L is for Lola

Hi everyone! I have a lot to tell you about today. The first thing is the letter L for the A-Z Blogging Challenge. We already recommended Lola’s book back in January. We love Lola’s blog too! DSCF1073 Lola :The Diary of A Rescued Cat by Lola and Dawn White is exactly what the title says, it is Lola’s diary from being abandoned in a dumpster to being loved in a forever home. The end of the book is filled with more rescue stories too.

And speaking of books, our friend Hilary from Feeling Beachie is offering her book, Plan Bea for free as a download from today until the 18th so hurry over to Amazon for your free copy. Mom loved this book, click here to read her review.

My sleepover with Grammie was nice. I love her so very, very much. I hope she stays over again sometime soon.

I am trying to stay positive, but Spooky is not doing well. He hasn’t been eating much and we were hoping his new medicine will kick in soon and bring back his appetite. He also had an appetite stimulant and that hasn’t helped much. All purrs and prayers are appreciated.

I am starting my Passover giveaway today and I can only open it to U.S. residents because it was just brought to our attention ( thanks CK ) that there are special rules for all countries and we don’t know them so we are playing it safe. I am very sorry about that.

DSCF1065The winner will receive a catnip mat, kippa, and 3 crocheted toys: a fish, a matzah ball and an orange.

To enter, leave a comment today through Saturday. I will announce the winner Sunday and have Mom mail it out to you Monday so you will have it in time for Passover ( begins the 22nd).

One more thing- Mom is going to post that mackerel smackerel recipe soon. I hope she tests it out on us.

  1. L is for LOVE and prayers for Mr. Spooky. He reminds me of our Wilbur, who passed in 2007. He had been abandoned as a kitten by neighbors. They left him and his sister (BK). He was elusive for many years, unable to be caught. His sister was caught by the foxes. Wilbur lived outside about 10 years, before he got sick and allowed me to catch him. He lived with us for another 7 years. We are very fond of Spooky (love that name). Have you tried feeding baby food with a syringe? Have you tried clams? I wish we lived closer, so I could help! XO

    • I wish you lived closer to. I tried baby food, but not with a syringe. I never thought of clams- thank you. He did eat a little more today and I am doing pepcid every 12 hours instead of every 24. Thank you for everything. Wilbur sounds like a good kitty, I am sure you miss him. XO

  2. Hope Spooky gets better soon.
Thank you for the Plan Bea review. I’m intrigued. Hope I can hop over to Amazon in time.
Lola sounds like a really good book to read to children.

  3. Lola, so good to see you. We sure would like to win those toys. They are the greatest.
We sure send lots and lots of purrs and prayers to Spooky. Hope he feels better soon.

  4. We are sending lots and lots of purrs and prayers to Spooky!

Phoebe, how exciting that you had a sleepover with your grammie! I bet she had a blast as well.

Thank you for sharing another great book! And, I know that we all love your giveaways! Purrs!

  5. L is not only for Love, it is for laughter too. Lola would definitely put a smile on the face of anyone who met her. She is such an adorable sweetie pie.

We are also sending prayers for Spooky’s appetite to return quickly. It is so stressful when they don’t want to eat. Our old man, Sir Hubble Pinkerton has a picky appetite because he has so many medical conditions that we are working with. So I know first hand how hard it is to have a kitty who is not eating well. Lots of LOVE coming to him.

  6. We are very sorry to hear about Spooky. Take it day by day and spoil him rotten. You are so nice to do a Passover giveaway. Your toys are just so clever and adorable.

  7. Spooky, I would give anything if I could gather you up into a purring warm Tuxie snuggle for as long as it takes for you to feel better. I’m sorry precious boy, that you are feeling unwell and don’t want many noms. I wish I could be right there- or you right here to accept an offering from my paw…one at a time. Love you dear Spooky.

    • Spooky thanks you, he is trying very hard to stay with us. He ate a little better today. He loves you too Katie. XO

  8. We continue to purr and pray for Spooky and are sending a ton of love your way.

Our FB friend Lola (another Lola) gave us this book along with a swell tote.

    Love you Spooky.

Unfortunately, as you know, we don’t get to very many blogs in a week. Wish M could sit longer, but she can’t.

    • Thank you for the purrs and prayers for Spooky. We understand that M can’t visit often, but we know we are in your thoughts and you are all in ours. XO

  12. Spooky, we hope you are tempted by some food soon so that you will feel better. We are sending both you and your Mama lots of love and encouragement. XO
