Friendly Fill-Ins Week 15

Hi everyone! I can’t believe it is already week 15 of the fill-ins, thank you to all who participate. I love learning more about everyone and I hope you do too.

2. My guru is JAMES ALTUCHER, HE HAS WRITTEN SEVERAL GREAT BOOKS. HE HAS FAILED AT MANY BUSINESS VENTURES, BUT KEPT TRYING. HE RECOMMENDS READING FOR AN HOUR A DAY AND GETTING LOTS OF SLEEP- GREAT ADVICE. I STILL NEED TO WORK ON THE NOT EATING AFTER 5 PM THOUGH.
3. I am afraid of THOSE I LOVE DYING, I HAVE NEVER FEARED MY OWN DEATH, JUST LOSING THOSE I LOVE. I AM ALSO AFRAID OF MICE, EVEN IF THEY ARE ALREADY DEAD AND SNAKES. AND GETTING SPRAYED BY A SKUNK.
4. I feel empowered ( NOT SURE I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IT MEANS), BUT, WHEN I CAN DO SOMETHING TO HELP CATS, LIKE TRANSPORTING FERALS FOR TNR.I LIKE BEING PART OF THE SOLUTION. WE GOT 2 MORE TODAY, THE LAST KITTEN IS STILL BEING DIFFICULT.

Hangry Phoebe

Hi everyone! Do you get mean when you are hungry? Mom says I get Hangry and beat up poor Prancie, I say she is hangry too-what do you think?

Notice the baseball game on in the background. Dad watches that a lot, I feel bad for Tommy John, it seems like he is always having surgery.

I got to see my Grammie on Wednesday. I love her so very much. I will see her again on Saturday too.

For Sammy’s Poetry Day, featuring the letter J, I have written a poem about Joanie
Joanie is a cat
she is a brat
Sure she is sweet
and very neat
but with food
she is quite rude
if you have a snack
she will give you a smack

I am also joining P.S. Annie’s Throwback Thursday Blog Hop and I want to wish her a Happy Birthday too! throwback

This photo was taken in 2008, sadly I am the only one left of the bunch in this photo. My sisters, KaChoo, Lucy and Stinky have all abandoned me.

Mom asked me to give you the fill-ins for tomorrow, I think she should pay me in treats for doing that. Mom came up with the first 2 and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second 2.

1. When I run out of ___________________, I use ___________________ instead.
2. My guru is _______________.

3. I am afraid of                            .

4. I feel empowered                                 .

Hi everyone! Time for the weekly fill-ins and it is blooper week too. Mom is letting me answer the fill-ins and choose a blooper. I don’t get to see my Grammie today, she is with “the great one”. I love her so very much though.

Phoebe’s Poetry

Hi everyone! It has been a tough week, I haven’t seen my Grammie all week. I love her so very much. My poem will explain why I haven ‘t seen her.

DSCF2097 Apparently Mom is following the advice of the book she recommended the other day- The Joy of Leaving Your Sh*t All Over the Place.

I was so happy yesterday morning. Mom put Brody in a carrier and I thought she was bringing him to a new home, but he just went for his rabies shot. It has been 5 months since he was rescued so he was allowed to get his rabies shot. Mom also retested for FELV/FIV and that was negative. She is still waiting on heartworm results. He got basic blood work too and that was good.

Flat Scouts Maggie and Felix are visiting. They made this for their Mom

Today is my friend, Sammy’s Poetry Day featuring the letter G, mine is titled The Great One ( that is what I call Grammie’s Great grand-daughter) .

Great one, you have been here almost  9 months
and I have only met you once.
My Grammie you have stolen
and that upsets my colon
All you do is drool
I can’t wait ’til your old enough for school
then I can have my Grammie back.

poetrysambadge

And that is why I never get to see my Grammie!!! Phooey!

Mom asked me to give you the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. She came up with the first 2 and our friend, Annie of McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second 2.

1. One quirk I have is ___________________.

2. My favorite comic strip is ________________________.

3. I am really happy                                           .
4. If I could go anywhere on a road trip, I would go to                                .

Friendly Fill-Ins Week 11

Hi everyone! Thank you to everyone who has been participating in the fill-ins and thank you to any newbies too. Remember, if you don’t have a blog, you can still put your answers in the comments.

If when my link doesn’t work, my co-host, Annie of McGuffy’s Reader will have a working one on her blog for you to link up.

1. I wish I could afford to hire someone to _____________________________________.

2. Zucchini ____________________________________________.
3. One Summertime memory I recall is                                          .

4. This Summer,
My answers:
1. I wish I could afford to hire someone to BE MY DRIVER, I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY SO I AM LIMITED TO WHERE I CAN GO UNLESS MY MOM IS WILLING TO DRIVE ( HUBBY DOESN’T LIKE HIGHWAYS EITHER). I WOULD GO TO NYC SEVERAL TIMES A YEAR IF I HAD A DRIVER.
2. Zucchini IS MY FAVORITE VEGETABLE AND I AM LOVING IT FRESH FROM THE GARDEN.  I HAVE MADE STIR FRY, ZUCCHINI QUICHE, ZUCCHINI CASSEROLE ( 2 KINDS) AND I NEVER GET SICK OF IT.
3. One Summertime memory I recall is EATING ESKIMO PIES WITH MY GRANDPA ON MY GRANDPARENT’S FRONT PORCH. HE HAS BEEN GONE SINCE 1984, BUT I STILL THINK OF HIM EVERY TIME I HAVE A KLONDIKE BAR ( Not sure if they still make Eskimo pies).
4. This Summer, I WANT TO DO A LOT OF DECLUTTERING, BUT IT HAS BEEN TOO HOT TO DO ANYTHING.
Have a nice weekend everyone!DSCF1854

Poem Day!

Hi everyone! Grammie was here yesterday and look what she brought for me us. I love her so very, very much. Mom put them away though until we finish our other treats-phooey!

DSCF1912 (2)

Some of you thought it was me in that photo yesterday. I would never pee on Mom ( even though she may deserve it). It was Sammy, he sleeps on Mom’s head so he is very particular about how it smells. And some of you were wondering why Mom’s hair smelled like a dog- excellent question! When she watches “the great one”, she rocks her to sleep in the rocking chair. There was a pillow on the chair that she put behind her head, but she forgot the dog is always sitting there. She washes her hair every other day so it smelled of dog when she went to bed and Sammy didn’t like that. Long story, I bet you are sorry you asked.

Now for our friend Sammy’s poetry day, featuring the letter F. I have written a Haiku.

A water fountain

was sent anonymously

we are most grateful

Yup, someone sent us a stainless water fountain because they say Mom’s comment on another blog about wanting one because she is afraid to break a glass or a ceramic one. My birthday month keeps getting better and better.

We have a new friend over at P.S. Annie so we are joining her Throwback Thursday Blog Hop. Mom didn’t have time to scan an old photo so she went into her Walgreen’s photos and found this cute one of our Angel Stinky from May of 2010. We miss her:

Mom also forced me asked me to give you tomorrow’s Friendly Fill-Ins, she came up with the first 2 and her co-host Annie of McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second 2.

Friendly Fill-Ins Week 8

Hi everyone! Time for Friendly Fill-Ins , if you don’t have a blog you can put your answers in the comments. ellen_cat_badge_2

I came up with the first two statements and my friend, Annie of McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second two.

Friendly Fill-In Statements: Week 8

1. I never thought I would miss _______________________________, but I do.

2. Every 4th of July ______________________________________.

3. If I knew ______________, I would __________________.

4. I have trouble ___________________________.
My answers are in bold
1. I never thought I would miss soccer games, dance recitals, carting my niece around to all her activities and getting up early to bring her to school, but I do. ( OK, I don’t really miss the soccer games).
2. Every 4th of July I do my best to avoid parties because they are all outside and I hate bugs and don’t like using bug spray.
3. If I knew I was not going to use my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education/Psychology, I would have gotten a degree in writing or theater.
4. I have trouble cutting coupons, I always seem to chop off the code- I blame my left- handedness on this.
We hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July!

Friendly Fill-Ins Week 7

Hi everyone! Time for Friendly Fill-Ins, if you don't have a blog you can put your answers in the comment section.

Here are this week's fill-ins, I came up with the first two and Annie of McGuffy's Reader came up with the second two.

WEEK 7: June 24, 2016...
1. My feelings get hurt when ________________________________.
2. I am excited about ______________________________________.
3. _____ first, then _____.
4. One time, I _____, that's why _____.
My Answers:
1. My feelings get hurt when I send a friend request to someone I know on Facebook and they don't accept or when someone unfriends me- I guess I would be happier without Facebook.
2. I am excited about the Independence Day sequel coming out this weekend, although we won't go to see it until next week, it would be too crowded on a weekend. Every year, my hubby and I watch the original at some point over the 4th of July weekend.
3. Look first, then step- a good rule in this house where the chance of stepping in cat vomit is an almost daily occurrence.
4. One time,I was an extra on the TV show 30 Rock, that's why I never want to be an extra again- they are treated like dirt and work 12 hour days for peanuts. I was lucky to be visible when it aired because many times scenes get cut. Of course, if it were a Nic Cage film, I would love to be an extra for free- I will even wash the floors with a toothbrush, but only for Nic.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Hi everyone! It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? DSCF1632  We just finished reading the 50 beautiful poems in Weeds by McGuffy Ann Morris of McGuffy’s Reader. I  have always avoided poetry because I never understood it in school, but during the A-Z Challenge, she had a poem for A-Z, many that she had written. I actually understood them and could relate to them so I decided to purchase Weeds. I am glad I did because I enjoyed all 50 poems, my favorites being “Willow”, “Requiem” and “Heart” .

I bought mine through Amazon , it is only $2.99 for the Kindle version. Here is the link.

I am also pleased that Sammy of One Spoiled Cat is going to be writing a poem for us every Thursday. We can also add our own poems in the comment section, Phoebe is working on one for her Grammie ( you know she loves her so very much).

We are joining the Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? Hop and Comedy Plus’ Awwww……..Mondays Hop too.
