Treat Tuesday

Hi everyone! Today we want to tell you about two kinds of treats we recently won.

First off, we won Blue Buffalo Kitty Cravings Chicken Crunchy Cat Treats from Three Chatty Cats. Being that KaTwo will only eat this kind of treat, I let her keep the entire bag ( don’t tell Phoebe).

We also won some Pet Naturals of Vermont Calming Treats from Sweet Purrfections.

They are supposed to help calm an anxious pet during thunderstorms, fireworks or any other stressful event. Joanie didn’t need calming, but she wanted to try one. I also let Sammy, Millie and Penny try them too. They must taste great because they gobbled them up. They did seem calm, but there was nothing stressful happening at the time. I put the rest away to try during the next thunderstorm. It only takes one treat to help, but up to 3 can be given.

Thank you Three Chatty Cats and Sweet Purrfections! Also thanks to Chewy who sponsored both giveaways.

We also want to thank the blog, KittyClism that gave us a Blogger Recognition Award.

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog
  • Write a post to show your award
  • Give a brief story of how your blog started
  • Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers
  • Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to
  • Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.

I started blogging because I love cats and wanted to share what I have learned about them over the years in the hope of helping other cats. It has now become a big part of my life and I am blessed with the friendship and support of a wonderful group of cat lovers.

Two pieces of advice to new bloggers- comment on other blogs and join Facebook groups for cat lovers( or whatever your blog is about) where you can share your posts.

I can’t pick just 15- if you are reading this then your blog deserves this award too.

We will be having a giveaway tomorrow so please stop by.

It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

Hi everyone! Thank you all for the birthday wishes yesterday, I am thankful for all of you.

We are joining Book Date’s It’ Monday! What Are YOU Reading? and Comedy Plus’ Awwww… Mondays blog hops.

Joanie enjoyed her week off and is ready to review Brian Tracy’s Eat That Frog!

How am I supposed to eat frog when this book don’t tell me how to catch it or cook it? I don’t recommend it.

Sorry Joanie, I thought it was pretty good. It tells how to stop procrastinating and start making goals. It is common sense, but so few actually do it, myself included.

I always use my Barnes and Noble Mastercard at the vet so I ended up earning a Barnes and Noble gift card. I got myself a birthday gift with it- Rescued Volume 2. I loved the first one and so far , I am loving this one too. I have only had time to read the first few stories, but they were all heartwarming. One is by Allie of A Tonk’s Tail, she had a very sad start in life, but I am glad she ended up with a loving forever home.

It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

Hi everyone! We are joining Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading? and Comedy Plus’ Awwww……Mondays blog hops.

I am currently reading two memoirs both written by actors, but so different.

This is Just My Face: Try Not to Stare by Gabourey Sidibe is an interesting book. At age 34, I would think she wouldn’t have enough of a story to write, but she does. If you are not familiar with her, she became an overnight success for her role as Precious in 2009 and has worked steadily ever since. Some of her language is crude, but she seems like a nice person who takes care of her Mom ( including paying her rent).

I just finished Are You Anybody? by Jeffrey Tambor and I enjoyed this one more. I remember him from the television show, The Ropers (yes, I am old). Funny thing is that I didn’t remember him from anything else until I started reading this and he has been in many great movies. He was also in The Larry Sanders Show and Arrested Development  (I haven’t seen either of those).

In one chapter he writes of how he and his first wife sold their small car so they could have room for their two cats in the car when they moved from NYC to California. I was also impressed that he reads to his four children every day ( he also has an older daughter from his first marriage). There was also an interesting chapter of how Scientology tried to lure him in.

KaTwo hopes she is Awww….worthy. While posing she knocked one of the books into the litter box- fortunately, it was clean litter. I think I will have her pose somewhere else next time.

#Chewy Influencer

Hi everyone. Today is Chewy day, but first we want to offer a moment of silence on the loss of our sweet friend Minko who sadly left his family on Father’s Day. Rest in Peace dear friend.

Here are my three things I am thankful for: I am thankful that the severe storms predicted for Monday were not bad, thankful that we didn’t lose power and thankful that my kitties get to try something from Chewy every month.

*Disclaimer- We were given a bag of Blue Buffalo Kitty Cravings Chicken Crunchy Cat Treats for free in exchange for a fair review. All opinions are our own.

Sorry Mom, I am going to pass- I need to fit in my bikini.

Num Num Ooh, these are so good! Slurp!  Wow! KaTwo never eats treats and she loves these.

They are only 2 calories each, I guess I will try them. Very tasty!

And I can still fit in my bikini.

Here are the ingredients: Deboned Chicken, Chicken Meal, Brown Rice, Barley, Oatmeal, Peas, Chicken Fat, Natural Flavor, Glucono-Delta-Lactone, Potassium Chloride, Citric Acid, Preserved With Mixed Tocopherols, Oil Of Rosemary.

These must be good, all 13 cats like them. I don’t think that has ever happened.

If you want some, they are $2.79 for a 2 oz. bag. Click here.  And don’t forget that Chewy offers free shipping on orders over $49 so why not stock up on all your cats’ favorites.

Ice Cream Cone

Hi everyone! We are finally getting some warm Spring weather, it got up to 74 degrees yesterday. Which made me want some ice cream which is why we have a catnip ice cream cone for the letter I.

KaTwo is checking it out.

We were on Speedy’s Disapproving Bun Day yesterday, not the kitties in bunny ears though, if you want to see what it was click here. Thank you Speedy!

Happy Passover to all our Jewish friends!

The Catburry Bunny Auditions-Part 1

Hi everyone!

Yes, I have bunny ears on and Mom is going to pay for this. I do make a cute bunny though, don’t I? I haven’t seen Grammie since Thursday-phooey! I love her so very much, I hope she visits me tomorrow.

Sammy wants to show some photos of his Delorean he made for the Cat Scouts Cardwood Derby. He wasn’t able to get the photos up on the Scouts website so this is a first look. He wanted a rust vest to look like Michael J Fox, but Mom is apparently a little color blind- MOL!

A Gesture for Wordless Wednesday

Not sure what kind of gesture this was when I tried to photograph KaTwo in Mardi Gras beads.

We are joining A Tonk’s Tail #PMT photohunt.

and Comedy Plus’ Wordless Wednesday

And Blog Paws’ Wordless Wednesday

Thankful Thursday and More

Hi everyone! I got to see my Grammie Wednesday- I love her so very much. And she brought me treats and said that I don’t have to share.

I am so thankful for my Grammie that I am joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am also thankful that a foster home from a shelter was available for me when I needed it so I am going to participate in a cool fundraiser that I read about on The Pet Blog Lady. A 18 year old dog named Morgan was in need of a home so the foster family is going to keep him. He turns 19 in March so they are asking everyone to send him a card and possibly a dollar for the shelter. I am giving one of my very own dollars and Mom and Grammie are too. For all the information, click on the link above.

And now for my poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day, featuring the letter K.

KaChoo
Mom’s first cat you were
you taught her to treasure every purr.
You were from a litter of six
3 orange, 2 tabby , 1 gray-quite a mix.
You preferred blue to pink,
your tail had a kink.
You were with her for 16 years
for you, Mom still sheds tears.
I am glad I got to know you too,
my sweet sister KaChoo.

KaChoo was a sweet sister, not to be confused with KaTwo-not so sweet.

POETRYSAM

Mom is joining Wandering Through the Shelves Movie Picks again. This week is the TMP Television edition: Super powers/superheroes.

  1. Grimm: Excellent show that is sadly ending after 6 seasons. Grimm is a homicide detective that can see the creatures hidden inside of normal looking people.
  2. Pushing Daisies ( 2007-2009): A quirky show that only had 22 episodes. Ned, has the ability to touch anything ( person, fruit, etc) dead and bring it back to life-but, if he touches it again it is dead forever.
  3. The Flash: Currently on the CW, I chose it because my hubby watches it so I do to once in a while plus we call Joanie, The Flash because she comes running from anywhere when she hears treats being dispensed.

Thursday Movie Picks

One more thing….The Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first 2 and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second 2.

1. I wish _____________________________ would come back in style.

2. I always have _____________________ in my purse ( or wallet for men).

3. I think that I                            .

4.                                     is a pet peeve of mine.

PS: Penny still hasn’t peed in her box- did one of you tell her about the contest?

It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays Blog Hop and Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading? Blog Hop.

I haven’t gotten any new books in at the library this week so I had to resort to my emergency pile. I have about 40 books set aside from book sales that I tap into in these situations.

P.J. My Friend by Noel B. Gerson was written in 1969. The author tells of how he bought his daughter a tabby kitten to keep her company when she was 5 years old. They truly bonded and were together until he passed while she was in college. The only parts that made me cringe were when she gave him milk and people food. We know now that most cats are lactose intolerance, but back then no one thought of those things. Amazon has some copies for a penny plus shipping.

Joanie is here to wish you a Happy President’s Day!

Selfie Sunday : Bobble Hat Part 2

Hi everyone! Mom bought me a scarf for Valentine’s Day although she said she may borrow it-phooey!

I got to see my Grammie on Saturday, I love her so very much. I wish she would move in with us.

Last week 8 of us wore Parsley’s Time Traveling Bobble Hat so that left 5 more. Mom decided not to have Polar Bear wear it because he has Feline Herpes and is very sneezy and Noel goes crazy when she has to wear anything. So that leaves 3:

Tallulah KaTwo Snowball

The hat is now on it’s way to Timmy Tomcat’s family. Thank you Basil and family for letting us try the hat. We donated 2 pounds to Burton Joyce Cat Welfare.

There is still time to get a turn with the hat and for every family that tries it, Basil and Smoochie donate 2 pounds too.

We are joining The Cat on My Head’s Sunday Selfie Blog Hop.
