It has been chilly lately so Joanie has on her sweater
and Millie does too. I put one on Emmy and she went into the closet, made some noises then came over to me to show me she got it off. 🙂

Happy New Year!

Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy New Year!! We are joining McGuffy’s Reader’s Sparks and Comedy Plus’ Awwww…..Mondays.

Our Spark for today is to remind everyone that we are all starting with a clean slate today so go for your dreams and take steps to make them happen- starting today.

And Brody wants to say thank you to all who donated to Toby’s dental. If you missed yesterday’s post about it, please check it out.And thank you to all who are purring and praying that it goes well.

There is a Santa Claus

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww…Mondays and McGuffy’s Reader’s Sparks today.

Our Spark is a quote from Francis P. Church

“Yes, VIRGINIA, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus. It would be as dreary as if there were no VIRGINIAS”

We believe in Santa, even if he does smell a lot like Daddy.

Sparks

Hi everyone! We are joining McGuffy’s Reader’s Sparks and Comedy Plus’ Awww…. Mondays Blog Hops.

For my Sparks this month, I have been writing about nice things to do for those that might be forgotten at the holidays. This week, I will remind you to remember those closest to you. Sometimes, they are not given all the love they deserve. I know when we are having a party, I get tense with preparations and my poor hubby has to bear the brunt of my moods. This year, I am going to try very hard not to be grumpy toward him.

Millie really loves his Dad.

One more thing for my Spark, a fun Christmas song, one of my favorites.

Sparks

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww…Mondays and McGuffy’s Reader’s Sparks blog hop. I haven’t had a chance to do much reading with decorating , shopping and working on Christmas cards so I am skipping the reading hop.

I have a double spark this week. I have been recommending forgotten people to remember this holiday season. This week, I am suggesting the staff at the vet clinic. Most of you probably don’t spend as much time at the vet as I do, I usually get there at least once a week- not a good thing, The receptionists are always so sweet and the vet techs too. I will be there this week with Sammy for his dental and Polar Bear for his thyroid blood work. When I go, I plan to bring a treat for them , probably peanut butter fudge that I will make. I know most receptionists get minimum wage or not much more so I like to acknowledge their hard work. Is there a place you frequent that you could bring a treat to?

My other spark was of all things, on my McDonald’s coffee cup. They have nice festive cups, mine said ” Give the gift of kindness and hope it gets regifted.”  I thought that was such a great idea. I never thought of wanting something to be regifted, but kindness should be.

Don’t forget to comment on Sunday’s post for a chance to win Prancie’s Grumpy giveaway.

Sparks!

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww…Mondays and McGuffy’s Reader’s Sparks Blog Hops today, but first, a word from Joanie.

I has been duped! Those were not gremlins, they was Furby’s. I still want gremlin to train.

Our Spark for today is not a quote. From now until Christmas we will be giving ideas to make people happy this holiday season.I think that counts as a spark.

I put a basket of goodies outside on the steps with a note for all Fedex, UPS and USPS to help themselves. I put out bottled water, chocolate, apples and some packages with crackers and cookies. I am sure anything you choose will be appreciated by these hard workers and will brighten their day.

We will get back to reviewing books next Monday. And Penny will be here tomorrow with one of her tips.

Today is 7 years since my KaChoo left for the bridge. This was taken at Tufts a few days before she passed. I miss her every day.

It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

Hi everyone! Sorry , but Joanie will not be doing a book review. She has some trouble with her “gremlins”.

  Help!! They iz multiplying.

We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awwww….Mondays, McGuffy’s Reader’s Sparks and Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

Emmy is posing with A Bump in the Road by Roby Sweet. I am sure most of you are familiar with her Miss. Cuddlywump’s Investigates series, but I am a little late to the party. I have been following her blog, The Cuddlywumps Cat Chronicles for a long time.

A Bump in the Road is the first in a series of five mysteries. I really enjoyed this book and didn’t want it to end so I am thrilled there are four more to read and Christmas is coming ( hint, hint Mom). Miss Cuddlywumps is a beautiful and very intelligent calico cat that is adopted by a 40-something year old single woman named Rory.

Miss Cuddlywumps happens to witness a murder in Rory’s front yard. She attempts to investigate it herself, but is caught every time she sneaks out. I am in love with Miss Cuddlywumps and enjoyed reading her efforts to help solve the murder.

And here is my Spark for the week. “A minute of thought is worth more than an hour of talk.” from the book , How Would Buddha Think by Barbara Ann Kipfer.

Awww…Monday

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and McGuffy’s Reader’s SPARKS. I am skipping the reading hop for this week because I haven’t had a chance to read much.

Joanie has a DVD review today.

I watched this scary movie because my mom is in it. Victimized, iz too scary for me and no cats in it, but mom said I have to recommend it. You can buy it on Amazon or watch it with Amazon Prime

I looked on Pinterest for today’s SPARK and chose this:

“When it rains, look for the rainbow. When it’s dark, look for the stars.”

There is something good to be found in every situation, although sometimes we need to look hard to find it.

Hubby and I got to see 11 meteors Friday night, that was fun. Did anyone else watch for them?

PS: Some of you misunderstood our post yesterday. Feline Opines is not ending, just the Blogger Showcase hop that was twice a month. We are glad they will still be there.

Another Hopping Monday

Hi everyone! We are joining three hops today, but first I would like to ask for purrs and prayers for our friend Astrid of Four-Legged Furballs. She had surgery on what was thought to be a benign tumor, but now needs more surgery because it is a malignancy. Her mom is very worried so please pray for her too.

First off is Joanie’s review:

I haz no time for review this week. Halloween only 2 weeks away and I needz costume.

Sammy and I thank Grammie for late birthday gifts.

The book I am going to review ties in with my “Spark” for this week.

Einstein and the Rabbi: Searching for the Soul by Naomi Levy is an amazing book. The author was inspired by a letter that Einstein wrote to a man who had lost his son.She searches for the man and many others whose lives he had touched. Her search is only part of the book though, she also offers ways we can connect with our soul. One way is through meditation, she recommends just meditating on the word “husa”. I was not familiar with the term before reading this book. It means an artists love for his ( or her) creation even if it is flawed. Much like we are all flawed, but God still loves us. By meditating on this we will become more forgiving and soften our judgement of others and ourselves.

So my spark for the week is simply, husa.

I am joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays, Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading? And Sparks by McGuffy’s Reader. Sparks is a new hop, this is week two. The goal is to make the world brighter by each posting a positive quote or photo.

Friendly Fill-Ins Week 75

Hi everyone! Time for The Friendly Fill-Ins. Make sure you add your link at McGuffy’s Reader, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate.

1. Keep calm and ____________________.
2. _______________ disappoints me.
3.                           is my                            .

4. In retrospect,                                   .

My answers:

  1. Keep calm and hug your cat *

2. Nic Cage’s choice of movies to act in disappoints me. I was so excited to have a new DVD from the library last Saturday called Arsenal, but we only watched 10 minutes of it because it was so violent ( and I like mob movies so I am not squeamish).

3.Rescuing cats is my calling in life.

4.In retrospect, I should have majored in something other than Elementary Education in college like English /Writing.

I am also joining Feline Friday being hosted by Comedy Plus.
