Hi everyone! We are joining three hops today, but first I would like to ask for purrs and prayers for our friend Astrid of Four-Legged Furballs. She had surgery on what was thought to be a benign tumor, but now needs more surgery because it is a malignancy. Her mom is very worried so please pray for her too.
First off is Joanie’s review:
I haz no time for review this week. Halloween only 2 weeks away and I needz costume.
Sammy and I thank Grammie for late birthday gifts.
The book I am going to review ties in with my “Spark” for this week.
Einstein and the Rabbi: Searching for the Soul by Naomi Levy is an amazing book. The author was inspired by a letter that Einstein wrote to a man who had lost his son.She searches for the man and many others whose lives he had touched. Her search is only part of the book though, she also offers ways we can connect with our soul. One way is through meditation, she recommends just meditating on the word “husa”. I was not familiar with the term before reading this book. It means an artists love for his ( or her) creation even if it is flawed. Much like we are all flawed, but God still loves us. By meditating on this we will become more forgiving and soften our judgement of others and ourselves.
Hi everyone! Time for The Friendly Fill-Ins. Make sure you add your link at McGuffy’s Reader, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate.

Keep calm and hug your cat *
2. Nic Cage’s choice of movies to act in disappoints me. I was so excited to have a new DVD from the library last Saturday called Arsenal, but we only watched 10 minutes of it because it was so violent ( and I like mob movies so I am not squeamish).
3.Rescuing cats is my calling in life.
4.In retrospect, I should have majored in something other than Elementary Education in college like English /Writing.
Love with a Chance of Drowning by Torre DeRoche. I not drowning for anyone, I am glad my boyfriend, Simon is land lover like me.
Thank you Joanie. I actually loved this book. I am not sure why because I am not a fan of the ocean, I can’t even stand the smell. For some reason though this memoir pulled me right in. A 25 year old Australian girl spending a year in the USA meets a 30 year old man planning to embark on a journey around the world in his used yacht. When the time comes, they are still together and she joins him. It is quite an adventure with some humorous parts and some dangerous ones too.
I actually bought this at The Dollar Tree, the word memoir on the cover got me.Now that I have enjoyed it, I am going to give it away. If you want to be entered in the giveaway just say so in the comments. Books are heavy though so I can only afford to send it to someone in the USA, sorry.
My Spark for the week is: Kindness is free, sprinkle that stuff everywhere.I saw that quote on Pinterest with no author listed. Emmy made a little twist on it.
Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins, but first we want to offer our condolences to our dear friends, The Florida Furkids. Their Dad passed away on Thursday, our thoughts and prayers are with Allie, Raz and their mom, Sharon.

I have broken my foot bones ( right one).
When I go out to breakfast, I order french toast or pancakes- I am too lazy to make those at home.
As Summer officially comes to an end, I say good riddance-it was too humid.
Before this year is over, I really need to declutter- I keep talking about it and writing about it, but never actually do it.

I am thankful that when Mom brought me to the vet Tuesday, they didn’t steal my blood. I just got a B-12 injection and an anti-nausea one. Mom talked to the vet about those and being that they are safe, I can get them every 14 days. The vet checked me and I wasn’t dehydrated so I didn’t need fluids like the last time.
I am thankful for The Crotchety Cougar Club, a place where all my older lady friends and I can complain. Please read about it on Kali’s blog. And please pray for Kali because she hasn’t been feeling well. I am thankful that we gained two more members this week ( they are not listed yet on Kali’s post, but will be added soon).
Some say family has to be blood
I tell them to jump in the mud
My folks and I don’t share DNA
but for my health they always pray
Brody may drive me nuts
but I love that little putz
Family are those that love you
no matter what you do
Brody and Prancie are pretty chummy
And here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for week 63. Mom came up with the first two and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second two.

Hi everyone! Today is Phoebe’s Gotcha Day!!! I got her 14 years ago. My Mom drove and my niece was there too. My niece had just finished her freshmen year in high school and now she has been out of high school for 11 years and is married with a baby-time flies by too quickly. To read Phoebe’s story click here.
I love you Phoebe!

Hi everyone! I know it is Phoebe’s Day, but I need to list my 3 thankfuls first. I am thankful that my niece introduced my Mom and I to pedicures in 2013 and now we got every 6 weeks, I am thankful Sammy didn’t pee on the couch today, and I am thankful that Phoebe is so good at posing for photos.
And now, here’s Phoebe!
Hi everyone! You are not seeing double. Joanie is a brat so Mom went and bought another scratcher. Actually, she bought 4 more because Petco had them on clearance for $3.
I am still tuckered from The Great One’s visit. She calls me Fee, she seems to like my name. Do you remember my car that was Mom’s niece’s? If not, click here. Well, now The Great One plays with it and I think she is sending me a message- look what she put in the trunk! One of our toy rats.

Hi everyone! Time for Friendly Fill-Ins Week 45. Please be sure to add your link at McGuffy’s Reader. You can also answer in the comments.
1. The oldest item in my home is __________________________.
2. The oldest item in my refrigerator is _____________________.
3. My family heritage is .
4. My favourite family tradition is .
The oldest item in my home is this platter that belonged to my paternal grandmother. I am guessing it is from the 1930’s.
The oldest item in my refrigerator is mustard, it expired in March 2015-oops! I actually replaced it Thursday along with the ketchup that also expired in 2015.
My family heritage is Polish on my Mom’s side and French Canadian on my Dad’s side.
My favourite family tradition is the Christmas Eve meal that we put on every year. My maternal grandfather’s family always celebrated with a Polish Wigilia with a several course meatless dinner. I continued that tradition, but it was a lot of work making the foods and no one was thrilled with them so now we do a buffet, but the important part is being together.
