We want to give our condolences to our dear friend Kali’s family. She left for the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday. She was co-founder of The Crotchety Cougars with Phoebe. She was a sweet and beautiful girl who will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Emmy is here to announce the winner of her Dr. Seuss Giveaway…and the winner is The Island Cats. Congratulations! We can’t wait to see you in that hat.
Darryl the Feral,
No longer in ‘peril’
You might need to wear some apparel,
Or bob for apples in a barrel…
Your eyes are like beryl;
Loved and owned, now; not feral!
Yes, you are mancat Dapper-Daryl!!
And from Turtlelover
Daryl looks so mad that he could spat
maybe he wants his own Dr Seuss Hat
I’m sure he wants Phoebe to be ok and all that
until then he’ll sit up here like a bat
Daryl the Feral thanks you, he is really happy.
A while ago I donated to a Kickstarter campaign for a comic book about rescue cats with special powers to help other cats in need. The amount I donated included a printed copy and it arrived yesterday. The art work is very nice, here is Joanie admiring it.
Hi everyone! Last week I was offered a free sample of Pet Remedy a natural de-stress and calming spray. I had a choice of a plug-in or a spray , but I worry about plug-ins starting on fire so I went with the spry. We got this for free, but all opinions are our own.
The spray arrived on Monday which was perfect timing. Right after it arrived, I got the call from the people trapping the ferals for me. They had another one and he was not happy. He kept throwing himself against the back of the cage trying to get out. I sprayed this in the backseat of my car ( that is where I had the trap) and he stopped doing that.
The next day, when I brought him to the clinic, I sprayed the car again as well as the towel and he was fine the entire way. Added bonus, the smell of the spray covered his unneutered male odor. Now that he is quarantined, I spray it in his area twice a day to help him feel better.
It is made with valerian root which is known to be a calming agent. If you want to learn more about this or order your own here is the link .
Here is a link to an article about how helpful it is for all types of stress. Click here
I have a question. I know my niece got a rabies vaccine when she started working at a vat clinic many years ago. Today I called my Dr. and asked if I could get one that way when I am dealing with ferals, I won’t have to worry. I was told they cost $5,000 and you need to get that at the ER- most insurance companies don’t cover it. Does anyone have a rabies vaccine?
Don’t forget to comment to enter Phoebe’s Dr. Seuss giveaway. And thank you to Ann of Zoolatry for this adorable graphic:
Happy Thursday everyone! I have so much to tell you this week. First off, I got to see my Grammie twice this week. I love her so very much. She watched us while Mom and Dad went somewhere on Tuesday and I saw her yesterday when she came to get Mom for the movies.
Joanie in her 50 Shades Halloween costume ( there are really 50 paint chips)
I am a little confused, they went to see Fifty Shades of Grey and when Mom was leaving, Dad said, “don’t get any weird ideas.” I guess he was afraid she was going to want to decorate with a bunch of shades of grey. I wish she would do some sprucing up, but I prefer pinks and blues. I do wish Dad would finally put up the wallpaper in the kitchen than Mom bought 3 years ago.
In other news, my sweet Purrince gave me an Emerald necklace as a symbol of his love and to match my pretty green eyes. I am so thankful that I found such a cutie that appreciates my beauty.
Make sure you visit me on Sunday, I am having a special giveaway to celebrate Dr. Seuss day on Monday. I figured we should go all out being that Dr. Seuss was born right here in Massachusetts. Here is a hint at part of the giveaway- Mom bought this today :See you Sunday!!
We are hopping:
