Hi everyone! Thank you to all who participated in the fill-ins this week. I am planning to do every challenge, some will be much harder for me than others. I am introverted so meeting someone new with a similar interest and even smiling at someone are going to be toughies. I look forward to napping and going to the library though.
Messymimi’s challenge was to find 3 things to be thankful for each day this week.
I am thankful for having a nice and talented friend that gave me these 2 sculptures. If you like them, you can purchase a customized one on Etsy.
This one looks like my blog header This one looks like Emmy
I am thankful that we had friends over to watch a movie last night. And I am thankful for all my kitties.
The sculptures are art, so we are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop. We are also joining The 200th Pet Parade!
Hi everyone! My Grammie watched us while Mom and Dad were gone to a party so we had our own party. I love my Grammie so very much.
Brat Brody did his selfie while sitting on Mom’s lap. He likes to hold hands/paws with Mom- gag me with a catnip mouse.
We are joining The Cat on my Head’s Sunday Selfie Blog Hop and Rascal and Rocco’s Pet Parade today.
Happy Saturday everyone! Today is art day so I used pizap to make a Christmas photo. I used it the other day to make our email Christmas Card.I hope I sent it to everyone online that was on the list, but if you didn’t get one, here it is: I have been getting lots of beautiful cards from everyone that I want to display on my blog. I use wordpress, can anyone please tell me how to put all the cards on display. I have tried widgets, image, but then it asks for all kinds of links, etc. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Here is a photo of Sammy that I uploaded to pizap and used 2 Christmas frames on: I used to write about products on Saturday, but haven’t in a while. This week I want to tell you about a place in my little town that makes fleece blankets called Berkshire Blanket. They sell fleece blankets and throws as well as sheets, I just went there yesterday to purchase a couple Christmas gifts. Here is their link in case you are looking for something like that: http://www.berkshireblanket.com/category/customer+service/about+us.do. I am pleased to say that they donate lots of blankets to local animal shelters as well as recently donating 2,000 blankets to The Red Cross. It is nice when businesses give back.
Here is Sammy’s letter to Santa:He wants a scrapbook to put all his cards and photos from Cat Scouts ( shhhh! don’t tell him, but I already got him a nice green one). We are hopping: and:
Happy Friday everyone! Today is book recommendation day and I have a great book for you , but it doesn’t contain a cat. It is about a woman who starts out as a poor single mom with a very sick child and works hard to build a tea business.
Life By The Cup by Zhena Muzyka was fantastic. I am recommending it because she gives us a lesson in each chapter about how to follow your dreams. I am sure we all have similar dreams to save cats and improve the lives of all of them. Her lessons are explained through how she slowly grew her tea business, but we can apply these lessons to our own lives.
I am a coffee drinker and usually only drink tea when I am sick, but this book left me craving for tea.It was like a gypsy spell was cast on me and I had to have some tea. I finally got to a store that sells her Gypsy Tea and it is so good. I bought a sampler package for $5.99 at Wegmans ( Whole Foods carries it too), a little pricier than some, but affordable. It is pricier because it is truly organic-she literally traveled the world to find fair trade tea.
Each chapter explains a particular flavor so I recommend you get a sampler so you can be sipping as you are reading, I wish I had done that. Lucy is recommending The Best Cat Book Ever because we won some postcards:I would like to thank who we won them from, but several cat blogs were raffling them off so we don’t know who we won them from. If it was your blog, please let us know so we can give you a shout out ( or meow out).
Please visit us tomorrow or over the weekend for the last chance to win those turkey legs. Phoebe can’t wait to visit you all on Sunday.
Happy Friday everyone! First off, Congratulations to Kitty Cat Chronicles for correctly guessing the question in the newsletter- the answer was Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch. And because Dezi and Lexi were so close, I am sending them some of my made with love toys and a dash of silvervine. I checked and the newsletter got sent out so if you signed up and didn’t get one please check your SPAM folder. If it isn’t there then please sign up again.
Lucy chose a book about a black cat, being that it is October and Halloween is coming. The Autobiography of Foudini M. Cat by Susan Fromberg Schaeffer is a sweet book written in the cat’s view. It is fiction, but still gives insight into the cat’s mind. My only issue ( not Lucy’s) was that the cat isn’t neutered. I think all cats ficticious or not should be fixed.
I actually don’t have a review this week, I have been too busy freezing 100 ears of corn ( I had to take it all off the cob) and making ground cherry jam. I am excited that several books about cats are coming out this month. You all know Jackson Galaxy’s Catification will be released soon. I also just read about a book that gives cat ladies a better rep, it is called Cat Lady Chic by Diane Lovejoy. And another one, The Cat on My Lap by Callie Smith Grant , a collection of stories about cats, will also come out in October. I am going to be doing a lot of reading this month.
Here is a photo one of Lucy’s previous costumes: She was Lucy from the Peanuts comic strip. All I did was paint a piece of cardboard red , add the spot for her head and the words.
We just joined the blog hop:
