It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading? Blog Hops today.

Joanie still has a little boo-boo, but she still wanted to write a book review.

How to Be Here is the title- Where the heck else would I be? Why I need a book to tell me that?

Thank you Joanie. I actually like this book because unlike cats, us humans sometimes can be in a place yet our mind is somewhere else. This book is filled with short chapters to guide us on our own path and stop comparing ourselves to others.

I am also reading Ernest Hemingway: A Biography by Mary V. Dearborn. I know he was a cat lover so I thought it would be interesting. I haven’t gotten to his love of cats yet though.

Be sure to comment on Sunday’s post for a chance to win an IKEA mouse.

  1. We think your review was fantastic, Joanie. And we’re purring and praying for you and your boo boo! Really, though, I should read this book, as my head is often somewhere different than my body. Purrs!

  2. I enjoy book reviews. Sometimes you discover something new to read! I’m just wrapping up The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion. It was so much fun to read! And as soon as I shut that book, I’ll be opening up A Dog’s Journey by W. Bruce Cameron; my third novel by this writer.

  3. I had to fortune to visit the writer’s home in Key West. I bought a print featuring some of the cats still living there. I just enjoyed a four book series by Jet Mykles collectively called “Indigo Knights”. Hot stuff. Happy Reading!

  4. I’m reading Walking on My Grave by Carolyn Hart.

Annie’s friend and fellow shop owner Ves Roundtree is a very wealthy woman. Her rich brother entrusted her with his estate, and upon her death, his fortune is to be divided. Several cash-strapped islanders are in line to collect life-changing inheritances.

Awww on all the kitties. Your babies are ever so precious.

Have a purrfect Awww Monday. My best to your mom. ☺

  5. How to Be Here sounds like a worthwhile read. As someone who is “in my head” a lot, being present or here in the moment can sometimes be a struggle.

I hope the biography of Hemingway’s does include mention of his love for cats for your sake. πŸ™‚ It seems like it should.

  6. Mom isn’t reading too much currently when she isn’t working on my blog she is crocheting, her bestie’s son and his wife are gonna have a baby girl in Feb so mom is madly working on an afghan.
    Hugs madi your bfff

  7. Phoebe looks so cute with her pile of mouselings!

BTW, I’m reading the theology classic, The Doctrine of Human Depravity, by Arthur W. Pink (but I don’t want to win anything).
    Cheers! ^-.-^

  8. Papa Hemmingway as an interesting person, probably more interesting to know about than to know, at some times and in some of his moods.

Lauren, that is a deep book, i haven’t studied any of Pink since my twenties.

  9. I have not heard of that book…but Joanie sure made a good point. I hope her ouchies are doing good.

I’ve read some of Hemingway’s books…and some oarts of them remain n my head…where I do not want them to be, MOL!

When I was checking out kitties in nearby shelters a lot of them referred to their polydactyls as Hemingway kitties! What a way to promote them…

    • Joanie gets her stitches out next week, but she is fine. I have never read Hemingway, but wanted to learn about him being that he was a cat lover. I read somewhere all polydactyls are from his originally, but I can’t believe that.

  10. Ellen,

Joanie has a good point but I certainly know what you mean which I can relate to on many levels. I think that’s the main reason I have trouble reading a novel. My mind just doesn’t want to stay on the pages before it drifts off elsewhere. It really needs to be retrained but I don’t have the patience to do that and just want to do what I want to do, you know? πŸ™‚ Have a good day and thanks for stopping by for a dance!

  11. Mom could really use that book. Her head is always some place other than where she is. She has a really hard time staying in the moment. We are putting it on her must read list. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
