Friendly Fill-ins Week 84

Hi everyone! Thank you for the good thoughts and prayers for Sammy and Polar Bear yesterday. Sammy ended up with one tooth being extracted. And Polar Bear was so “feisty” that we have to go back for his blood work, he needs a mild sedative.

Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins, be sure to add your link at McGuffy’s Reader. Thank you to all who participate.

2. I am tired, I had to get up early to drop Sammy off at the vet. I am not a morning person.
3. One holiday memory that I cherish is , actually I have no one memory that sticks out. I just cherish all the times I have been with my family as a child and as a married woman.
4. I always thought that Santa existed until I was about 8 years old.
We are also joining Feline Friday, currently hosted by Comedy Plus.
Joanie looked so cute on my lap the other day with her paws crossed over her eyes.

Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! I am joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful I am not the one going to the vet today. Sammy is getting a dental and Polar Bear is getting blood work for his thyroid.

I have a poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day. This week was a toughie, we had to come up with a poem to go with this photo.

Santa needs some help
foggy weather has arrived
Rudolph’s time to shine

That’s the best I could do.

And the winner of the Grumpy Giveaway is Martha from Plowing Through Life, she also has another funny blog Miniaturopolis. You should check them both out.

Her are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first two and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second two.

Sparks

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww…Mondays and McGuffy’s Reader’s Sparks blog hop. I haven’t had a chance to do much reading with decorating , shopping and working on Christmas cards so I am skipping the reading hop.

I have a double spark this week. I have been recommending forgotten people to remember this holiday season. This week, I am suggesting the staff at the vet clinic. Most of you probably don’t spend as much time at the vet as I do, I usually get there at least once a week- not a good thing, The receptionists are always so sweet and the vet techs too. I will be there this week with Sammy for his dental and Polar Bear for his thyroid blood work. When I go, I plan to bring a treat for them , probably peanut butter fudge that I will make. I know most receptionists get minimum wage or not much more so I like to acknowledge their hard work. Is there a place you frequent that you could bring a treat to?

My other spark was of all things, on my McDonald’s coffee cup. They have nice festive cups, mine said ” Give the gift of kindness and hope it gets regifted.”  I thought that was such a great idea. I never thought of wanting something to be regifted, but kindness should be.

Don’t forget to comment on Sunday’s post for a chance to win Prancie’s Grumpy giveaway.

Hi everyone! Today we have 4 more letters to Santa. First, I want to tell you about my Grumpy giveaway. You can win a Grumpy Cat book, a stuffed Grumpy Cat wearing a Santa hat and 5 Grumpy notecards. And now on to our letters.

Love, Sammy”Penny wrote, ” I would like a new box, maybe put a plastic liner in it because I know I will pee in it. Love, Penny XOXO”KaTwo wrote: ” I want one of those fidget spinners like kids get. XO KaTwo”

The Twelve Cats of Christmas

Hi everyone! We are joining Athena’s Caturday Art Blog Hop and Ten Things of Thankful.

Our art today is our Christmas card with all 12 of the kitties. Please feel free to take the card. I plan to email it and also mail them to those that signed up for the exchange. If you need cards, I highly recommend groupon. I got mine made at Staples for only $8 for a set of 25 purchased through groupon. ( I am not being compensated, I just like to share bargains).

Here are my thankfuls-

  1. Thankful to live in an area where we get a lot of snow and cold weather- even though the snow is messing up my plans to go to Emily Dickinson’s birthday party at her museum.
  2. Emmy continues to sit on my lap, when Joanie isn’t hogging it.
  3. For my ornament/decoration collection that I have acquired over my lifetime ( I will be showing some next Saturday).
  4. Coffee with a friend.
  5. Shopping with my mom.
  6. A hubby that puts the outside lights on the house and in the yard.
  7. Being able to give my great-niece a cookie and then getting to leave- I must admit I thought it was funny to see her jumping up and down on the couch ( a sugar high) when I was leaving.
  8. Groupon ( see above).
  9. A package from a dear friend that arrived this week.
  10. Coffee- the best beverage 🙂

Be sure to come back tomorrow for Prancie’s Grumpy Giveaway!

1. The best part of last week was _______________________.

2. The worst part of last week was ____________________.
3.                               is a Winter project that I will be working on.

4. A holiday gift that I always buy for someone is                           .

My Answers:
1. The best part of last week was Sammy’s heartworm antigen test being negative
( although, I pan to get another one in a few months and an x-ray just in case a heartworm survives to adulthood).
2. The worst part of last week was worrying about Sammy.
3. Decluttering is a Winter project that I will be working on. I know I always write about decluttering and I start, but then life gets in the way. My husband is not very cooperative in this area either.
4. A holiday gift that I always buy for someone is a Fontanini nativity piece for my husband’s sister. We have been adding to her collection for 25 years, I had no idea there were that many people in Bethlehem.
  Emmy in her Christmas dress.

Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone!   I am joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. I am thankful that I only had to wear this elf costume for 2 minutes.

Here is my Poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day featuring the letter Z.

ZOO
I feel like I live in a zoo
if you lived here, you’d feel that way too.
There is Joanie the monkey
Piggy Brody is chunky.
Emmy looks like a skunk
Sammy thinks he is a hunk
We even have a Polar Bear
Ugh! I think I need some fresh air.

On Sunday I am having a Grumpy Giveaway so be sure to check it out.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for Friday. Mom came up with the first two and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader came up with the second two.

Sparks and a Review from Joanie

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww…. Mondays and McGuffy’s Reader’s Sparks blog hops.

Joanie finally had time to do some reading not that the furbies are hibernating.

Henry the Christmas Cat by Mary Calhoun is a children’s picture book about a Siamese cat named Henry. He follows his family to church where the kid is in a Christmas pageant and he ends up rescuing the sheep. It was cute story and there are many other books about his adventures.

And for my Spark, I am continuing with ideas to spread joy this holiday season. This may seem like an odd one, but you should give a tip or a gift to your garbage man. We give ours a Dunkin Donuts gift card and a bottle of the hubby’s homemade wine. I know this is a tough time of year for many , but it is the thought that counts. If you can’t afford to give  tip or gift, you could make cookies or candy. I am sure they appreciate being though of. I know my delivery people are enjoying our snacks, especially the ones that work late.
