Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day

Hi everyone! Today we are skipping the usual Monday blog hops because it is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day started in 2015 by Deborah Barnes of Zee & Zoey.

This is a special day to remember all our furbabies waiting for us at The Rainbow Bridge. They have all left their pawprints on my heart and will never be forgotten.

KaChoo, my first cat ( 1994-2010)-this is her last photo , taken at TUFTS when I was visiting her.

Thankful Thursday and More

Hi everyone! I got to see my Grammie Wednesday- I love her so very much. And she brought me treats and said that I don’t have to share.

I am so thankful for my Grammie that I am joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am also thankful that a foster home from a shelter was available for me when I needed it so I am going to participate in a cool fundraiser that I read about on The Pet Blog Lady. A 18 year old dog named Morgan was in need of a home so the foster family is going to keep him. He turns 19 in March so they are asking everyone to send him a card and possibly a dollar for the shelter. I am giving one of my very own dollars and Mom and Grammie are too. For all the information, click on the link above.

And now for my poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day, featuring the letter K.

KaChoo
Mom’s first cat you were
you taught her to treasure every purr.
You were from a litter of six
3 orange, 2 tabby , 1 gray-quite a mix.
You preferred blue to pink,
your tail had a kink.
You were with her for 16 years
for you, Mom still sheds tears.
I am glad I got to know you too,
my sweet sister KaChoo.

KaChoo was a sweet sister, not to be confused with KaTwo-not so sweet.

Mom is joining Wandering Through the Shelves Movie Picks again. This week is the TMP Television edition: Super powers/superheroes.

  1. Grimm: Excellent show that is sadly ending after 6 seasons. Grimm is a homicide detective that can see the creatures hidden inside of normal looking people.
  2. Pushing Daisies ( 2007-2009): A quirky show that only had 22 episodes. Ned, has the ability to touch anything ( person, fruit, etc) dead and bring it back to life-but, if he touches it again it is dead forever.
  3. The Flash: Currently on the CW, I chose it because my hubby watches it so I do to once in a while plus we call Joanie, The Flash because she comes running from anywhere when she hears treats being dispensed.

Thankful Phoebe

Hi everyone! Look what my Grammie brought me yesterday. I love her so very, very much. I saw her Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday! And I am going to see her today too. I am most thankful for that so I am joining PepiSmartDog’s blog hop.

DSCF2188Thankful Thursday Blog Hop

We figured out why Joanie didn’t want to model her tummy on Tuesday,  she thinks she is a big star now because they showed her tummy on Katzenworld.

I know you all want to know why Mom had photos of cats in traps for Wordless Wednesday. The secretary at the Dr.’s office where Mom gets her shots asked Mom to help her transport ferals to get fixed because the lady is at work for drop off and pick up times. There is a farm nearby that doesn’t take care of their cats ( she called SPCA and they were checked, but because they have some food and water they were considered safe). The lady borrowed 4 traps, on day one only 2 worked and those were the 2 in the photos. There are 2 more babies- Miney and Moe, but only one got captured on day 2. Mom will fill you in as this project continues, they are not being released, hopefully they can get used to people. DSCF2194 (2) This is Miney after surgery, Mom likes the W instead of an M.

We are also joining P.S.Annie’s Throwback Thursday. These kittens remind Mom of KaChoo1KaChoo ( 1994-2010). This is her kitten photo, Grammie kept the gray one and named her Sheba, she lived until 2011.

Throwback Thursday

And last, but definitely not least is my poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day featuring the letter I

Ice
Ice is nice
but I prefer mice.
Ice keeps your drink cold
and your food from getting mold.
It looks a lot like glass
and can make you fall on your *ss

Z is for Zee & Zoey

Hi everyone! Today is the last day of the A-Z Blogging Challenge. We highly recommend The Chronicles of Zee & Zoey by Deborah Barnes. I love the blog Zee and Zoey’s Cat Chronicles and this book is love story of Zee and Zoey and their family. It is so much more than that though. I think it is an inspiration that one can survive anything as long as you have cats to help you through. Phoebe4  I love the photos and design of the book too.

And for Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop,  we are celebrating National Tabby Cat Day- I realize I didn’t do anything to these photos, but tabbies are all works of art. Prancie didn’t want her photo taken so she jumped inside Sammy’s TARDIS.

tabby1 Caturday Arttabby2KaTwo did a little better.

And the reason tabby cats hold a special place in my heart- KaChoo- my first cat (1994-2010)

KaChoo

We were very sad to see another kitty leave this world , Cinco’s family is heartbroken.

Cinco FOREVER

Hopping Saturday

Happy Saturday everyone! Today we start with a parade, even better than Macy’s parade.

Celebrate winter time with the pet parade, where all your favorite pets and animals can be found

LucyinballCaturday Art

I am hoping to put up our tree today so for Athena’s Caturday Art Hop, I went to photofunia and put Lucy on some Christmas balls. I wish I could actually buy some like this.

And for The Lazy Pit Bull’s #52 Snapshots of Life, the theme this week is “thankful”. I am thankful that I had so many years with Lucy and with KaChoo (below). Yesterday was 5 years since my KaChoo went to the Bridge. I am thankful for every kitty I am lucky enough to have share my life.

Phoebe will see you tomorrow.

Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day

Today is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day:RainbowBridgeRemembranceDay [500px]

Hosted by Deborah Barnes : http://zeezoey.com/ A special day to remember all our friends that have gone to the bridge to wait for us there. Over the years, I have lost many rabbits, dogs, cats, guinea pigs, fish and hermit crabs too. I felt a loss over each and every one of them, but one in particular truly broke my heart.

My KaChoo was my first official cat, I adopted her in 1994 when she was a kitten. I used to always tell her she had to give me 20 years, but it wasn’t to be, she went to the Bridge at 16 and a half. We were very bonded and I will always miss her.

KaChoo4

KaChoo’s baby photo-my Mom kept the gray one and named her Sheba.( she survived KaChoo by a year).   KaChoo3

me and KaChoo

My hubby had a cat when we got married and she lived to be 19, her name was Patches, but he always called her Ratchie – I scanned a photo of her, but it is in an Adobe file and as you all know, I am technologically challenged.

We also lost Brina in 2011, she was a 3-legged tortie persian that I adopted from my sister when she was already older.

brina1and our cat-loving dog Katie also went to the bridge that year:

Katey

And beautiful Barney left us is 2013 . I pray we don’t have any more loss for a long time. I don’t know if there is an actual rainbow bridge or not, but I know all these pure souls would go to Heaven.

I am co-hosting the Feeling Beachie’s Follow Friday Fill-In Fun, but I didn’t want to interfere with this special day so I will post my fill-ins tomorrow.

A is For Angel and April Fool

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today is Day 1 of the A-Z Blogging Challenge. You can still join if you want. I am eager to discover some new blogs and hope some discover this one.

Today is A- A can be for Angel and April Fool. My beloved KaChoo was born on April 1, 1994. She was my first kitty and will always have a special place in my heart. Losing her in November 2010 was difficult, but her memory lives on until we meet again. I am sure she is an angel watching over me.

KaChooKaChooaprilMy little April Fool.

Have a nice day everyone, be sure to visit Phoebe tomorrow, she loves company.

KaChoo3

Saturday is Art Day

Happy Saturday everyone! Today we are joining in Athena’s Caturday Blog Hop. I used a photo of my beloved KaChoo who passed away 11-27-2010. I went with pho.to again because I was pressed for time and already knew how to use this one.

I used “funny photos” -pawprints frame to edit it. She left pawprints on my heart and her favorite color was blue. It has been almost 4 years and I still think of her every day. I wish I had been blogging back then. The support of all these kitties lovers who understand the connection we have with our cats would have helped. The day she passed was truly the worst of my life and I have lost loved ones, but for some reason this was so much harder.

Thank you to Athena for hosting the blog hop:

Make sure you come back tomorrow for Phoebe’s first fun contest. Have a great day everyone!

Don’t Forget to Enter the Giveaway

Happy Monday everyone! Phoebe said to thank everyone who read her post yesterday and let you know that she survived Lucy’s wrath.

Looks like my sticky P foiled me again. My mom called me laughing the other day. Apparently I wrote Joanie was having her teeth cleaned and her bum removed on Wednesday. Joanie is not having her bum removed, she is having a bumP removed. If anyone spots any typos, I won’t be offended if you comment on them- I would appreciate it.

I was trying to come up with something for Fun and Games Day and I remembered somethnig my niece made for KaChoo. Sarah made these when she was about 8 years old :007KaChoo enjoyed them for many years and they got put into a decorative jar where I forgot about them. I tried them out on Sammy and Joanie and they love them. It is a stretchy plastic cord with a bow and the other has part of a milk top. I am sure you know this, but just in case, the toy is interactive and should be put away when you’re not playing with your kitty.

Sadly ,KaChoo passed away in 2010, but I am proud to say Sarah got a degree in Animal Science that same year and is now 26 and manager of a veterinarian practice.

Don’t forget to comment if you haven’t already for a chance to win catnip turkey drumsticks. 002
