We are joining McGuffy’s Reader’s Sparks (even though she is on hiatus), Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading? I am skipping the Mewsic hop again this week. My post gets too long when I do the reading and mewsic hops together so when I have good books to tell you about I will skip the mewsic.
I have never seen the television show This is Us, but I enjoyed This Is Me: Loving the Person You Are Today by Chrissy Metz. As many of you know, she is one of the stars of the show. She did not have the best childhood, but she certainly has gotten past that. I am amazed at what a kind person she is despite her past. I could relate to her weight struggles too.
I usually don’t read fiction, but I was pulled in by the cover of Talk to the Paw by Melinda Metz. I was pleasantly surprised, it is a fun romance. And the cat is the main character, he works hard to bring people together even if it requires some cat burglary on his part.
My Spark for today is to tell you about a blog that started this year, The Gateway to Enlightenment, always has positive quotes and stuff to brighten your day.
Here is my awww…Mondays photo. Pardon the clutter, how many of my black cats do you see in this photo?
Look at this adorable face and such big eyes. This is our guest, sequestered to a bathroom, but I already want to keep her.
Saturday morning I got a call from my Dr.’s office, it was the secretary that I had worked with in 2016 to TNR several cats. Last week , when I got my allergy shot, she told me she had more in need so I agreed to transport again. The shelter deals with ferals Tuesday- Thursday mornings, no appointment needed. Well, a male was attempting to mount this little one so she ran outside and was able to grab her. I am sure she was a drop off and not truly feral. She is so sweet and makes muffins when I pet her. Her cats were all upset and she didn’t have a place to keep her other than the garage and it is still chilly at night so of course I agreed.
I have named her Trouble because she is going to cause me lots of it with my husband. There was also a character on the tv show Grimm named Trouble, although it was spelled differently. I am hoping to someday have a Siamese and a cow kitty, but I will willingly accept any kitty God sends my way and he seems to send me a lot of black ones.
We are joining The Cat on My Head’s Sunday Selfie Blog Hop and Rascal and Rocco’s Pet Parade.
Happy Thursday everyone! Does my tail look twisted? Dad said my tail was in a twist because he squirted me with water. Prancie and I were playing and he said I was beating her up so he squirted me with a water bottle to break us up. He didn’t squirt his princess Prancie, just poor me. I could have gotten pneumonia or something. I can’t wait til my Grammie watches us, she would never spray me. I love her so very much.
I am having a giveaway for St. Patrick’s Day! Just comment between now and Saturday to be entered. You can comment daily for more chances to win. The prize is one of the crinkle kickers Mom made and 2 green crocheted balls. I would like to include this stupid hat too, but Mom said no- phooey!
Snowball has been pestering me again so I found a new hiding spot behind the chair in the bedroom- shhh! please don’t tell her:
PS: I may have been a little aggressive with Prancie 🙂 A girl needs to have some fun. See you Sunday! Tomorrow we have a guest post by Sammy’s friend, Maggie.
And now a word from our Spooky: As you know black cats have less of a chance of being adopted so please watch and spread the word of this great video that helps promote us, it debuts Friday the 13th so be sure to subscribe to Catastrophe’s videos on youtube:
Happy Saturday everyone! Today is Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop. Being that we just celebrated black cats, I thought I would make a collage of my 4 black cats:
I am having another giveaway:
I am going to give away 3 sets, one a week. The sets include 2 turkey catnip turkey legs for Thanksgiving( one is well done, the other is raw 🙂 ) and a wishbone with a little story that can be used as a Thanksgiving decoration and then hung on your Christmas tree. To be entered, all you have to do is comment. I will announce a winner Wednesday. Thanks for reading this blog, I truly appreciate everyone that does.
Make sure you turn your clocks back if you live in the USA. I am looking forward to that extra hour, but I know it won’t fool the kitties- they will be bugging us for breakfast at the usual time.
We are participating in Athena’s Caturday Blog Hop.
Happy Wednesday everyone! My throw rugs didn’t last long, as most of you know, I washed them last week and put them back out. My hubby and I had bets on how long it would be until the kitties struck. Lucy struck the red hall one yesterday ( pee) and Millie got the kitchen one ( corn husk vomit). Only one left in the bedroom- anyone want to bet how long that will last?
Today is ROAR day and in keeping with the Dr. Who theme of the week I have chosen a charity from the UK called Cat Chat to donate to. It is like Petfinder, but just for cats. Their mission is to get cats out of shelters and into homes. Here is their link: http://www.catchat.org/donate.html.
One time someone told me that white cats are considered bad luck in the UK and black ones are good luck. I would love to hear from readers that live there to know if this is true. I have 4 black ones and 3 white ones. I am fairly superstitious and asked my hubby for another white one to even it off, but he wouldn’t go for it.
Have a great day everyone and be sure to comment if you didn’t yesterday for a chance to win this crocheted catnip Tardis :
Happy Sunday everyone! I am actually looking forward to Monday as I have been cat sitting for 4 days and I am a little tired. I love cats, but dealing with my own 15 is a full time job. Plus my niece lives on the 3rd floor and I am quite lazy. Today is every cat has a story day, but first-a contest: Lucy wants to remind everyone to wear a helmet when they bicycle. The first person to comment with the correct answer as to what store the helmet is from will win an ice cream cone ( catnip flavored). This is Snowball with hers, my mom is making some new ones :
Today I will tell you Jinx’s story, he was still young when I got him so I think he was born in early 2002. I used to be a home tutor for the public school and he was hanging around at a student’s home. The parents had no plans to keep him so I took him in. Jinx is very sweet to us and other people, but he hates cats. He goes right for the neck every time. We have tried over the years to reintroduce him to some of the other cats, but he always ends up attacking. When we had a dog and rabbits, he was fine with them, but for some reason he really hates all cats. It is a challenge to keep him segregated, but I would never part with him- Once I accept a cat ( or any living creature) into our home, it is forever- my niece is lucky she was able to move when she grew up and even luckier she got her cat out with her 🙂 By the way, I named him after Jinxy cat in Meet the Parents ( I love that movie). This is Jinx last year when I was experimenting to see if black cats are bad luck by having him wear a Red Sox cap ( they are not bad luck 🙂 ).
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and please check for another contest this week. Thanks for reading.
