Fall Fashion Show for your enjoyment.

*Disclaimer- We were given VetriScience Vetri-Lysine Plus Immune Health Bite-Sized Cat Chews in exchange for a fair review. All opinions are our own.

These treats are recommended for cats that need added immune support or respiratory health support so I wanted Polar Bear to try them being that he has Feline Herpes. He has the sneezes year round.

He loves them and now gets 2 a day

( recommended dosage). I can’t say if they help or not because he has been taking them for less than a week. He definitely likes the taste and I think the others would too being that it is tough to keep them away when he is eating his.

I will keep you posted though.

If you want to try them or read their nutritional content , click here

You can get a bag of 120 on sale for $12.26, while there you should stock up on all your pet needs because all orders over $49 include free 1-2 day shipping .Most of the time, my orders arrive in less than 24 hours and that is without a drone 🙂

Now for our Fall Fashion Show:

Phoebe is looking foxy with a fox sweater.

For colder days, Penny recommends this red coat which folds up to fit inside a little pouch.

Tomorrow we have another review and part 2 of our fashion show. Thanks for coming!

We are joining The Chewy Blog Hop hosted by Oz the Terrier and Golden Woofs.

It’s Monday ! What Are YOU Reading?

Hi eveyone! We are joining Book Date’s It’s Monday ! What Are YOU Reading? and Comedy Plus’ Awwww….Mondays Blog hops.

Joanie is going to start with her review.

Mom claims to be half French, she is either fibbing or this book is not correct.

Thank you Joanie, even though you just insulted me. I am still reading the Hemingway Biography and not liking him too much, but I am determined to read about his cats.

I won a book on Goodreads called The Sweet Spot by Christine Carter. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to enjoy their life and be less busy. She offers great tips on simplifying your life and doing what you enjoy. We all have to do some things we don’t want to do in life, but your life shouldn’t be just those things.

I just finished To the New Owners: A Martha’s Vineyard Memoir by Madeleine Blaise. I enjoyed it despite all the name dropping of the rich and famous that stayed at their Martha’s Vineyard family home over the years. She tells of the home her in-laws owned on the island for over 50 years and the sadness of having to let it go.

Thank you for all the purrs and prayers and hee-haws for Phoebe. She actually ate quite a bit on Sunday ( knock on wood, 3 times). The combination of pepcid and anti-nausea meds may be the magic potion needed. I finally gave in and let her go outside in the covered blueberry patch.

We created a monster because as soon as we brought her inside, she kept going to the door and windows meowing to go back out.

Selfie Sunday

Hi everyone! Thank you all for your kind words and purrs and prayers for my health. I am trying my best to be healthy. Mom thanks you all for the tips and product suggestions.

I scared the BeeGees out of my folks Saturday and  they schlepped me off to the vet. I was running back and forth to different litter boxes and meowing and trying to hide. The vet says mirtazapine wouldn’t cause that, but some of my friends that use it have acted funny too.

My folks keep begging me to eat. Dad brought a moth in for me to play with and I caught it-then he took it away- phooey! He thought it would upset my tummy. That I would have eaten.

My Grammie has a bad cold so I haven’t seen her since Wednesday. I love her so very much, I hope she comes to see me soon.

My purrince wrote me a fun poem:

Silly poe-em fur Phoebe
“While thee weather outside iss pawfull,
thee A/C iss so-o deelitefull…
An since wee have no place to go…..
let it snow, let it sn…oh wait it’ss not Winter…
An since wee have no place to go,
let thee A/C blow; let it blow!!!”

I want to thank PetFaves blog for featuring me on their Pet Blogger’s Showcase.

I am joining The Cat on my Head’s Sunday Selfie Blog Hop.

Phoebe’s Press Conference

Hi everyone! We want to give you all an update on Phoebe’s health. She gave me quite a scare this week by not eating. She was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease about 6 months ago and we have been monitoring her. The vet didn’t want to do fluids at home because of her heart murmur. She gets a vitamin B12 shot and an anti-nausea shot every 2 weeks. She eats pretty good for a while after that, but when she doesn’t eat, she doesn’t have much to work with and is currently 5 lbs. 5 ounces, when she was checked 2 weeks ago, she was 5 lbs. 10 ounces- you see where this is heading if she keeps refusing to eat. ( I have tried baby food, people food, etc. )

She now has an anti-nausea pill daily and the mertazapine for appetite which she will get every 3 days. I was disappointed yesterday that she didn’t perk up more after fluids ( she was very dehydrated). We are trying not to run our central air as often because I think it makes her dehydrate even faster than she would without it.

The vet called today with blood work results and her kidney values are not much different than 6 weeks ago. Her white blood count is up so we are waiting on a urine test and should know  Monday if there is an infection. If not, we need to find the cause of that.

We just want to let everyone know what is going on and ask for purrs and prayers. I won’t give up on her until she lets me know she has given up. And she really wants to have another Festivus party in December and dress up for Halloween in a couple’s costume with her purrince.

She is ready to take any questions you may have. We made this press conference photo on photofunia back in 2015.We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop and are very happy it is back on this week.

We are also joining Ten Things of Thankful blog hop. Here are my thankfuls-

  1. Mertazapine, a miracle pill for cats.
  2. I am thankful for the 14 years I have had with Phoebe
  3. and for every day I get with her.
  4. Joanie’s biopsy was benign. 🙂
  5. My trip to Ikea last week- I got the stuffed mice for the cats
  6. and the black cat curtains I have been wanting for over a year, glad they still carry them.
  7. Thankful that our Angel Spooky’s story is included in Black Cats Tell All.
  8. Thankful my Mom and I were able to go for pedicures Wednesday despite my bad toe which is much better.
  9. The blueberry ice cream I made came out great
  10. Friends that came over to visit and test my ice cream.
