Three Hops in One

Hi everyone! We have three hops to join today. Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?, Comedy Plus’ Awww…Mondays and McGuffy’s Reader Sparks.

First off is Joanie’s weekly review.

Love with a Chance of Drowning by Torre DeRoche. I not drowning for anyone, I am glad my boyfriend, Simon is land lover like me.

Thank you Joanie. I actually loved this book. I am not sure why because I am not a fan of the ocean, I can’t even stand the smell. For some reason though this memoir pulled me right in. A 25 year old Australian girl spending a year in the USA meets a 30 year old man planning to embark on a journey around the world in his used yacht. When the time comes, they are still together and she joins him. It is quite an adventure with some humorous parts and some dangerous ones too.

I actually bought this at The Dollar Tree, the word memoir on the cover got me.Now that I have enjoyed it, I am going to give it away. If you want to be entered in the giveaway just say so in the comments. Books are heavy though so I can only afford to send it to someone in the USA, sorry.

My Spark for the week is: Kindness is free, sprinkle that stuff everywhere.I saw that quote on Pinterest with no author listed. Emmy made a little twist on it.

Sunday Selfies Tocktober Edition Part 1

Hi everyone! Thanks for welcoming me on Thursday. This writing stuff is pretty tiring.

I am studying up this Wicked book for some tips. I need to get tough, Emmy and Sammy seem to want to stage a coup.

I was told it was Tocktober. I always wondered why mom was so obsessed with taking photos of our bottoms during Grammie’s birthday month.so here are four of our tocks for this week: Mine

Penny

Emmy and Brody

We are joining The Cat on My Head’s Sunday Selfie Blog Hop and The Pet Blogger Showcase, our friends’ Ellie, Momma and BearCat featured Phoebe again. Thank you.

PS: Penny is starting a new monthly  feature on Tuesday.

And tomorrow our friend Annie at McGuffy’s Reader is starting a new hop to help everyone start their week on a positive note. To join, post a quote or photo of something that will “spark” the positive.

Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! Not sure you remember me, I am not on the blog often, but that is about to change. Phoebe chose me as the next leader and one of those duties includes writing. I hope it doesn ‘t cut into my nap time and my torture Daddy time. I love my Daddy the most, he doesn’t even get mad when I knock all the stuff off the table by his chair. I do that about 5 times a day.

We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful for getting to spend almost 13 years as Phoebe’s sister. We used to play fight to get our folks to give out snacks, but we always were friends.

Now, here is my very first poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day, featuring the letter Q.

Queen
Phoebe named me the next Queen
because I am the most serene.
She told Emmy to help me out,
she has more clout
always smacking Joanie and Sam with her paw
she has lots of chutzpah.
I am going to be the poet
I hope I don’t blow it.

Phoebe left me her crown. She said we can all wear her clothes except her yellow polka dot bikini and her harness dress, those are to never be worn by anyone again. She also left us her pole dancing money and said we should buy another water fountain with it because water is so important for our kidneys. We all miss her very, very much.

Phoebe’s Purrince is not doing well, he has some health problems and is not eating so please purr and pray for him.To visit him, click here.

And here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for Friday. Mom came u with the first two and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second two.

How I Spent My Summer Vacation Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Today Blogville is having a How I Spent My Summer Vacation Blog Hop. A few of my kitties wanted to participate so here they are:

I became an adventure cat. I go on 2 walks with my folks every day ( except when it rains). And my Grammie visited me a lot- I love her so very much.

I went to Cat Scouts Summer Camp. I made this hat, climbed the Half Dome and had lots of fun with my Scout friends.

I settled into my forever home.

Tuxie Tuesday

Hi everyone! Time to announce the winner of the giveaway for an IKEA mouse.

I am going to let Emmy announce the winner.

By the way, I haven’t seen Grammie since last Wednesday! I love her so very much, I hope she visits me soon.

And the winner is Teddy of One Spoiled Cat! Congratulations! Your white mouse will go out in the mail today. Everyone else, don’t worry, we will be doing another mouse giveaway soon.

Tuxie Tuesday

Hi everyone! Emmy wanted to say hi today.

Hi!

Now would you look at all these books. Mom is always giving stuff away and decluttering, but she seems to have lost her mind. Her and Dad went to a book sale, it was the last day and all books were free so she came home with 49!!!! Of those, 4 were for Dad, 1 for Grammie ,1 for The Great One

and the rest were all for her. I think I should pee on them, I would be doing her a favor because she would have to get rid of them. This is just too much clutter. And ironically, one of the books is titled, Throw Out Fifty Things. Mom read it and threw away 50 things back in 2012, and continues to declutter, but she clearly has given up.

I hope Grammie visits soon. I love her so very much. She is supposed to be here Wednesday.

And the winner of the Sharknado catnip mat and crocheted fishies is As the World Purrs!

PS: If you have a wordpress blog and don’t see a comment from Mom, please check SPAM. Every once in a while WordPress decided it doesn’t like her and does that. Sorry.

Art and Ten Things of Thankful

Hi everyone! I am joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop and the Ten Things of Thankful Blog Hop.

I realize my art is awful this week, but it is not done yet. I am so eager to tell you about this that I couldn’t wait to finish. I signed up for The Kindness Rocks Project and these are the rocks I am painting. It is such a wonderful idea. You paint rocks with messages and cute pictures, you also write #kindness rocks project on the back and coat them with a clear coating. Then you place them somewhere for someone to find. Imagine having a bad day and looking down to see a rock that says “hope” or “faith”. They want everyone who does this to sign up so there doesn’t end up being a whole pile of rocks in one place, that would take away the fun. If you are interested, click here.

I will show you mine when I complete them.

Now for my thankfuls:

  1. I am thankful for a hubby that drags me outside to appreciate things like this rainbow:

2. For my Mom being willing to cat sit when the hubby and I got somewhere for a few hours. Otherwise, I would be filled with anxiety worrying about them.

3. The cute way my great- niece said couscous when I brought her some for lunch .

4. A new Ikea catalog in the mail.

5. For kind people in the world that come up with idea like The Kindness Rocks project.

6. More blueberries, zucchini and string beans from the garden.

7. Emmy getting on the bed during the night for a little affection ( even if it is about 3 AM) .

8. Figuring out how to start a free blog for Phoebe and her friend Kali, The Crotchety Cougars. Click here to visit

9. For Kali’s Mom doing all the photo editing for the cougars and writing the first post.

10. A nice night to watch for meteors earlier this week. I didn’t see any, but my hubby did before I went out.

Ten Things of Thankful

Hi everyone! Today we are joining Athena’s Caturday Art and Ten Things of Thankful Blog Hops.

I decided to use Be Funky and added a grunge frame to Emmy’s photo. She is a sweet kitty, she is not a lap cat, but she does come near us for affection.

Here are my Ten Things of Thankful

  1. I am thankful for all my birthday wishes on the 23rd, including over 200 of them on Facebook.
  2. Got to go to a book sale with my hubby and then out to our favorite diner for blueberry pancakes.
  3. At the book sale, I scored an Amelia Bedelia book I didn’t have for only 50 cents. My Mom and I collect them and will read them to the great one eventually.
  4. Also scored some books I had never heard of that look interesting. I love going to book sales and finding older books I didn’t know existed.
  5. I attended a healing mass at a local shrine with my Mom and sister.
  6. Got to spend lots of quality time with my cats this week.
  7. Was much cooler this week and less humid.
  8. Homemade pickles I made taste great.
  9. More fresh from the patch blueberries, enough to freeze some.
  10. I am now 48 and have no aches or pains despite needing to lose a lot of weight. I know some people have arthritis and all sorts of pains at my age.

Thankful Caturday

Hi everyone! We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop and The Ten Things of Thankful Blog Hop too.

I added a frame to Emmy’s photo. KaTwo loaned her this hat, she wants to know how she looks?

And for #PMT photohunt @tonkstail “Opposite”

The opposite of on is off- this is one of Phoebe’s bloopers from the 4th of July.

Now for my ten thankfuls

  1. My sister and the great one had an ice cream party for my Mom and I, it was a lot of fun.
  2. We won a great prize package that came this week (we will tell you about it in another post).
  3. I won a book on Goodreads a month ago and it finally came in.
  4. Fresh blueberries which make fantastic muffins.
  5. Spending  Wednesday and Friday with my Mom.
  6. I am thankful my hubby and I are home together almost always ( even if he is out in the garden a lot of the time).
  7. Garden fresh celery ( once you try it grocery store one will not taste right).
  8. Central air conditioning- very necessary lately.
  9. Allergy shots, they seem to be working.
  10. All of you who read these posts.
